  • Hi everyone

I've just ordered a load of stuff from www.cakescookiesandcraftsshop.co.uk - they have loads of nice boxes and things for putting cupcakes and chocolates in. Plus tons of other bits for baking - I only spent about a tenner including P&P and I got quite a lot. Thought it would be good for some bits and pieces to go in my hampers. Might make it look a bit more professional - despite what the contents might end up looking like!

elysia - the definition of a cougar is "a woman older than 30 who pursues younger men!!!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
  • I wrapped my aunts and uncles this afternoon whilst DS was at playschool, I will do some each week so that they are done but will probably wait until December before I do the kids ones.

Thats all I did do today :o oh and speech therapy, best get on and do something then.

Well done Mummyslittleboy - I got 'volunteered' to take the kids in nieces class to the library - after 30 screaming kids - yes IN the library!!! I think I deserved a sit down so I've been on here all afternoon! LOL Goodness me. I haven't a clue how DD1 is going to cope (she is doing teacher training and can't even cope with her sister!) :D

Thanks for the info Cookiecrumbs ;)

Blimey - so much to catch up on!! lol

djstar - glad you had a lovely birthday weekend!

mum2one - Thanks for that - I didn't see any seeds when I was out shopping though....will keep an eye out! And had to lol @ Miss Hoodie! Cougar! lol

chillout - you've been through the mill! Glad things are on the up for you!

dramarama - incase anyone else hasn't answered, you can ffreeze them before cooking OR after!

cookiecrumbs - love that shop, but can't afford to spend on there at the moment! lol

Sorry, missed loads of you, but you've all been SO busy and are doing so fabulously!!

Well, Friday went to Poundland and Homebargains to pick up some bits and bobs. Bit disappointed though as they didn't have the things I wanted but picked up a few little things I can probably be crafty with. Poundland also had some extra wide wrapping paper which was useful!

Saturday didn't do too much (was at my friend's house for a catch up overnight so was expecting to be recovering from a hangover, but no! Yeay!) but made some bits of jewellery - should take pictures I suppose. Not 100% happy with them, but I'm a memory wire convert that's for sure! lol Bought our flights for our July holiday though - not exactly MSE but it was the cheapest we'd seen them yet, so went for it!

Sunday was at my parents with DD which ill hubby struggled to revise at home. We made Nigella's sweet chilli jam (easy!) and Red Onion Chutney....this was a bit of a nightmare, took a LOT longer than expected to reduce!! In fact when I left it still had ages to go....hmmmm. Was smelling gorgeous though! Have a blister from slicing onions though! :(
Tried the "apple and rhubard jam" and "green bean & green tomato chutney" we made a month ago while I was there - the chutney needs a few more weeks, but the jam was yummy!!

Oh, last week bought a lovely VW campervan ceramic salt and pepper set for my best friend (she loves camper vans!) so her pressies are pretty much sorted (birthday and Christmas) - she's pretty easy to buy for so have been collecting bits for a while. The salt and pepper set only cost £4.99 so I was quite pleased.

My dad has actually told me what he wants for Christmas now (this early?! Not like him! lol) so I'll get started on that too. Collecting Amazon vouchers well - I'm due a payout from Greasypalm and that's over £30 worth of Amazon vouchers, so that'll help!

Still ticking away on the 90 pressies for my Nan's 90th....

Anyway, will be on a bit more regular now it's the working week! lol

elysia - the definition of a cougar is "a woman older than 30 who pursues younger men!!!"

    Ooops............I must be a cougar then.............lol:rotfl: Met OH when I was 40 and he's 10 years younger than me................lol:rotfl::rotfl:

Further ooops.........sorry djstar -forgot your birthday............glad you had a good one and belated ''happies''

Managed to get a little bit done today...........covered a gravy tub :T Not sure what's going in it but I just had to cover it.........oh and covered an old anadin box......just the right size for the ''smile'' pebble (last one of them -I think) -was going to find another box to cover but managed toi concoct a sort of 'sachet' out red card to put the health food free samples I got for my son.
Oh and I did my glass of guiness.........scarf and I found a sort of dish cloth that'll do for the top..........might have to re-do it with a white flannel but least I know I can do it:)
    And...........yes there's more........lol...............I made two more fabric hearts................:rotfl:
Not much for a days work really but good for me..............lol:rotfl:

I don't know anything about this dooyoo thing.....anything that would earn something would be handy.
Young girl who does my cleaning is coming up tomorrow................:T Much needed and I've missed her company since she's not been well. Having my hair done in the morning -too many bad hair days to think about !!

Seems like you've all had busy days again......
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi all

I love coming on here and reading the posts, always gives me that 'cosy fireside' feelng.

On the subject of cougars, I wonder what Miss Hoodie would think of Molly Parkin then - I was reading over the weekend that she was having a fling with a 23 year old surfer that she had met when she was 74!

Mind you I also wonder at the amazing coincidence of names with Madonna age about 53, having a toy boy b/f for a couple of years called Jesus, now aged about 22.

I have never seen a craft site as good as this one -

    http://www.favecrafts.com/

There are free videos, free newsletter, free Ebooks and 1000's of articles and instructions with photos too!

Every imaginable thing on there, for all seasons and as for Mary and her covering over...........:) I saw so many potential projects, made me dizzy!

Whatever you do DO NOT sign up for email newsletters Anglea. I did about a fortnight or three weeks ago, and I've had tonnes of spam since!!!

When you pick your way through it though, there's some beauties on there! I want to make it all.

CDsmiler - There must be something going on, my Dad told me what to buy him today too. :)

It was a model of an old three wheeler car (a messerschitt) Goodness knows what he wants it for. There was one on ebay (it's a collectors item so was still in box) I waited until the last 15 - 20 seconds to place my bid, so no-on else has a chance to up their bids and it had ended. The timer on the site must be a bit out. Grrr

Mary - you floozie! ;) My sister is a cougar too - she's 37 and just broke up with an 18yr old.

    Evening everybody

Not very happy here in the Pip household as OH might not have a job next month, just befor Christmas.............NICE! Good Job I am organised and got a lot done already.

Ive found this group on Facebook. They allocate you a British Squaddie (parcels have to be sent to a specific person) and you can send parcels and cards out to them. Its another nice variation on the Christmas shoe box.

Hope everyone has a good week xx
