Esmer - It's your christmas, do what you want! - and if that means taking the phones off the hooks, so be it. I do it too. Every weekend is turning out to be pj days lately - I don't do cold and horrible dark, dismal days. I cringe every time the phone rings too - My dad retired almost a year ago, and while he had places to go and people to see in the summer, now it's cold and slippy he's latched on to me (other sisters work full time). He's on his own and lonely I suppose. This is going to sound really horrible, if he thinks he's coming to CHristmas dinner, he's got another thing coming! Every year I feel guilty, and every year I give in, but not this year.
Oops sorry I did start out trying to comfort you Esmer, but ended up ranting myself.
You take care Esmer - you have to look after DD first and yourself of course, everyone else comes after. You do whats best for you - ignore the rest, they're being selfish.
Sugarspun - If Mum says anything - count to five (under you breath) and keep smiling. It works for me (most of the time).
Rufus - your weekend sounded nice. I'm glad it went well.
Mum2one - thanks for secret santa numbers. I can't wait now. I'm such a big kid.
Sarah/didley - thinking of you both.
Juliejim - not long now.
Abandonz - Hiya.
I can't believe it - a miracle has just happend..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
My DD1 just VOLUNTEERED to help me wrap pressies. Woohoo. I'm outta here! See ya later.:):)

Three hours later I have only made a dent in wrapping - but at least I have everything all sorted into piles and oraganized. It will be quicker tomorrow. All DD did was pass me strips of cellotape - which are pre cut in one of those holder thingys that attatch to your hand, so it would have been easier doing it myself. It was nice to have company though. We played christmas carols on her laptop.
Having something to eat, fetching the kids, feeding the troups and then off out delivering Avon tonight so I'll probably either be on later tonight or tomorrow now. Have a nice afternoon/evening everyone. 12 sleeps till Christmas. woohoo.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

I`m sure i`m cracking up, I got out a little pad to make notes to people on here and started reading the thread, filled in about 3 sides of a4 paper, took an hour and thought to myself we have lots of new people on here. I blame Mary as she was on there too......lol, and then realised i was on wrong thread
mary - i know what you mean about wrapping.....
mum2one - any chance of posting miss hoodie, i`m desperate to see santa....
rufus - love the makes on your blog
sugarspun - i know what you mean about parents, my mum came out with some and when i eventually tackled her about it, took me 30 years to do it, she honestly didnt realise it hurt, thought she was helping...
esmer - I was the resident taxi and provider too, but i mover 200 mile away and i`m alot happier....:D, so leave your phone off...tell them you at cinema no signal otherwisw they worry...sometimes these mobiles are a pain, before people would ring your home and they`d assume you were out if no answer, now if you dont answer they think something awfuls happened...
elysia - you lucky thing with the wrapping, I got OH to do some of mine, but he`s so perfect, he been in spare room for over a week, he cuts paper exact size, cellotape exact size, moans about all I`ve bought....so I told him thats it and when he goes out tomorrow I`ll wrap them myself.....he not at all happy about the amount bought and I only gave him a 3rd..... Mind you he spent all day today covering a strong fruit box from lidl , i want them for my night in at the movies hampers, and i can hear him muttering now about it being awkward, i told him twice it doesnt have to be perfect....they`re throwing it out.....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -

Hello all :j
Not a good day ! OH now in hospital with broken hip(not too severe so they say -least no surgery) following yesterday fall on the ice  I stayed home thinking he'd be back this afternoon. Was 5.30pm before I could find out what was happening. They're keeping him overnight maybe longer for pain relief and mobility............looks like a commode will be taking residence along with any other ''aids'' he might need.
Lad we used to foster went out and got some shopping for me and says he'll meet me at the bank tomorrow so I can get some money and post the rest of the parcels. Got to phone hospital about 10am to see if OH can come home then get taxi to collect him -what will that cost I wonder ???
So, today Christmas was shelved and currently now looking for a ''bah humbug'' hat !:(
Shouldn't really moan..........there's always folk worse off but it does put the mockers on the ''festive'' season somewhat.
Sorry for winge:(I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Don't be daft about having a winge, your among friends, send mine and Miss Hoodies best wishes to OH, thats brilliant news that he doesn't need surgery.
Just a thought re aids / commode if they don't supply anything from hospital, do you have a Red Cross nearby as they loan out equipment.
Your lad sounds one a million, guess as they say when the chips are down you know who cares, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
