CD Smiler - You could hear laughing on our floor from all corners, and people with red faces and tears....... Really cheered me right up!
Not sure if I am money neutral or not. Started it all later, but I have definitely saved a lot more, not spend as much, with the grabbit forum getting me some great bargains in November, with DD's bike being 18.00 instead of 50. So that was a massive saving
I got some hat boxes in a shop in Glasgow for 2.00 and some small T-Trays for 2.00 some decorations I'm going to use as gift tags for 40.00 Some magnets that I will keep to recover in somethingnot sure what yet, but it was 4 for a 1.00, ordered alight from next and it came in a strong box so going to use that for a big hamper
That's me I think. Have my work xmas dinner tomorrow, and dd will stay at grans so I can have a good night. Going to make some cupcakes when DD goes to bed and take them to work tomorrow as a treat for everyone. Elevenses we call itSaving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -
Bah humbug - started with a terrible chesty painful cough yesterday, dog groomer has flu so my dog will be looking like chewbacca over christmas. Took the day off specially for this appt and only just found out it was cancelled. I have 164 patches on my back for eczema testing which isn't too comfortable either
Can't get into the Christmas spirit. Anyway with a day off work tomorrow I'm aiming to write my cards, put my tree up, do as much food shopping as possible then I'll feel a bit better and more organised
Just need to fit in 1 hospital appt for the patches

mary - sorry to hear about OH hope all news in, is good, and he will be home with you asap.
realtoothfairy - sorry that you are feeling so down at the mo, it's never great when you change antidepressants, at least with starting the new ones tomorrow, things will start to look up again. Hope you are feeling the christmas spirit in time for christmas, at least enough to enjoy it.
esmer - love the link, thank you, just what's needed.
Why is it that we are always poorly at christmas time?
Ds is now much better, thank you for all the well wishes. Next instalement ( feels like a play at the mo!) dd came home from school on friday horrible rash on her face! Couldn't get to doc until monday morning, she has chicken pox, bad mother i am, thought they were just bites! oops! Rash on her face is impetigo, so bless her, really suffering. Hopefully with antibiotics will be feeling alot better in a few days. Although is now to be isolated for two weeks, so missing out on all of last week at school and party's that she was so looking forward to. Then just to top it off I have caught tonsilitis, thanks to lovely ds, lots of pj days ahead for us i think, every cloud and all that. lol.
ds and dd did some painting and hand prints today on huge paper so will be used to wrap pressies for family from the kids. will be a nice touch.GC Jan £200/£200.78 Feb £250/£156.07

Mary - Ask for the hospital to arrange for an occupational therapist to come and do an assessment if mobility is going to be a huge problem for OH. They should also be able to loan you equipment. My friends Mum had a hip replacement and they loaned her a special frame to go around loo and walking frames and lots of other bits to make life easier. Big Hugs.
Also big hugs to everyone else who needs them, I still dont have the Christmas vibe. Whole thing seems stressful and angst ridden this year and thats with me having been quite organised! I still have a few presents to buy, tonnes to wrap and fast running out of time to do it all in!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
Big hugs for Foxy, Mary, Restricted, piglet and anyone else who needs or wants one.
We're halfway through my parents' visit and nary a mention so far of my wobbly belly, think tomorrow I shall wear something skintight just to taunt her! Actually it's been really nice, lots of walking in the beautiful fine snow today and we're all shattered now, except the baby who had a massive 4-hour nap and then a cheeky extra hour so she's still up and full of beans.
I'm a bit annoyed though, I tried to organise the Best Gift Ever for my daughter to give DH but couldn't buy it myself. I transferred the money to a friend the week before last, she bought it last Tuesday and said she'd post it Tuesday or Wednesday. I offered to get a courier but she refused, and then she didn't post it till todayI am hopeful that it will arrive in time for Christmas but not holding my breath. Still, as long as it gets out of Scotland before the snow hits...
Hope everyone's doing well and looking forward to it, and if you're not big hugs and I hope the Christmas spirit sneaks up on you.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

It shouldn't be for Mary to ASK for this to happen. Her husband should not come home until this HAS taken place. Its their duty of care to ensure that he is able to live at home. I know it can be a B***ache to have to go into hospital but a nightmare to be at home without the aids necessary to enable independence (as much as he can)
I do hope that he is home soon and the NHS pull their finger out!Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
Mary-op i can understand how stressful this is! Mollie has been in hospital for 2.5 weeks now. Some one asked her son in law if he could measure the space between floor and bed floor and arm chair , floor and loo ect. Then told them what they would need for her to be able to access the above , then they made her practice and prove distances she can walk (with zimmer frame) and doing stairs (she lives alone in 3 bed house.) And she is still in the recovering , doing physio , luckily with ur dh not having surgery and living with you he wont have to stay in as long but please make sure they have the write stuff put in your home for him as over doing it by trying to hoist up on things ect will only make things worse , best wishes to him xxx
I am with you all on the stressed wagon! Although I am 3/4 done present wise I am going to be having a conversation about borrowing money from parents later to finish it off.. plus I still pay money every day to see Mollie!
Also just trying to finish English essay off.. will be a late night tonight finishing that.
Managed to wrap 6 presents so far lol woop! xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!
