Morning All
Mary - Thinking of you and OH, hope everything goes well.
(((Hugs))) to everyone who needs one too
Sugarspun - hope you have a lovely time with your family, and yes I agree take a deep breath and count to 5. Mum's can be really infuriating, my MIL is, fortunately I have a lovely and wonderfully supportive mother.
New post I started yesterday was brilliant yesterday, everyone was really nice and there is pleanty of work for me to do, and I'm looking forward to only working 3 days :j and having a bit of time to catch up on things.
Me and the kids did cards and pressies last night for teachers, so thats another job of the list of things to do, which I'm glad about as the days are going faster and faster towards the big day. I also managed to do the kids christmas eve letters of the head elf, to go with their christmas eve hampers. Now I just need to finish wrapping and do the food shopping.
Take care everyone

morning everyone,
sorry i've not been on, been feeling abit out of sorts, not feeling christmassy at all, still havent got many pressies for my boy's, really dont know what i'm going to do, got them one outfit each and one game for their x-box/wii, and a pot of gold each, granddaughters; 1/3) made a dress, mittens, booties and bonnet, and have a teddy. 2/3) made a hoodie cardi, and have a teddy, 3/3) i'm buying one of my daughters pressies off her to give, its a bike, plus a teddy. there is just not enough pay days left for what i want to do. i'm hating it this year, usually i get a big loan/vouchers and it sorts everything out, and i pay for it thro the year, i've always made a really BIG thing of christmas with lots and lots of toys and gifts, but with all but two leaving home now, i just dont get enough anymore, i didnt realise how well off i was before.
i know this place will help me in the long run, i just found you a little too late for this year lol.
i feel really terrible for moaning, after all that you all are going thro, i just dont know what to do, no money spare and sad faces on xmas day, a mothers worst nightmare

Mary, thinking of you and OH, glad you have someone to help you xx
Restricted, sorry to hear you're finding it hard this year. All you can do is do your best. Give the ones you havent got yet IOU's and dont worry about it. Christmas isn't all about the presents anyway is it. I can remember when my two eldest were kids I didnt have any money at Christmas just had £20 to spend between them so I asked them what they wanted and they said could they have the money so I gave them £10 each and they went up the town to buy their own presents. My son must have been about 11 at the time and my daughter was about 7. When they came back they had bought me a present each out of their money and some sweets for themselves. I sat and cried my eyes out lol. We had a lovely Christmas day just the three of us, playing games and watching tele and had something like beans on toast for dinner lol. Keep your chin up and know that next year you will be so much more organised, tell them you will make it up to them next year or on their birthdays or something.
Off to see ExMil this morning. Not having the Christmas dinner round there now as she isnt doing too well health wise and is not really eating a big meal so said I will bring round some lunch and sit and chat with her for a while instead. Catch you all later Rufus xx0 -
Hello everyone
Not been on in ages but have been very busy behind the scenes.
Bought my final Christmas pressie yesterday and wrote and posted all my cards at the weekend :j I'm going to do my wrapping next week after I break up. I usually do it on Christmas Eve but I'm going to try and be a bit more organised this time.
I'm a bit worried about the weather turning bad this week as we are supposed to be driving home at the weekend. I'm also panicking about being snowed in on Christmas Day!! I'll have to eat beans on toast if we are...
Mary - so sorry to hear about your OH. At least he doesn't need an operation - hopefully he'll be back home soon and you can enjoy Christmas together.
mum2one - your scooter story made me laugh. Hope all is going well with the solicitors etc - exes are nothing but trouble in my opinion!
Everyone else, hope you are all doing well and feeling ok. (Sorry, too many people to catch up with!)
Right, better go - we've got our team Christmas lunch today (and hopefully an early finish!)0 -
I have never laught so much for AGES, so I had to share this with you guys

Hi everyone.....not been on much a last week. Have had a week of extreme emotions!! Well.....Am on no anti-depressants today....been weening off the old ones and will start the new ones tomorrow! Dont know how DH & DD have put up with me!! Have managed to get the tree up this weekend and we moved the front room around to make room for it. Am absolutley fed up with wrapping now.....why can tI just stick them in a carrier bag and hand the present over lol
Mary-Op - Sorry to hear about DH...I do hope he is better soon. xxx
Love to everyone else......I will catch up at some point.....promise!!
Love Lisi xxNever buys anything at full price unless completely forced to do so!!! :whistle:0 -
Lisi - You take care - we're thinking of you! Whatever happens come here and chat - you might feel better after talking to us.
Oh Mary, I've just heard your news. Give OH our love. I hope he's up and about soon. I hope he gets out of the hospital for you today, at least you have no travelling/visiting then. After all your hard work, don't let this spoil christmas - it'll still be OK. EVeryone else will have to chip in.
Restricted - Don't worry so much. Christmas is about being with the poeple you love, not about the presents (I blame the three kings!!!) Please be happy and enjoy yourself. I have a big tip - DO NOT get big loans, because by the time you've paid it off CHristmas is here again, and the cycle repeats itself. I know, I've been there and done that!
The money making thread is being started again on Christmas Eve. I'll give you a shout. We all do surveys and write reviews, sell odd bits of ebay, carboots etc. This raises the money all through the year to pay for the gifts at Christmas. You are very very welcome to join in. The more the merrier I say. Most of us on this thread are on the other one as well - even though it hasn't been running for a while, we all got going and most have us have more than paid for CHristmas this year from the money made on there. Have a look at the last few posts and see what you think.
Hands up everyone who is Money Neutral this year? I am and I couldn't have done it without all my friends on here and the other thread.

foxy - so sorry to hear about your Dad - how's he doing? Hope the op goes well tomorrow/thursday!
mary - Oh no!! Your gut feeling was right about your OH and that fall wasn't it!!
mum2one - lol, causing trouble again with your scooter?! lol
Sarah - glad your first day went great!!
susan - you made me lol about being on the wrong thread!!
restricted - you'll get sorted I'm sure of it!! Make the day special and magical, and the presents wont be so important!
elysia - lol at you blaming the 3 kings!! Too right! I'm NOT money neutral this year, but I've done better than in previous years! I'm up for the challenge next year!!
esmer - BIG hugs to you. I'm so busy I'm feeling the same at the moment, but I'm sure the Christmas spirit will catch us both up soon.
Well I've had a manic weekend. Saturday evening I acted in a Murder Mystery, all day Sunday I was being a medieval lady in a local town centre for their Medieval market, and yesterday although back in work proper, I spent almost all day preparing food for our staff children's chrsitmas do! I'd arranged most of the party but due to work commitments of the other two who had been helping, and knowing I'd be tied up with DD during the party (they did games and activities during the party), I spent most of the day prepping, cooking, sandwich making, organising people to decorate the room... I was shattered! DD loved it though - she's a social butterfly! lol And the look she gave Father Christmas....he's the first she's ever seen! lol
And it doesn't stop there - tonight I need to do my Avon order and bake DD's cake. Tomorrow after work I need to do a big shop for DD's birthday tea AND decorate her cake, Thursday afterwork I'm doing another Murdery Mystery, then Friday is DD's birthday!!
And as for this snow that's been forecast.....:mad::mad: GRRRRRR. I haven't the time!!
Snow snow go away come again another day..... DD's birthday might have to be postponed otherwise!Luckily, she won't know the difference being only 1!
Not wrapped anything yet either...it'll be fine.... hubby's done all his family and it's theirs that normally take me forever, so it's fine...it'll be fine....
Good thing? ALL SHOPPING DONE!! And pretty much all cards sent! Still need to decide what I'm doing for New Year table gifts though. lol Oh, there's still two things to arrive from Amazon though....fingers crossed they arrive before the snow.
Be safe all!

Hello all :j
Thanks for all your kind wished for OH. He's still in hospital. Had a scan this afternoon to check whether he'd broken his pelvis  Why they couldn't have done that yesterday heaven knows. If he has he'll be in there for a while...........if not they're still talking about him possible coming home today - we've no mobility aids that the hospital keep talking about and only a Red Cross little shop. Really it needs someone to come and look round the house and see whats needed. I can only think of putting sofa bed up and our old mattress on top but then I don't think it'd be high enough for him for getting up. Oh what a carry on.
Have sent eldest sons cards and cheque so at least him, girlfriend and grandson have got something Other stuff will have to wait till things are back to some sort of normality.
I'll put decorations up at the weekend for our lads sake otherwise I'd not bother. Never felt so ''unchristmassy''............:(
Sorry................moaning again:(I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
