:santa2:Hi all - and HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMIE !!

Congrats to aless and welcome to the thread.
ahhhh mel i have a 20% voucher for elc which runs out at the end of jan so gonna use that in the sales x

SM the 20% vouchers dont work on sale items (I had one in nov for ds2's b'day) I bought a plum climbing frame but only after the girk in the shop insisted it was tp and therefore no 20% off - I phoned CS in the end and got 20% off through them!!

Best present - anything from OH... although the breastfeeding charm for my bracelet was the one that made me cry :o

Most unsuitable present (can't say worst/crap as they are really nice, just not "us") - goose down duvet and pillows from SIL.. duvet is a double and we have a king size bed (which I'm sure she knows because she burst into our room a few weeks back on the pretense of looking at our wardrobe), plus once we were both brave enough to talk about it, we discovered neither of us like down duvet/pillows! Not sure what to do about that one.. :o

I don't like down either any more as apart from the itchy feather thing theres the animal welfare thing too (which I read about on a MSE thread and hadn't even considered previously).

Anyway I bought ds1 a memory foam pillow recently and it is "lush" so am looking out for more for me when I find the time to shop.
    Evening folks :)

Haven't completely caught up but thought I best check in... Even though nobody's missed me :p

How are the poorly babes doing tonight? Aimee and Caitlyn both came back from my Mum's on boxing day with worse coughs than when they went... Not surprising since everyone was smoking in the kitchen with the doors shut... And the buffet  Aimee's isn't really bothering her anymore than it has been... But Caitlyn was a bit sick during dinner today... Just foamy nastyness... Probably bought on by the sprout that hubby fed her... I mean... They make me wanna barf ;)

I see Benjamin is making steps towards total mobile independance there Mfd, well done!!

Mini brag... Today, Caitlyn figured out how to get from laying on her front to sitting :D

Best christmas present... Everything off hubby... (I was very spoilt this year!!)

Worst christmas present... 2 tins of quality street from my brother and sister... I don't even like quality street!! Recon Tesco would swap a tin for some miniature heros?

The smoking while in the house is my pet hate. I have refused to take LO's round to certain houses before because of this but people always think I'm being unreasonable. In fact OH used to always smoke with us in the car with the window down as he said all the smoke went outside until one day I flipped and had a massive HUGE row with him about it....:o

OK BEST PRESENT - condenser tumble dryer (the washing pile was becoming a bit desperate)

worst present - turkish delight (yuk) still that can go in the pressie box :rotfl:.

We had a funny xmas day and quite a few rows as I had a bad back and was pretty useless - OH is not used to doing stuff and wasn't too happy but in the end we just got on with it and although "we" forgot starters and puds the food was ok and new ps3 plus (what I consider to be wildly not worth the money ) guitar hero made ds1 and oh happy!!

    Morning all,

Welcome Aless and Finn. Congratulations on your Christmas baby!! Did you manage to finish your Christmas dinner first?

    Happy Birthday Jamie!!

Maz - I am not BFing, but had intended to and attended workshops. I am sure that first thing in the morning was recommended as the best time to express. Also a couple of small glasses of wine were advised as being fine.

Can't remember anything else. Was catching up last night when Virgin's internet went down until this morning.

I don't think I have a best and worst Christmas present this year. Probably hubby's choices of clothes are worst, but it's my own fault for suggesting he picks something. Always picks really frumpy things!! I know I am difficult to buy for due to my shape though so can't really blame him. At least he tried, and I can take them back and get something nicer.

Off to meet friends for lunch this afternoon. Have a nice day everyone. xx

:o:o Why, thank you! (But were you checking out my butt?) :p
I check out everyone's butt... Not in a p3rvy way... More in a "I wish mine looked like that" kind of way ;)

I am walloping the sales... Just got 12 pairs of jeans, a top for me, 2 tops for Aimee, a dress and a sleepsuit with matching jacket for Caitlyn for the grand price of £13.50!!

It seems an excessive amount of denim I know... But I bought a few different pairs in 2 different sizes... On account of trying to shrink my butt in the new year... And I figure I might get more than £1 a pair on eBay when I'm done with them...

Got a miserable baby today... <sigh>
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

  • Afternoon,

Just having a break from prepping the food for this afternoon - having our annual family get together. Just the dough balls and garlic butter to make now.

Congratulations Aless - my DD was a very sucky baby, let him feed lots though as it helps with getting you milk in. Don't forget he's just spent 9 months very close to you and now he needs reassurance in this big, bright, noisy world.

Get well all poorly babies, mummies etc.

Hi! How'd it take me 12 days to get here from the pregnancy thread?! I know new babies addle your brains but 12 days without my gossips fix, whatever next?!

Thomas (who we seem to have nick-named Tom Tom, ironic as the only thing he can navigate between left and right boob!) is fast asleep - in the middle of the day! He has a complete aversion to his cot so is sleeping in with us, makes feeding a lot easier especially as am still a bit post-caeserian creaky at times but not so great for mummy & daddy's sleeping!

Am off to read back and start getting to know you all!

OMG I've just given Henry a dummy. He has been such a grump and I think he has a cold/ sore throat/ sore ears as we went to a family party boxing day where two people had it, and he's been so unlike himself today. It seems to have calmed him as he just wants to suck, constantly. I've fed him every hour today but I don't really think he is hungry, just after comfort.

Just ordered my £1 jeans, thanks SS!

    Edit: welcome Always!

We call my little brother Tom Tom... He's 27 now lol... He'll get better at the being put down thing eventually... They all do... Just seems like forever at the time... Make the most of not being able to get up ;)

GISI... Do whatever works for you hun... I would have given Caitlyn a dummy but she has never had any interest in 'none nutrative sucking' ;)

    GRRRR.

Husband has decreed that because everyone's sick, we need to move to a hotel. Fine. But we have stuff to package up that needs to be shipped to Germany. I suggest three alternatives for buying moving boxes and he finds a problem with each one - and after complaining about the amount of stuff that needs to be done he falls asleep.

Now to feed Molly, put stuff in envelopes for posting, and get on with the shipping dilemma.

LOL you'd never guess you're a lurker :D Welcome along xx

Another call to nhs direct here this morning when Ed brought up a bit of blood :( we're confident it was a throat/tummy sore from throwing up all the time thing not anything to worry about but it was quite scary when I saw it come up and waited incase there was more :(
