    Hi all

Been off here for week due to whole family having gastroenteritis, very messy! I have finally caught up on here but have completely forgot everything, sums me up!

pipsmum sorry to hear about oh, i hope it sorts it self out, or he finds something soon.

I have been browsing crafting forum so great ideas on there especially to give chocolate/sweets. I finished my first sock monkey yesterday when ds was having nap, it's turned out better than i expected but definately have room for improvement, lol. My ds came down though and spotted it before i put it away, he jumped up and down shouting monkey, monkey (so at least it looks like monkey, can't be too bad!)

I went into town today in home bargains they had a cristmas craft box for £2.99, meant for 3 years and up, can make small christmas bags, coasters, cards, ornaments, photo frames etc. bought one for ds to work through then will be able to give things he's made to people for christmas. Can't wait to get stuck in.

Hope everyone is good and plans are well underway,

  • Hi everyone

pipsmum - that's not great news about your OH's job. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen. I got made redundant a couple of years ago but it all worked out ok, I got a contracting job for a while so I could look for something more permanent.

mum2one - best behaviour award? Very impressive!! Hope Miss Hoodie enjoyed the cakes with the headmaster.

cdsmiler - I'm not a cougar either so don't worry! :rotfl:

Got a mail today saying my order from the cake website was on it's way, then I got home to find a parcel had been delivered. No idea what that could be! Will have to go to the post office at the crack of dawn tomorrow to find out.

Just got back from Asda, bought everything for my Christmas cake bar the brandy - will send OH to get that tomorrow. I'm going to do it on Saturday after I've been to the dogs home. I'm hoping it turns out at least edible! (If not then I expect everyone will be too polite to say otherwise! :))

    You're all so organised!

I am stuck doing the school PTA accounts for the next couple of nights :( Though once done, I am retiring from the PTA (too much work, no thanks and a whole load of grief from the new militarian chairperson! It used to be fun... not anymore!!)

Once that's out of the way, I can get back onto my christmas jobs!

I was thinking today of giving all my colleagues a little present (cheap of course!). I noticed on one thread someone (apologies - I cant remember who - there are so many fab ideas here) did some shortbread biscuits in a star shape, in a cello bag, tied with a ribbon. I have 30 colleagues - do you think that would be too much work?! Or should I do a job lot and put them in a pretty basket in the staff room? :)

Anyone else doing presents for colleagues?

Chillout, we might even be neighbours LOL, I live near Bristol, always envious of all the talk about those cheap stores too.

Hi there Angela. Sorry for not getting back sooner, I've been overloaded a bit for a few days. Far less demands on me now so I can sort myself out.

If you like bargain shopping, have you seen the new shop in Broadmead's Galleries in the old Woolies? Called Family Bargains. Loads and loads of bargains. I bought 10 1.5lt oblong click and close boxes for 99p each!!! They £4< in supermarkets. Been very satisfying putting all my flours and sugars in them so they are tidily 'filed' on the top shelf, rather than having loads of bags rammed in there that fall on your head when I'm trying to get to the one at the back!!! It is trying to be model itself on woolies, but is considerably cheaper. The design quality on homewares isn't as good though. But well worth a look.
