    Evening all,

DD was great at her party and had fun, and she got a lovely doll from Santa. She was still cautious, but she at least went too him. I then treated her to Tescos costa mini muffins and a smoothie, she enjoyed that. I got some bits and bobs and went to collect my thermometer that finally arrived in one piece so I can now temper the chocolate :) I ended up coming home from mums without DD, she wanted to stay at grans and mum was more than happy to keep her, so I have a wee night off................ now what craft to do tonight :)

Buzzer just went, so Pizza is ready mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Catch you all later, hope you are keeping warm and staying safe :) x

Quiet on here tonight - I wander if you're all wrapping pressies? ;)

    Mcjordi - well done. :)

I'm really tired tonight - reason: I waited up to buy the OOTW from Boots - I was on the Boots website at 11.30 waiting but site came online at 3am. I hate that holding page!!! I couldn't get my parenting code to work, so kept trying, and managed to pay for two at 3.25. At least this year, I went to bed afterwards - last year I just stayed up. :p

I had to buy online because we only have a little tiny Boots locally, and couldn't be there at opening time because I had to go to see DD2 collect her award at school. One was for 100% attendance, and the other was for 'her fantastic attitude to all aspects of school life and her enthusiasm for creative writing'. It was lovely - Headmaster asked her classmates what they thought she got the award for, and someone shouted ever so loudly ' for being a good friend' Bless. :D

Poor thing came out of school with raging temperature and headache. She told teacher she not well, but the horrible woman (she really is) told her to have a drink, and take her cardi off - that will cool you down. Grrrrrr. Should have sent her home.

Didn't get much of anything done today :( Nothing christmassy needs doing now though, just tidying the house.

Had about an inch of snow - trouble is, now it's dangerous because you can't see the black ice underneath.

Legendmum - I would put your mince pies in a box. If you can't find a template, open up a similar sized box, teabag box for example. You could either open it out and cut out the shape for a new box, or you could cover it in christmassy paper and put it back together again.

Esmer - I'm glad Natasha had a lovely day. I hope you manage to buy some cello. Do you have a Thorntons near you? I needed some cello and our florist wouldn't/couldn't sell me any, so I was cheeky and asked in there (they use it to wrap chocs) and she gave me loads for free.

Goodnight everyone - I'm off to bed early.

Wow it is quiet on here.

Still got NO cello! Florists are so unhelpful. Our thorntons is tiny, part of birthdays. I had an idea of finding some of that "CHEAP" metalic paper that you cant rip, utterly hopeless for actually wrapping, but thought if I could find any it would do instead of Cello Wrap.

I did get the twilight fleece and the New Moon, for my niece. I have a small list now, CELLO wrap....... more boxes (if required) twilight and believe it or not MINI muffin cases....... cant get them anywhere! :rotfl:

I think the snow has missed us FOR THE MOMENT. Just watching the news and its bad for everyone like it was for just Scotland a week ago. My cousin lives in Aberdeen and its MENTAL. My friend is travelling north to see her parents, waiting on her text to see that she arrived ok.

Hope you are all well, keeping warm and had a nice day. I'm off to read my book. Twelve Days of Christmas, its getting me in the mood and i'm really enjoying it. Thanks again, cant remember who recommended it. :)

I have an Uncle in Aberdeen - Auchterless (or something like that). I hope your friend arrives safely.

I picked up Muffin cases in Tesco today, but funnily enough I got the last packet. It must be everyone making them after seeing yours and Susan's brilliant cupcakes.

Our Thorntons is a tiny one in Birthdays too. I would still ask, if you offer to pay for it (like I did), they know you're not just taking advantage. I still got it for nothing. ;)

Mary - I saw this and thought of you. It's a great idea for little presents. I'm going to package my dammit dolls in a tin can like this.

Fedup - what tiffany lamp did you buy off QVC? I knew I should have gone to bed, I'm sat here watching QVC and just ordered the summer garden lamp. Oops. That's the second time I treated myself today - that's what you get for finishing Christmas presents early when you're still in shopping mode. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm still on here because I couldn't sleep - overtired now I suppose.

Esmer - I loved that book - it was much better than another book by the same author. Chocolate Wishes it was called, and it was boring. I'm reading 'The Christmas Cookie Club' now that I've finished 'The puppy who came for Christmas'. Can you see a theme here? LOL

    Morning all

We had a touch of snow yesterday, very cold here this morning. More snow expected this afternoon and tomorrow. Was hoping to have a nice warm weekend in doors but eldest daughter is working and asked if I could have one of my Grandson's round so her childminder doesnt have to have them all but OH is on nights and he said I cant have him round while he is asleep during the day even though he is as quiet as a mouse while here, so now I have to go round her house and look after him. Dreading going out on the slippery paths but hopefully youngest daughter will come with me so I can hang on to her. The shortest route to walk to her house is up a steep hill opposite my house and down the other side again but think I will take the longer route where it misses out the steep hills and then we can post a couple more cards on the way round.

Had to get up early so I could unlock the front door so OH can get iin after work this morning. He said its been -11 there all night. Will have to be up early tomorrow and Monday for same thing then Tuesday I can hopefully have a nice lay in at last.

Hope you wake up feeling refreshed today elysia :D

I saw the Boots OOW yesterday after going to the hospital, if I hadn't had those tests I would have bought one but the shampoo contains the ingredient I need to avoid so I left it (pleased!) The pile was decreasing so I imagine they would have gone by now.

Now what was it, oh yes the Handcrafted Jewelled Forest Table Lamp. I liked the one you've gone for too, maybe next time!

Haven't been on for a little bit, feeling decidedly unchristmassy - need to pull myself back up for the sake of the kids. Had really bad nerve damage with my teeth and have been in agony, still very sore but should get better now. And my bro in law died on tuesday night, he had cancer and had got an infection after his bone marrow transplant but he was improving and then suddenly just went...wasn't that close to him but am with his wife, who is my hubbies sister, she is only 26, and the family are devastated - hard time - his funeral is on wednesday - feel I need to keep the kids away from all of the sadness as it's christmas but can't keep them away really as aunty and grandparents will want to see them at christmas!
Don't feel like doing much next week but I know I must keep with the plans or i'll just end up moping round the house!!!
At least everything is ready - hats off to the thread again for this (you don't expect to have a funeral pop up the week before christmas do you?!?!) My shopping was due to be delivered on the morning of the funeral so I quickly changed it to tonight instead and will just get my prawn cocktail stuff and some more milk during the week everything else should be ok - carrots and potatoes will keep for ages I'm sure. not a big deal as i often go past morrisons in the week with the kids.
