Oh mum2one - BIG hugs for you. Nothing much I can say really, just that we're here if you need a good moan!!
esmer - oh gosh, what is it with these exes?!?!?! Hugs to you too!
Elysia - thanks for that, that's great, but I was wondering if there was anything puzzly I could make myself?!?! I dunno......Quiz questions maybe a way around it?! I'm going to have a go at those boxes though - they're such a pretty shape! Could possibily use them for table gifts....
Right, apart fromt he table gifts, I think.... I'm.... DONE!! Wooo! Found a pressie for hubby yesterday so that's ordered. Just have a few bracelets to make, cards to write and pressies to wrap! But I'm so relieved! I can concentrate on DD's birthday a week tomorrow now. Pressies all got for that, but need to sort out the tea party!
Thank you all. You've all been fantastic. (Oh, and I've spent £251 this year (£100 less than last year), hubby has spent about £270 not including what he's spent on me - god knows how much that is! And the total RRP of everything we've bought - £1090!!! Wooooo!)

Well done cdsmiler, thats a big saving this year.
I have had a go at the favor boxes and some napkin holders. Got the main pattern for the boxes from the site elysia linked to but decided to make up my own napkin holders after all. Pictures on my blog, Rufus xx0 -

Rufus - Blogger won't let me comment but those favour boxes and your table look lovely. The shirts look great too - you must have saved a fortune.
I saw some sheets (posh percale ones) on the debenham wesite the other day. They were single and flat sheets. You could use those to make shirts out of if they are cheap enough. One of the presenters on QVC has all his made from high thread count sheets (Simon Biagi - used to read the weather). I'm not sure but with cutting it carefully, I would expect you'd get two shirts out of it, and it only cost £4. Would that work out any better than what you were paying? Oh forgot to say, they weren't patterned just plain, so would be Ok.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Elysia I will have a look at the sheets, would work out a good price. The school blouses I made for my daughter are from sheet material. I have been looking everywhere for normal shirt fabric, the ones I have used so far are poly-cottons, dont know what they will be like once washed. Its hard to find patterns on the fabric though that would look right for a mans shirt. Every time a bloke is on the tv now I am looking at their shirts lol and wondering where the fabric comes from. Must be somewhere that sells it, you know like the stripey stuff etc.0

cdsmiler - what about mini christmas themed journal jars, a jar fancy ribbon round it with a label on front...say 5 questions inside that they have to fill in, they could then read them at the table e.g. what is your fave christmas memory, what is your best present so far today, etc and between the slips of paper u could add some chocs???0

I am so loving this being organised business... I bought an extra present for husband today - a game that was 37 has been reduced to 27 today and I traded in one of my old games for 10.00 so I only paid 17:j
Then I went into morrisons to get something for tea and it was packed. The queues were huge, a good reminder to stay stocked up on food and just get home deliveries.
Just need to give this house a jolly good blitz now,
there's piles of stuff everywhere, including decorations, so once we get the tree up and decorated the house should look a little better.
I had to dig my wheelie bins out this morning as well and they still haven't been?!?!?0 -
mum was in morrisons and she got me the chocolates 3 for 1
So got three boxes of roses for the price of one, as thats all they had left. But as im putting thme into little gift trangle boxes it doesnt matter

Goodness me - I hadn't thought about the rubbish!
It's warmer here today- 3 degrees. I even went to pick up DD from school in my Birkenstock sandles. (Sp doesn't look right) I got some funny looks but hey they're comfy.
That TV presenter I was talking about Rufus uses the QVC brand (northern nights sheets) but I'm not sure I've seen him wear a patterned shirt before. What is it with men and shirts? My Dad will only wear white or pale blue, and they have to be short sleeved - Nightmare to find in the winter!
Feeling Christmassy today- I'm sat here with my Quacker factory jumper on. Bet you can't beat that? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
ETA: Santa jumper and sandles - What a fashion combination  Do you think it'll catch on???I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
