They do stock some shops in a terrible way, I had much the same incident with dd's buggy! Shop assistantvlooked like I had murdered his best friend!
I never went back for ages! OoopsSaving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -
I know they want to move stock at this time of year but some shops cram their isles with so much stuff its hard to WALK round let along maneouver a 4 wheeled vehicle!
I know in my local towns there are more than a few shops which are totally inaccessible to those on scooters.
Mom used to have a terrible time and we would only really go in big stores (I used to take her to the big shopping centre Merry Hill so she would be confident of space to move) and if there were places she couldn't get I would end up fetching and showing her stuff so she could shop.Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
Im so glad now I don't have DD in the buggy much now, so i feel less stressed, but I think shops should be ashamed of themselves. I was in a shop and everything was so close she could reach out and touch/grab/pull over! not so great if you have to foot the bill for damages.
Its FREEZING here today, the ground is all white with FROST..... It think its to be like that for the week, and then on Thu we have snowSaving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -

Hello all :j
junior - I'm a great believer that our folk are always around.........if I can't find anything I normally ask my Mum or Dad and all of a sudden there it is ! :rotfl:
esmer - it is a small world.............lol He was saying how bad it had been . I'd been thinking about him as he's just become a new dad.........:)
mum2one -thanks for the tip about turkey............haven't got an Iceland or Lidl any nearer than 20 miles but we've got a Heron.......wonder if they might have any in. Have to suggest it to OH
susan - weather wally is on the Crafting for Christmas thread I think...........sorry, I've no idea how to do links but if you put it in the search box it'll come up
Snow is lurking but in patches and everywhere is so icy............OH fell over this afternoon......frightened himself to death.......and me when he got in !! He grazed his hand and insists he's just bruised the top of his leg. I suggested hospital just to make sure but he won't hear of it -typical men !! He'll be stiff as a plank in the morning ! I was going into town tomorrow but now he says ''no way''..........town is ok but its the side streets getting there that are the problem. Not dared to ask whether he'll be able to drive for hospital appt. on Wednesday -he just thinks I'm making a fuss so I'll wait till tomorrow then ask him. We can always get GP to organise transport of some sort.
Been wrapping and wrapping and wrapping !! Think I'm about done apart from one lad we used to look after and foster daughters husband...........also got a surplus of some things I made too many of...............lol Oh well, they'll do for next year................lol:rotfl:
Keep warm and stay safe:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

hi everyone, thank you so much for all your good wishes for my dad, you made me feel so much better. Have been to see him today, he is sitting up in bed and looks so much better and is in very high spirits considering! They will operate on Weds/Thurs and put a metal plate in to pin it together then he will have to stay a couple more days but hopefully should be out early next week. Took the kids as well which was good for them to see he was okay, they had both made him get well cards this morning. We also took the kids to the outdoor ice rink this afternoon, DD (she is 3) first ever time, she lasted half an hour and only fell over once! DS just enjoys falling over and laughed his head off which was great to see!
Managed to buy one more present whilst out too, so only one more to get, but got lots of wrapping to do now to get back on track as was meant to do that yesterday! Will be helping mum out as much as possible over the next two weeks too, and suppose its a blessing in a way that it has happened at holiday time when we have some time off.
Thank you again everyone xxxMotto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j
