    Always happy to help :)

How's everyone else getting on with their feeding?

    Morning all,

Welcome Aless and Finn. Congratulations on your Christmas baby!! Did you manage to finish your Christmas dinner first?

I did, but managed to lose it all during labour IYSWIM :o
Congratulations Aless - my DD was a very sucky baby, let him feed lots though as it helps with getting you milk in. Don't forget he's just spent 9 months very close to you and now he needs reassurance in this big, bright, noisy world.

Thanks! It's more during the night, so definitely a comfort thing. Hopefully once milk in fully, he'll need sucking less.

Seems okay so far...this might be a dumb question, but (once milk is in, of course) is it really obviously just from sight/feel when boob is empty vs. full? :o

I have pretty much the same experience as Boo Krystal. Can be 2-3 hours in the day but come evening down to every hour, roughly 10 mins a time. Also had the milk squirting experience (first time it happened was at a friends house typically) and it still happens on occasion, I've just got quicker at catching it. Let down is still uncomfortable but not painful and actual feeding no longer hurts unless she is clamping her gums together (which was a lot last week but not too much last couple of days).

I think it helps me knowing that you are here Krystal. Don't always need to ask you but reassuring to know that I can if I want to. So thanks very much.

In the first few months yes, they tend to feel full / heavy... (I can often be found giving them a quick squeeze even now to see which side I fed from last ;)) Also... In the very early days, if you are really full one side and have just fed from the other you can have a slight lopsidedness about you... Sometimes more noticeable than others lol...

And there's no such thing as a dumb question :)

Harley, it's extremely common for babies to 'cluster feed' in the evening... The best way to look at it is they are stocking up for the night... We hope they'll sleep a bit longer so they'll need the extra fuel to keep them going...

Glad it's not hurting anymore hun... In a couple of months you'll barely even notice you're doing it :D

Now I'm off to make chicken, leek and sausage meat stuffing pie... Hopefully the last of the big christmas chicken!

Fairy dad mother just rang me to confirm that he is coming round tomorrow, then I looked on FB and saw he's written that he had to go and get Tamiflu for my step mum yesterday morning! !!!!!!! I'm so angry! Seth isnt even over the last illness, I am not going to let him be around someone that could potentially be carrying swine flu germs!

Oh its a Breville one that OH got me!! Its a 4.5 litre one, sounds like it might be the same as the one you took back if its the same brand and doing the same thing, typical!

Yep I think you're right that is the one we had.
Can i ask a quick breastfeeding question. Toby is 6 weeks old tomorrow. I think I am producing quite a lot of milk, as it quite often causes him to pull away and cough towards the start of a feed and it will often continue spraying out. He will often feed for say 10 mins only on one side and then maybe another 5 mins after, then be tired or just not inyerested in having anymore. Friends with young babies say theirs feeds for 20 mins without stopping, so would Toby feeding for less long be because he is getting more out quicker hence not needing to stay on as long? Or as each baby is different i shouldnt compare? I think i am just wondering if this is why he quite often will only go for 2 hours ish between feeds. TIA!!
    Always happy to help :)

Boo/ Krystal thanks for that... william does the same thing, he also has a tendancy to nibble but only when feeding on left side, which does hurt as well as when he first locks on the left side.

Really must get round to expressing but sometimes just feel all I seem to be doing at the moment is being milked... I did give in and buy some formula but havent used it yet... just tried the ready made stuff once at night.

Its nice to know you are there Krystal to help with these queries...:A

More grr - I havent heard anything from the ebay seller of the car seat since the 23rd, when I put in an offer which they accepted. Just went on their page and they've put a note on there to say they are away until the 4th so wont be able to dispatch til after then, I'm really not happy with that, they could have dispatched on the 23rd/24th, when they were clearly around as they accepted the offer!

Evening all.. I feel like death _pale_ :( FIL and niece have got it too.. hmmm. My back is the worst thing now, I've pulled it repeatedly with being sick and Nurofen is doing nothing for it

So thankful OH has been here to take care of Rhys and I have Mum lined up to come round tomorrow :o However my frozen milk stash is now zero cos OH couldn't remember how to make up the formula (its a combination of two, not made according to the pack instructions) :(

Welcome to all the newbies and *hugs* to all the poorlies xx
