  • Well so far so good. Snow in the air but nothing to worry about, and I'm keeping an eye on the traffic cameras. Anyone in Wales - do a search for traffic camera wales to see updated pics from the traffic cameras on major routes.

Also, a useful site for most of you - www.raintoday.co.uk It doesn't predict the weather, but shows you what the weather has done over the last 2 hours so you can see the pattern. Very useful!

Clare - how on earth do you have time to go to work? I wouldn't know whether I was coming or going, with a schedule like that!!! Once DD's birthday is here - you'll get the christmas spirit - you just have a lot on your plate at the mo.

Lol I know - December has always been manic because I do extra work (murders! lol) but with DD's birthday too. Oh well, just when things were looking to be settled, we're now off to London tomorrow night weather permitting!! Argh!! lol

So sorry to all of you who are ill. DD's got a nasty wet cough because she's got a runny nose, but bless her she's coping SO well with it and slept for almost 12 hours last night! Everyone stay wrapped up warm!

Going to catch up on more posts...snowing here again but the road cameras say the roads are fine at the moment...

You take care when you're travelling Clare and ditto from me to you. Have a wonderful, magical christmas with DD. Take plenty of photos etc as you can to treasure the memories. Sorry your Avon didn't turn up, they mess everything up - only 50% of our order came. It's horrible explaining to people that their christmas presents aren't coming.

Sarah - I hope you get you gift bags - the wilko's by us had sold out.

Fedup - maybe you did too much while you were feeling better yesterday, and it's knocked you back a bit. Slow it down a bit. ;)

Esmer - I put everything in my hamper yesterday (there was too much to fit so I had to eat the chocolates) LOL. I did leave a little space though, to fit a jar of lemon curd - going to get lemons today so I can make it on Christmas Eve. I can cello it all up then. Try arranging the bits in one hamper to get an idea what they will look like, you may be inspired to finish the lot.

Rufus - I hope yours and DD's sore throats ease, and don't progress into anything worse. DD is still ill. It looks like she's getting conjunctivitis too now - just what we need.

Hiya Mum2one - i hope everyone is well.

It's minus 8 here too at the moment. OH went to work as usual, he was in the office sorting the letters , then due to 'health and safety' he's not allowed to deliver them. He came home at 11.30 - I wouldn't mind so much, but he didn't even bring our post home.

Hiya DDraig - we cross posted. You're kids supposed to be at school? Ours broke up on Friday. I hope you get your wrapping done. I need to get more paper - I found a bag I hadn't wrapped last night. I only have paper with santa's on and High School Musical left. I don't think my Dad would appreciate that. ;)

Note to self - still to do
    [STRIKE]Ice cakes (20th)
Nut topping for other 2 cakes (20th)
Make cupcakes for leaving do (20th)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Make biscotti[/STRIKE]

    Make up flavoured coffee (21st)
    Make fudge (22nd)
    Start trifle (23rd)
    Start pavlova (23rd or 24th)
Sage and onion stuffing (later on 24th)
    Make gravy in advance (24th)
Take gammon out of freezer (23rd)
    Cook gammon in cola (24th)
    Make apple sauce (24th)
    make cranberry sauce (24th)

I have iced the 2 cakes for work, taking it nice a steady. I didn't overdo things yesterday as I hardly moved apart from a present wrapping session, again very slow and a steady wipedown of the bathroom

Hope they like the cakes and I hope they don't turn out too overcooked - will remember this for next time and cover with much more brown paper and take out earlier. Anyway, will see how these go down with the recipients

Cupcakes and cake topping shouldn't take too long. I'll top the cakes this afternoon, stick a load in the washing machine (clothes not cakes!) and do the small amount of ironing that needs doing then get work stuff ready early and sort out some lunch for tomorrow. Then just need to update my food list for tomorrow or Wed

elysia - calm down count to 10, then tell them what you think, no seriously, think positive - i will not be stressed

esmer - agree with you family do suck.....lol, but i think christmas brings alot more added pressure and stress, thank god I dont speak to any of mine, through my own choice I might add. Before you all think the worst, have a 1 brother and 1 sister. And I`ve left them to fight over the family fortune (not). They need it more than me. I `m happy (cant buy it)
