    Hello all :j
mum2one, diddly and sarah.........thanks for your suggestions.......complain I will despite OH saying I'm not to. He's his own worst enemy and if help turned up at the door he'd probably refuse it knowing him but I feel I must make a point.
Honest he's the worlds worst patient and slowly driving me pottty:eek:I know it's because he's in pain though so must grin and bear it and try and get back to normal.
His mate called today and drove him to the surgery for more painkillers.........luckily they've given him as many as he needs till new year so he didn't have to argue with anyone about it. Then he got taken to the pub to see some of his mates which was nice.
Have to start thinking about christmas food shopping now. Left it as we didn''t know whether son was coming up.......now we know he's not and its just us and our lad we can trim back a bit on what we might have got. There's a chicken in the freezer that'll do, xmas pud left over from last year and the rest is just piccy bits really. Shops will be open day after boxing day anyway so no panic.

I must get myself back to some sort of normality.......get my glue and paper out maybe and do the things I was doing before all this happened.

Is anyone elses OH a pain in the bum like mine is when they're ill ? Think at the minute OH would win gold medal for it....................lol

Oh well, things can only get better........can't they ?:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary my OH isn't ill very often (probably had two days off work in five years - but when he is, he could get an oscar for his performance. Don't get me started on Man Flu!!! Why is it we get a cold and carry on, but men are dying???

Legendmum - I would still freeze your mincepies - and probably put them in the hamper frozen, they aren't going to spoil, and will stay fresher then.

Don't look what we've got for tea - we're finishing off bits and peices in the freezer, so I can make room for shopping tomorrow. It will only be fresh stuff Christmas Eve then.

I made two monkeys today, as well as looking after neice. I also delivered my Avon books when OH came back (he went for a mooch around the shops). Blizzards have been here most of the afternoon, then it rains a bit and clears it, then really heavy snow again. I wonder what we're going to wake up to tomorrow.

Clearing away and then making mince pies and finishing my wrapping - then I'm all done and dusted. Hurray. I can sit back next week.

I have done my final food shopping list for next week - not much to get

I'll have to stock up on honey I think as I'm going through it at a rate of knots for my cold! Might call in for some more tomorrow while I'm out for the hospital appt

Just the decorations left to put up at the weekend and wrap the presents, make a couple of food gifts that aren't too difficult and really need to make a start on icing the christmas cakes and tarting them up a bit with a topping

I'm not bothering to ice mine, no one here likes it. I eat the marzipan and leave the icing, so I'm just not going to bother. :)

Thanks Fedup - you just reminded me I need lemons. Making a batch of lemon curd but it needs to be last minute because it only lasts two weeks homemeade.

Esmer - re: Mightnight Raven. I haven't seen her about for a while, but I haven't been on the crafty threads either. I hope you manage to find her soon.

I don't like icing either and will just be doing a nut topping on 2 cakes, then icing another one as my friend who is buying it likes icing and marzipan and if I have enough I'd better do the other one too

I'm sniffling away bigstyle here feeling absolutely rubbish - hoping I have enough energy to finish off the preps this weekend

Here's the 'light/diet' version and here's the normal version. Here is a quick microwave version too.

The normal one has five star ratings so I'm hoping it's nice. :D

Ta. I've got all those ingredients in my fridge right now. I may have a go over the weekend.

Have you ever seen a recipe for lemon cheese btw?
