  • Hi all :hello:
    Always happy to help :)

How's everyone else getting on with their feeding?

David is wearing me out with his constant feeding. He is 6 weeks old today and is definitely using my breast for comfort ( he refuses to take a dummy - I tried in desperation :o) but also wants to feed pretty much hourly. It is hard work especially as I can only feed with 1 boob :o and I am beyond tired! I am so pleased I have got this far but I can understand why bottle feeding is so popular

We have been forecast to get heaps of snow tomorrow :jand I am kinda hoping we get snowed in! We live vey rurally so it is definitely possible. I love loads of snow :D
The one thing children wear out faster than shoes is parents ;):o:D
  • sorry to hear you don't feel well Elle.

    Dodgy hugs :grouphug:

Oh Elle that sounds awful, hope you feel a bit better tomorrow. Have you got a hot water bottle for your back?

Boo/ Krystal thanks for that... william does the same thing, he also has a tendancy to nibble but only when feeding on left side, which does hurt as well as when he first locks on the left side.

Really must get round to expressing but sometimes just feel all I seem to be doing at the moment is being milked... I did give in and buy some formula but havent used it yet... just tried the ready made stuff once at night.

Its nice to know you are there Krystal to help with these queries...:A
    :)
Have a look at how you're holding him when he's feeding from the left, it could be that he doesn't feel as secure as the other side and might be clamping down to stop the nipple slipping out... It would also account for pain on first latch if he's not quite in the right position...

((Hugs)) to both of you... The early days really do take it out of you but I promise, like everything when it comes to babies, it does get easier!

Growth spurts are real shockers when you feel like all you do is sit and feed, they happen between 4-8 weeks and feel like they will never end... But they do... And we get through it somehow... The same way we do when they're teething or are ill...

Hope you feel better soon Elle xx

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Feeding is 'fun' here :p
Ed is a big fan of sleep eating which is a no no while he's ill because it results in a very full tummy that then comes back  plus I'm having to hold him and sit differently to keep his head raised for same reason.
I didn't realise how often I feed him to sleep until now and he's not happy about me taking him off but its for his own good :)

Has the sprout effect worn of Dave yet? :rotfl:

    missed earlier - Welcome Always!

He is also so nosey that keeps wanting to look around when feeding and putting his hand in the way....grrr boys eh!

Just ate my dodgy slow cookered pork casserole, was bland as anything so shoved 1/4 tube of tomato puree in it and lots of lea and perrins, was actually ok after that and am going to have the leftovers tomorrow with cheesy mash to make a kind of shepherds pie :D

Am still swapping it for a slower slow cooker though, I wouldnt be able to trust leaving this one when I'm at work cos of the escaping steam and the lid rattling!!
