I have just made dd 4 teachers snowman soup, they turned out better than i expected. Although one of the cones split as i was tying up the hot choc section, i got covered!!! lol all adds to the fun.

I used werthers, quality street big gold covered sweet, ferrero rocher and lots of gold coins.

Hello John's wife - thanks for the tip about the Gold bars.

Join in here when you can, you are most welcome.

Thanks for the idea of putting wine and chocs in with a cookery book mummyslittleboy. Have bought sister cupcake stuff and a Hairy bikers autographed book for Christmas, think I might put her wine and chocs in instead of Apron and oven gloves, as I'm sure she has those already.

    Happy 8th Birthday Miss Hoodie

I've been and picked up my bargain DS games for Elysia. Had a coffee and chat with my friend in Marks. Had a mooch around the shops. My friend bought her first Christmas present today and I'm nearly finished - how happy was I! ;). I found a nice handbag and thought I'd treat myself. It was £16 reduced to £12.60, I got to the till and it was £9. Woohoo. I love a bargain! :rotfl:

The wine is on offer in Asda £3.00 a bottle and the chocs were on offer in the co-op for £2.00.

Well done on your bargain handbag elysia2003, None of my friends have started there xmas shopping yet, still at least we can all sit back and enjoy xmas while they are all frantically scouring shops for there presents.

  • Afternoon all

Happy Birthday to FedUp and Miss Hoodie.

I dont know if any of you have seen it but the £1 for 12 issues of the Radio times is on. It should cover the double Christmas / New Year edition too. I ordered this last year and was great value for £1:

I havent done anything Christmassy today but do intend on doing my freezers out tomorrow as well as all my kitchen cupboards.
  • Happy Birthday to Miss Hoodie - hope you have a great day

Thanks again to everyone who has wished me an early happy birthday too

Good idea adding a cookbook and a bottle of wine - I think I will add the HM blackberry and apple gin to mine for mum when its ready in a few weeks time. Will have a think about a cookbook. Maybe a nice HM nice recipe version one maybe the Hairy Biker's 'Mum Knows Best' sounds pretty good and fits in with the theme too.

When I get back from holiday I will look out for the glass desert bowls, cookbook and then finish off my brother's present and all will be done!

    Xmas Saver!
A massive thank you from Miss Hoodie for all her birthday wishes, she had a gd day, she was over the moon with her DSI XL, so promised her at the weekend will set it up, got screen protecters etc. Lucky the game bailey brought her from Amazon came this morning, thou she doesn't know whether she likes it.... its based an mayan temple - looks like the one in Mexico. I gave her an IOU as well for 2 games (only ordered Monday ngt) but shes guessed the one is art academy, but doesn't know the other is Cooking mama 3, (they were on her I want lists).

Good news just got my end of course assisgnment finished in time, gave up at 3am this morning, but done half - the worse half all the fiddly bits, got up at 7.30 with Miss Hoodie - she only wanted her presents at 6am this morning!!

But have to confess nearly fell asleep in chair, so went back to bed for 40 winks, started it again at 10am, then its been a day of days, we had 3 lots of visitors, just got it wrote and spell checked at 4.45pm, then realised needed to send 3 copies, mad rush, printer ran out paper then had a dicky fit, got sorted sent dad to post office - got there with 1 min to spare, and the good news was the postman was meant to collect at 4.45pm but was running late, so now have proof of posting to say went 29th - weighed - right amount of postage and fingers crossed they should get it tomorrow or Fri at the latest and then 6 weeks for marking.

So now off to pub for Miss Hoodies bday tea.

Do plan to be more organised for next weeks assisgnment.......xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

cdsmiller - the 90 box sounds fab, we've done them for mum for her50th, 60th + 65th, dad did his 70th, mates 40th, I always find ladies are easier to do - more choice.
If its a dozen red roses, then I would class them as 12, maybe some IOU vouchers, say pay for a cut and blowdry, you can range the items from any value, daft things like a pencil case set with pencils, some sample size toilettries etc. xx

Thanks mum2one! (Btw, love the map wrapping idea!)
And well done on getting your assignment done on time!!!!
If you look up mamas and papas stockist and see if you can find a small independant one in your area (not the big stores like mothercare etc) then they should be able to order it for you but you might have to go into the shop to pay for it and collect but they shouldnt charge you postage;)

cdsmiler - re mamas and papas, i live a stones throw from the factory shop, I could go see if they got any if you want, was in the other day looking at pushchairs for friend whos going to be a grandmother. If they got any I could bring it down to wales on 1st december, visiting cousin in markham.

Thank you both but the rocking horse is an internet offer only, and they ONLY deliver to the house!! Booooo.

fedupandskint - blinking exes!! He sounds like a right trouble maker! Definitely better off without - don't tell my hubby, but the two years I was single after leaving my ex (grumble grumble) and before getting together with my hubby was one of the BEST times of my life!!! LOVED IT! Happy birthday for Sunday though! :D Have a fab time away!
