    MOTHER HEN MOMENT -

I know its nothing to do with money neyutral , so apologies in advance, and hence the mother hen title.

Just a quickie re posting - Royal Mail, - theres a Royal mail thread on here, which relates to test posting, the just of it is, Kanter (the group that organises it) , arranges for you to send mail to people and them to sendyou, (we don't get paid, get 12 x 1st class stamps and 4 x 1st class large a month).

I'm one of the thest panellists, I'm really shockked, I've had two first class letters today, one was dated 10th December (thought was bad enough)m the 2nd one was dated 3rd December.

Just thinking that is anyone was going to pay bills via the postal system - going by my time delay (appriciate just one household - but guessing its going to be a nationwide problem). maybe a trip to the bank be a lot quicker. As don't want eanyone ending up with arrears, default sums etc, when you have posted in plenty of time and its Royal Mails fault, but companies won't take that into account xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Good afternoon everyone, well Dad's op was brought forward to yesterday. He went down about 2.45 and was back on the ward in the evening. Mum spoke to him, said op had gone well and apart from a sore throat he was feeling okay. We are going over to see him later, and hopefully will find out when he will be allowed home :-)
Mary, I really feel for you and OH. I agree with all other posters, get all the help you can get! My mum looks shattered from all the running about so far and dad is still in hospital so it can only get worse!
Esmer - those cakes made my tummy rumble!
Restricted - Christmas is about family and the quality time you get to spend together. It doesn't matter how much you spend as long as you make the most of what you get. Buy a board game, or one of those gingerbread houses that can be built together as a family and enjoy yourselves. All too much attention is spent on how much money these days and it shouldn't be like that.

Thanks to this thread, and lots of luck this year I am most definitely money neutral and already up for next year. DS present and quite a few others were bought with vouchers won in various competitions, plus ebay has helped out tremendously! I am going to spend this afternoon up to school fetching time wrapping presents and get everything out of the way and may have a great big ebay listing day over the weekend, if time will allow!

Love and hugs to everyone who needs them, all the good wishes are really appreciated and my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you xx

Well the patches have been removed today and have had at least 1 positive reaction, have to wait until Friday for another check up and final appt

On the negative side the reaction is caused by an ingredient in skincare products - so need to check my ingredients and see what is ok to use and what is not. One the plus side its good to find out what was causing this over the last year.

I'm coming down with a really nasty cold/cough/virus leaving me feeling dreadful today - when does this stop. Anyway while I was in town for the hospital appt I called into M+S and bought some christmassy food items in case I get worse and then its too late to shop. Have nearly everything now for food - just need to get some salad stuff, a bit of veg and a few more things so feel a bit more prepared now. Also called in at the butchers to buy some meat to put in the freezer for meals after Christmas/

If I can get it together this afternoon I'm making some stuffing to freeze and have a go at icing the cakes to take into work and get these ready then write some cards and post tomorrow

Havent been on for a while but BIG hugs to you all and even BIGGER hugs to Mary, Foxy and Restricted!

Well did the main Christmas food shop today and it was £61.00!!! OH had given me £50 for it so not too bad! Just need to get fresh food next week like veg milk and bread! Should only need to do another fresh food shop in between Christmas and New Year!
Mr T's was unbelievable due to the snow warning that has been on the weather it seemed like everyone was in there! Had to miss out a few things on the list due to shelves being bare!?

Contemplating on doing my Mince Pie making this evening or tomorrow and the Fudge before the weekend too! Then Shortbread biscuits the weekend and Chocolate slabs beginning of next week! Only need to finsh wrapping a few bits and need to get stamps and post the cards tonight!

Not money neutral as only joined September time but I have had an awful lot of bargains and I am starting to gather for next year already! Got an Amazon voucher processing and saving up points for another!

Speak soon or rather type soon! xx

    Hello all :j
Thankyou so much for your kind thoughts:)
OH came home yesterday.............oh what a farce !
After talking to nurses and having discussions about mobility aids in the morning and they wouldn't send him home until they knew how mobile he was and what he'd need.............I get phone call at 5pm...........could I arrange to collect him !
I'd been told they would arrange transport and not to worry about that.
Mobility ? He wasn't allowed out of bed till 4.30pm, walked up the ward with the aid of dads walking stick and that seemed to be ok in their books.
No commode, OH had told them he'd sleep on bed settee which is far too low but then I knew he'd say anything to get home.No mention of toilet seat and really he could do with one of those you put on to make it higher. No mention of how high any bed might be. But they were supposed to discuss this with me before discharging him.
No mention of anyone coming to the house to see if he might need anything else. They send him home with enough painkillers for 3 days and told him he was to take them regularly and get some more to get him through Christmas and New Year. They also gave him four of those cardboard things to pee in !!
He doesn't really need them and if he did he'd have to pay to get some more !
He's rung the surgery to order more painkillers and asked them to put them all on one prescription then it'll only cost £7.............if they don't he's getting his mate to drive him down there and demand to see GP.
No paperwork sent home with him so I only know he fractured his hip and chipped a bit off his pelvis which they say is 'floating around' but there's nothing they can do about it !
Seemed I got told different tale each time I rang.
Monday I was told he wouldn't need surgery but he'd been 'nil by mouth' till 1am -by then he asked for a something to eat and they gave him a cheese sandwich realising that they weren't going to operate.
Honest, I'm so mad ! I'd be on the phone creating by now but he hates fuss and he's shuffling about the house so always in earshot but am going to complain to the hospital. I really think it's disgusting and top and bottom is, the ward he was in was a two day only ward so out he had to go.

Still, least he's home...................now he'll turn into a 'grumpy old man' while I attempt to turn into Delia in the kitchen......................lol:rotfl:
My son girlfriend and little grandson aren't coming up now which is just as well..............don't think we'd cope with that.
So, almost back to normal now.
Crikey didn't realise this post was so long............if you've read it all...............thankyou:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
