I hate feather/down stuff esp the one that used to be on MILs spare bed, it was so heavy you were almost pinned down in the bed by it and always getting jabbed by escaping ones!
(although hubbys seems rock hard to me? Maybe he doesn't squidge his around as much as I do...) and I used to have a feather duvet, I hated it... The feathers would drop either side of you so whichever part of your body was sticking up the most (usually hips) would just get really cold...
ETA again - I like that one buttons - but i'm not sure I do satin. Would shiny not make my already wide bottom even wider?A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Oh and Krystal, Keira LOOOOOOVESSSS those rollerskates, as soon as she opened them they were on her feet. She won't take them off, she accesories her whole outfit, puts on her cinderella dress, necklace and crown, the correct glass slippers, then puts the skates on with it. She then moans she is getting sore feet, well duh your wearing plastic shoes in the skates!!
But thank you so much for them, I shouldn't of gotten her anything else and saved some dosh :rotfl:0 -

hello
I'm not very good at playing best present/worst present.
I have invented my own categories:rotfl:
fave crafty present: hand knitted fingerless mittens with knitted flower (so you can type and be snug)
touching present: Dyna bands plus free tuition on how to use them from my newly qualified in personal training ante- and post- natally Dad (did i tell you guys my dad was retraining?) touching because he usually leaves the thinking about pressies to my mum.
luxury present: a 45 minute neck and shoulder massage at 'the haven'.
fave self-bought with christmas money: beautiful red stove-top kettle from John Lewis.
fave serendipitous present: mentioned to MIL that I had to give the sewing machine back
Turns out she knew someone who was moving to Spain and had no room for her singer sewing machine, so they have offered it to meit's just been in their garage - yay!
but does it sound really lame if I say my real faves were things for fergie that I know he'll love or that he's already taken a shine to?
Fergie's current fave: bruin the bear and his (rather noisy) fire engine with flashy lights, from ELC.

Sami, hope Ed gets better soon.
Hope you feel better soon, elle.
Best present: money/vouchers
Worst present: none as we all get what we ask for and vice versa!. Oh, apart from a cheap candle from SIL as part of my 'go-withs'.
Well, my little Jamie Jack is ONE today _party__party__party_ and was so excited that he woke at 5:45am!.
Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes and I too remember waddling my way through last Christmas!

Morning all. just lost my post :~( Happy birthday to Jamie and yay for standing and sitting babies. We are workin on walking here - she managed a few steps several times yesterday. By the time she goes back to nursery next week I won't be able to keep up with her!
The christmas period is being a whirl of new culinary adventures for Izzy - chocolate, stilton, pate and twiglets - the brave baby will eat them all(no sprouts though!)

:hello:I'm here! Just had to be ready to take that big leap to the scary world of being a "parent". Also I didn't want my first post to be asking for advice!!
I'll read back in a bit, but I've lurked on this thread a billion times - lovely to see all the old faces from the Pregnancy thread!
Finn is finally properly asleep. Last 2 nights have been pretty hell - he doesn't want to sleep in his Moses basket until the night's over with! He's very suck-y and frets when we put him down - just very nocturnal at the moment (so basically DH & I have been taking shifts holding him during the night which is NOT ideal). I know all this is normal but just is sooooo frustrating. But he poos like a trooper, feeds generally well and is more than cute enough to make up for it all.
So how long does it take for my feet to stop looking like balloon animals?
(sorry - brief intro. Finn born 11:39pm Christmas Day, our first baby. Home from hospital the following afternoon. Breastfeeding. Anything else?)
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

Happy birthday Jamie!!
Edit: hello Aless - congratulations! I love the name Finn.
Molly's joining the sick-baby club - poor little monster has a really nasty productive cough and was up all night. Husband's taken her off to Boots to see what they'll give her. I just want to give her cuddles, and give my mother (who gave her the cough) a time machine.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Hi Aless and welcome to the world Finn
Are you taking him out in the sunshine at lunchtime? That is meant to help with easing baby out of being nocturnal.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009
