Are you taking him out in the sunshine at lunchtime? That is meant to help with easing baby out of being nocturnal.
yeah we kinda stayed in all day yesterday, so today's goal is definitely some fresh air/sunshine and trying to find some sort of normalcy! I hadn't even thought of it though, thanks.

Morning all
Welcome Finn and Well Done Aless. A nice walk in the sun will do you all the world of good I'm sure. Feet should start shrinking fairly soon. Mine were back in old shoes within the fortnight. Might have been sooner but didn't actually have the brain power to look for them before then!!!
Glad to hear that DH is taking turns with you, that must make life a lot easier. It does settle down, honestly. Just follow all the advice about peaceful and quiet evenings and interesting noisy day times. Finn will catch on eventually.

:hello:I'm here! Just had to be ready to take that big leap to the scary world of being a "parent"
. Also I didn't want my first post to be asking for advice!!
I'll read back in a bit, but I've lurked on this thread a billion times - lovely to see all the old faces from the Pregnancy thread!
Finn is finally properly asleep. Last 2 nights have been pretty hell - he doesn't want to sleep in his Moses basket until the night's over with! He's very suck-y and frets when we put him down - just very nocturnal at the moment (so basically DH & I have been taking shifts holding him during the night which is NOT ideal). I know all this is normal but just is sooooo frustrating. But he poos like a trooper, feeds generally well and is more than cute enough to make up for it all.
So how long does it take for my feet to stop looking like balloon animals?
(sorry - brief intro. Finn born 11:39pm Christmas Day, our first baby. Home from hospital the following afternoon. Breastfeeding. Anything else?)
hello Aless and welcome and huge congrats on Finn and doing BF
Not sure how scientific an answer you wanted to the swollen feet questions, but you know me so I'll plough on!
Basically the extra fluid is stored at the latter stage of PG to help the body regulate blood loss during and after labour.
It's the same thing as pre-period water retention but on a larger scale. It will self resolve as your bleeding lessens, but you can help it along by drinking lots of fluids.
This will make you wee more, so I'd recommend sudo on your lady bits about 10 mins before a wee, it acted like a waterproof numbing layer for me and seemed to help. DH worked out where my graze was and did this for me.
What an :A
Hope you're well.

Weezl I love your kettle! It's beautiful. (Can kettles be beautiful).
V has a very snotty nose this morning. Well, not so much a snotty nose, more of a crusty face and hair.:beer:0 -
ooo, thx weezl - I'm a bit nerdy too so like knowing the reasons behind things

Weezl has a fab kettle!! I don't even use a kettle or drink tea, but I really want one of those! I, would then of course, have to redo my kitchen, and sell all the other appliances to match the retro scheme.....HMMMM!
Hello Aless! Finn is a lovely name, it reminds me of Australia...I'm not sure why, maybe there used to be someone named it on Home & Away? I'm not thinking of Toadie, don't worry!!
Think OH wants to go into town today, oh happy joy joy....I need to go have a bath and I have toothache, probably from chewing too many hard quality streets...what a pie!
I need to stop the munching, the scales say I've lost an lb but these are my dodgy scales and I certainly feel fatter but that may have something to do with my stupid haircut! (my logic is skewed i know but tis true!)
Yey for walking babies and Happy Birthday Jamie!!
Hugs to Ellie for the Diapoopoo and sick!!0 -

Nice to see you here. My swollen feet went after about ten days I think. The first few nights are tough, aren't they? It does get better soon though.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Aless, it just occurs to me that a sling might help soothe Finn and let you have your hands free
Edit: and my feet went down again within a week, although they're half a size bigger than before :mad:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
