((HUGS)) to all those who are finding BF difficult and draining. All of your problems are very familiar both on here and at the Booby Clubs I have attended for the last 9 months.
Keep going, it is worth it and it does get so much easier as you go along.
Someone said to me when Benjamin was tiny that at 6 weeks everything changes. I kept that thought in my head and just tried my best to cope for the first 6 weeks. Every time I struggled and sat crying as I BF I just kept the thought of it getting better at 6 weeks in my head, and it kept me going.
Looking back now, I can't tell you whether it got better at 6 weeks, or at 7 or whenever, but I can tell you that it did get better, and much, much easier. After 6 weeks I waited for the next change at 12 weeks, then 18 weeks etc etc.
Keep posting and letting us know how you are doing and, where needed, moaning. We are all here to help xxxKrystaltips wrote: »I see Benjamin is making steps towards total mobile independance there Mfd, well done!!
Mini brag... Today, Caitlyn figured out how to get from laying on her front to sitting
Thanks Krystal.
Yay for Caitlyn! Benjamin was crawling for ages before he learnt how to get to sitting :T:Tladybirdintheuk wrote: »We are workin on walking here - she managed a few steps several times yesterday. By the time she goes back to nursery next week I won't be able to keep up with her!

Oh Em - thank you so much for your tip on grating the veg for Benjamin's food. Tonight he had grated carrot and swede with quorn cooked in passata with some baby veg stock and pasta stars. He loved it, and I am not surprised because it was yummy!!
I discovered Benjamin likes quorn on Boxing Day when he tried some of SILs quorn cottage pie. He is not a big meat fan so at least being able to substitute quorn opens my menu options a little.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Feeding is 'fun' here
Ed is a big fan of sleep eating which is a no no while he's ill because it results in a very full tummy that then comes back  plus I'm having to hold him and sit differently to keep his head raised for same reason.
I didn't realise how often I feed him to sleep until now and he's not happy about me taking him off but its for his own good
Has the sprout effect worn of Dave yet? :rotfl:
missed earlier - Welcome Always!
Weezl - your present list was so sweet! xx
Have you tried a biological nurturing position, laying back and having him lie on you bum down, head up IYSWIM?He is also so nosey that keeps wanting to look around when feeding and putting his hand in the way....grrr boys eh!My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »

Thats a good idea on Quorn, its a lot softer, why didnt I think of that?! Whenever I have made spag bol for Seth, I have always blended the meat til as smooth as possible and then added the veg and pasta, but I reckon he would probably be ok with Quorn. He is perfectly fine, however, with having a chunk of rock solid cookie put into his mouth
Seth worked out sitting from being on his front about a week agostill no crawling though! He is too lazy. He prefers to push himself along with his feet, legs straight, bum in the air, face in the floor!! Have to make sure he doesnt come off the mat and get onto the carpet or he gets carpet burns on his nose!

Evening all. We've had a lovely day at my parents - my Grandad is visiting and my brother is still there too, so Izzy had a great time playing with everyone. Her appetite is finally back too - she ate LOADS at lunchtime. Most of the food we took with us, plus a little bit of everything else too. She loves olives at the moment, and we tried her on some bread with taramasalata too, which didn't even touch the sides on the way down!
I didn't quote anything while I was catching up - was going to answer BF questions, but Krystal knows everything so i don't need to. Another "it does get better" from this direction though - Izzy is nearly 1 and we are still going strong. She has formula quite happily if I'm not around, but otherwise it is Mummy milk all the way. We are at the "lifting up mummy's top" stage, which is  when we are in public, but never mind. I made her laugh earlier by lifting her top up in retaliation :rotfl:.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

We still don't have baby gatesand Benjamin has been crawling for 4 months and can now climb the stairs
Maybe I am just not a baby gates kind of person
I don't feel the need for them yet. Not sure at what point you definitely need them?
Although, I haven't 'babyproofed' my living room yet eitherI just use the 'oi baby - get yer mitts off' approach to parenting :rotfl:
Yay, glad to be of service

Benjamin will eat solid pieces of fruit without a thought, his gums make excellent chompers!! But he just spits meat outI can't see the point of forcing him. He seems to like quorn.
Seth sounds so cute!!! Although I don't know about lazy - it sounds like a bit of an effort to get around by rubbing your face along the floor!!! Not to mention painful!
Edit - LOL at Izzy demanding booby in public! Benjamin isn't bothered at all during the day but in the morning and in the evening nothing else will do! I am thinking of giving it up but I don't want to upset him...please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Hi all
I can also second that BF does get better. Caitlyn in 5 1/2 months now and we're still going strong. Earlier on we went shopping and I fed her in the car in the car park. I had to tell DH to turn the radio down because I couldn't tell whether she was drinking or not! Like Krystal says, after a while you'll hardly notice you're even doing it.
ladybird - can I just ask you, if she has formula when you're not around is your supply still there? Caitlyn will be goin to the childminder in April and I'm hoping to send her with formula but still feed her myself in the afternoons and evening/nighttime. Oh, and breakfast. SO I suppose really she'll be having 1 or maybe 2 (if she's really hungry) formula feeds per day in the week.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
Pinkpig - Benjamin has bottles during the day now and my supply is fine feeding just morning and night. I also feed him during the day sometimes.
Your body tends to adjust to the demand. I don't get big hard boobies anymore (expcept if I miss a whole day).please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
