Qaphsiel - £1 a day sounds ace, how do i sign up ? and when did it start
Hello Susan, basically pop £1 into a jar, tin etc everyday for the 100 days before Christmas. The 100 day marks was was 12 days ago (i think today is 88 days to Christmas) so i already have £12 in my jar. You can adjust the amount to suit - £2 will give you £200 - 50p - £50 etc etc. As the sales start Boxing day i am usually broke by then so for last couple years i have done this so at least i have a bit for the sales. If there is a temptation to dip in it you can get the sealed tins from places like the £shop or 99p stores or EBay that you can only open with a tin opener. Good luck
Does anyone have any ideas what i could put in a Twilight Hamper for a 40yrs+ adult female. I want to make one for my childrens step mum. She already has the DVD's and Books. So far all i have got is a Jacob book mark for 99p from Play.com. Any ideas as i am really stuck. Was going to pop in a candle, bottle wine and choccies but any other ideas????
I am going to do my freezers Friday morning when they are almost empty before i do a shop Friday evening as part of the santa challenge. Have sorted out Halloween costumes. Wrote all the lists yesterday and worked out pressies for teachers. Just now need to make £10 for the secret Santa0 -
cdsmiler - i did 30 presents for my OH for his 30th and got him a set of coins for the year he was born. May be some bits for the year she was born would be nice. How about also making a sort of scrap book with things that happened in her early years? Most of us always reminisce about the teen years so may be something about the clothes they wore, things they could buy etc. If I think of anything else I will let you know xx
PS you can get coins quite cheaply on Ebay, even a penny from the year she was born would be nice xx0 -
Qaphsiel - re the Twilight hamper, you can buy iron on transfers on Ebay (or you could, have to have a look, sure they will still be selling them), you could buy one and iron it onto a canvas bag, they are not dear to buy a plain one. I bought some transfers and put them on plain fabric and made them into cushions for my teenage daughter for Xmas last year. Another thing I did was I bought some cardboard drawers in a charity shop (always finding them in our shops) which are small like you could keep jewelry and small bits and pieces in, then I covered them with photos of the Twilight peeps. Another thing I did was buy some pens that you print out something like a pic or name and put it in the pen to make it personal, I bought a pack of about 5 off Ebay and printed out an insert with Twilight on and my daughters name and she loved the pen. You could may be use the others up for other people if you needed some more gifts. You can do rulers like this too although she might be too old for a ruler lol. How about a note book and cover that with pics of Twilight? Bar of chocolate and print out a new label for it with Twilight on it? You could even do this for bottle of wine, soak label off and print out new one. Will see if I can think of any more xx0

Nickybo - hope you find out what is causing your eye trouble, as others have said it will be better knowing and find out what can be done about it than not knowing. I don't know the symptoms for glaucoma but I do have thyroid problems and although I have never had this eye problem the list of symptoms you can get is as long as your arm and I do suffer from most of them.0

Thanks Rufusd some fab ideas. I could buy a couple cheap cushions (ikea)and iron on the transfers as i havent got a sewing machine and i am awful at sewing. The pens and notebooks, choccie and wine wrappers sound great and something i can get my children help do so at least they have taken part in it too. :T Thank you0 -

Hello all :j
Crikey you've all rabbitted on so much I've forgotten where I was and who said what.........lol:rotfl:
Nicky - don't panic over your eyes.......GP or optician are far better than google for anything like that. I used to have to go to opticians every year for a 'pressure' test in case of glaucoma but don't have to now.
inked -welcome to the thread:T
elysia - a card was the least I could do to thank you:T
pipsmum -don't fret about your grandad -I'm sure its just the medication.:)
mum3one - argos............few years back I thought I'd be really organised and order everything from argos online...............never again.........seemed everything I wanted had sold out early on and I was that miffed
mrssow-good to see you back
Can't remember who asked but there's loads of room in my bucket..............lol:rotfl:
sorry if I've forgotten anyone........:)
Well, apart from answering the phone several times (at last education just might be sorted out for our lad here) and varnishing the last of the ''smile'' pebbles and the index box I've covered for recipe cards I've done not a lot .................did open a lot of packages I'd ordered...........leggings, jumper, another jumper and jeans -jeans too short.....silly me ordered wrong inside leg:o Didn't bother to unwrap coat I'd ordered as I got the ''bargain'' arctic fleece last week at charity shop ! Catalogue came with the delivery (drool, drool,) so browsed through that again and again..............lol:rotfl:
(note to self-tomorrow ''must get on and do something!'')I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Found these in the clearance section of Argos, got them yesterday ready for gardening hampers
Suttons Kids Tasty Vegetable Twin Pack.
042/7298- Less Than Half Price
- £2.49
- was £7.99
Suttons Grow Your Own Windowsill Herbs.
042/7308- Less Than Half Price
- £2.49
- was £7.99
Best bet is the item is 2 trays - thought the bottom was just a spare container but its a double of the top, so I'm splitting them up and it doesn't looklike they've been split.
xx

Ooh this thread is really moving now! Exciting times reading what everyone is up to!
Qaphsiel - On the Grabbit Board somebody mentioned getting a Robert Pattinson Twilight book from £land plus Twilight Advent calender although that may be a bit late to have on Christmas day!
Rufus - You have had some fab ideas there!
Mary - Glad you might finally be getting somewhere with the education!
Well I bought another can of gold spray from town and came home and sprayed the 10 plant pots again, left them on the grden table to dry and whilst I was taking DS to toilet the heavens opened! Managed to get them in and left them to dry! Thank God they are all ok! Although I only have 9 and have searched the garden and house but cannot find the missing pot!!!
Anyway when in town I bought some chocolate things for Mums hamper! Here they are for any1 else doing a chocolate hamper!
