I'm off to Ikea for the cheap highchair this morning - DH back at work so driving to Nottingham with 2 kids on my own! Might have to have a wander over to Next too and spend hubbys vouchers.

Josh is completely engrossed in Tracy Beaker - having to shout to get him to get ready!

Hugs to poorly mummies, hope you all feel better soon xx

  • Pinkpig - we have to switch the TV off to get DSS to get ready! And it doesn't matter what is on TV either

    Have fun at Ikea!

I'm sooooo tired. Got in at 4am, woke up at 7am, painkillers have kicked in finally (took them at 7) and I want to sleep (did I mention I am child free till late afternoon?) but got to go to the GP in 10mins. DH is still slepping and will be too not-quite-hungover to drive me in :(

Oh and a man got so drunk at the party last night, he passed out in the toilet (this was after I pointedly walked away from him when he snapped at me for 'laughing at him') and his wife had to carry him into a taxi after the two designated drivers refused to take him home. I thought folk stopped all that carry on when they reached 20?

Was anyone else unfortunate enough to get the Vtech steering wheel for their LO's? Seth loves it, but I cant wait for the bl00dy batteries to run out... I dont care how happily they drive through town, I really really dont!!

awww, morning all - sorry to hear so many mummies & babies feel poorly!

last night was a wee bit better :T not so much because he was, but b/c we're finding a system that works so we can at least each get a bit of sleep. My theory is he doesn't like the Moses basket b/c he doesn't like sleeping on his back full stop b/c he does the exact same sort of fretting when we put him in the pram. We'll see! It's all not so bad, just gotta get used to this new gig as parents :o still quite surreal!

hope this horrid weather clears up so can get out for more walks, as otherwise I will go stir-crazy!

em, sadly, we missed that one. But we do still have the 'gun from hell' DS1 got years ago. So loud his jowls shook when he held it and kept the trigger pressed in. I drowned that thing in the bath and it still worked. I left it in the garden for a week in winter and it still worked. My mums dog chewed on it and it still worked!

Awww aless, have you tried putting a towel under the mattress to raise it up a little? Might trick him into thinking he is being cuddled. Oh and we all highly reccomend popping a hot water bottle on the mattress for a few mins before putting them down ;) At one point with Amber, I had towels under her crib mattress so that she had a little nest effect going on :D Do what you have to do and what you feel comfortable doing to get some sleep.

Glad you had a better night Aless. Henry refused his basket for the first ten nights or so, then one night just went down fine. We'd tried hot water bottles and all sorts but I guess he just needed to be ready.
Also, which sling are you getting? I love my Mei Tai from Etsy.
Tia- get you, you dirty stop out! Why did you get up at 7 if you're child free?!

Hugs to poorly ones, anyone feeling better today?

MFD- yay for booby socials. Fingers crossed the snow misses you and that Big Booby is better.

ooo, towels! I knew there was a trick I had read about but wasn't remembering. Ta, tia. Also good to know GISI, I'm hoping Finn's the same way in that one night it just 'clicks'!

tia, lucky you being child-free! Enjoy your freedom today!

ooo yes speaking of boobies (LOL) need to ask MWs tomorrow details of local club and whatnot...think the holidays will not have much going on, but good to know when everything gets back to nromal in the new year.
