Hello everyone
Hope you all had a good weekend, sounds like it's been a busy one for most of you!
I had my friend and her new baby staying for the weekend so not got much done really. Went to the shops in Telford and managed to get some lovely candles from B&M - they're gingerbread and something or other and they smell gorgeous. They had loads of other flavours - including all the Christmassy ones - only 99p each. They're just like the Yankie Candle ones. Also got a box of candy canes for my sister's sweet jar for 69p.
Am DEFINITELY going to make a start on the Christmas cake next weekend - OH is out all day on Saturday (and probably hungover all day on Sunday :rotfl:) so will give me plenty of peace and quiet to get on with it. I bought a tin in Dunelm a couple of weeks back, it's a big square one and I think it was only a couple of quid. Never made Christmas cake before - let's hope it turns out edible!!0 -
Those cakes look divine Susan, well done xx0

Hello all :j
Phew !! Just wore myself out reading through all the posts from yesterday !"!
Chillout -best wishes and hope all goes well for you. Sounds like you've had a real time of it all. You're in the right place here........everyone is so nice....like a load of real friends/family.......good luck :T
elysia.............you sound so busy you're wearing me out.............slow down, just a little bit......lol:rotfl:
susan - yes I'm fine...........been up to my neck in sticky tape and pritt stick (whats new..........lol) but I haven't actually covered anything...........:rotfl:
Oh eck.........I know I've missed loads of people out so sorry about that........if I scroll back I'll only be forgotten again by the time I get back here........lol (call it a senior moment.........!)
Had busy day..........well sort of. Managed to find stuff on the internet about pebbles with stones in and the fact they're supposed to be luckly so printed that out to go with the four key rings I've done that I've added the pebbles to. Just make them more interesting (I hope!)
Filled up sons girlfriends shoe box for her birthday (now they're back together again), sons box is full up -apart from two free samples of some 'health food' stuff I've got and he's into all that sort of thing. Sure I can make a sort of packet to put them in.
Wanted to make some felt gingerbread men but hadn't got enough of the right colour felt.......meant to make some more fabric hearts and soft trees........(I need 48 hours days!) Still got tea towel to sew patchwork border round......maybe tomorrow if I get some black cotton.
So, thats my day..........so far.......OH making noises now with plates and there's a lovely smell of chicken................;)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Not majorly Christmas related, but I thought you guys might know!
Does anyone know where you can buy plastic lolly sticks?
I want to make some of these http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/brownies-on-a-stick/d03cb0c5-d1d2-4d6c-ada9-0831f47613f6 but I have a thing about wood, especially wooden lolly sticks, hate them (crazy I know lol), so was wondering if anyone knew!
Not thinking of doing them as presents though, well, unless I found time on Christmas eve, but just thought they might be nice to have around to snack on when people visit at Christmas time.Sealed Pot challenge #508

Janeliz -I've googled and you can get the lollipop sticks (the round ones like Chupa chups) on ebay, but not the shape of wooden sticks (ie. flat). I don't think they'd be any good.
Susan -Those cakes and chocs look wonderful. I really wished you lived by me! You're so lovely, looking after people.
Mary - I've not done much myself this weekend. I've been on computer most of the weekend trying to find bargain Christmas presents.
I've done DD2 for her birthday (January, but there's nothing left in the shops by then) and Christmas now. That's unless I find more bargains. I am still have money in the separate Christmas account too, from earnings from eBay, surveys, quidco, etc.
Just got to get Dad (no idea)
Stepdad birthday and Christmas.
Mom something for Christmas (have got her birthday stuff)
Neice 21st Bday and money for Christmas
Nephew Money for Christmas.
That's it - everyone else is done!!!! I'm so happy.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Hello everyone
Thank you all for the birthday wishes - I have had a fantastic time!!!
My trip away was so lovely - B&M and home bargains are soooooo fab - we spent hours in them and brought loads in each shop! They have so many great deals, I couldn't get over how cheap everything was! Tictacks cost 57p a pack where we live and they were 19p a pack in home bargains, I actually checked the date on them as I thought that they must be out of date but they were in date until april next year! They had a minnie mouse lip balm for 29p and even the non branded lip balms where we live are over 50p, branded are over a pound! They also had a minnie mouse back pack and I had been searching for one of these for ages and the cheapest I could find where we live was £8 - home bargains had them for £2.99!!!! Oh my god, there were so many great finds I could go on forever but I won't bore you with all the details lol!
Apart from all the great shopping, it was also lovely to just get away and have some time, just me and hubby and have a break from the kids!
I absolutely fell in love with Hemle Hampstead and I'm really considering re-locating there as it was a beautiful place and everyone was so much more friendly then where we live.
Today has been lovely, been spoiled by family - hubby did a tea party for me this afternoon and my sister and her bf came which was lovely! I am one very happy bunny lol!
Hope everyone else has had a good weekend too? xx0 -

Asda have an entertainment promotion running at the moment.
They have Wii play - usually £35 - £45 now only £29.97
Zhu Zhu pets DS game usually £25 - £28 now only £15. These are the two I bought - there are loads on offer!
There is a code on the Tesco codes for Tesco Entertainment, worth 300 cc points (£12 in deals) you can use it to pre-order Toy Story 3 for £9.99 (so free if you think of it like that). I pre-ordered three but you can only use the code once.
