Some of us NEED the money or we go cold.
If you are having problems paying your utility bills you should contact your supplier and make a payment arrangement. The CWP is not guaranteed to be paid on a certain date, and therefore should not be relied on to make immediate bill payments.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Hi all,
New to this so bare with me lol
Ive just been reading over everyones comments and it seems some people think you wont get a cold weather payment if there is 6 days at -6 then 1 day at 1 degree. but on the website it says its based on the "average mean" temperature over 7 consecutive days.. so to me that means if its -6 for 6 days and 1 for one day you should still get your payment, as the average temp over the 7 days would still be below o degrees
Maybe thats not correct but thats how i interpreted it to be.. may be a good idea to check with local jobcenter to be sure.Angels Are The Guardians Of Hope And Wonder, The Keepers Of Magic And Dreams. This is what they say on the website :
"This year you will get £25 when the average temperature where you live is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees Celsius or below over seven consecutive days during the period from 1 November to 31 March."
Hmmm.. I was inclined to think it's an average temperature of <0, seven days in a row. You could be right.0 -
It's been down to minus 7 here and we still have 6" snow lying frozen but we dont get one because the weather station is 800ft lower down than I am !Dum Spiro Spero0

IT has to be below zero for the whole week! 7 days. If it drops below it for half an hour on day 6 then you've had it !
This is not correct, as I understand it the AVERAGE temperature for the 7 consecutive day period must be 0 which means that it can rise above 0 so long as the average temperature (for example, temperature each hour divided by number of hours in the week - not to say that is exactly how it is worked out) is 0 or below.
