    Morning all

Went on Vistaprint to try to do the photo calendars as they have an offer of 2 free. Every photo I uploaded said the resolution was low and they would print blurry booooooooooooooooooooooooo! Is there any way to change the resolution of your photos? Theres probably a really simple way but I am a bit thick!

I ordered one calendar and didnt notice if it said this, the calendar arrived it its great. I then started work on another one (alot of the pics from same camera as pics used on first calendar) and I noticed it said the same as you. I ordered the calendar anyway and am just waiting for it to arrive. I think it should be any day now so if you want to, hold off till I have got mine and I can let you know if it makes a difference?

I cant see the 2 free calendars offer :( is it through a cashback site?
  • Just checked the one I ordered and pressed on edit and a few of the pictures have that low resolution error but I didnt notice any difference when I got it! I would double check now but its packed away in my christmas wardrobe!

Hi, I spent last night reading from the beginning of this thread and only got to page ten. Do you think it is worth me reading through or just keeping up with you all now as I think will take forever to get to the end, plus going away for a ten day break in a couple of weeks so got lots to do, but if I am going to miss out on some great ideas, will try. What do you think?

  • Esther,

If I were you I would read backwards for recent bargain ideas or go from pg1 forwards for present ideas. You could try and skim read for ideas that jump out at you and skip past the chattiness of the thread.

Most recent stuff on here has been homemade jam and chutney making, recipes for Christmas presents and then present ideas as cheap as possible

Or, just start from which page its up to when you come back from your break and start afresh from there and if you need any help or ideas or suggestions, just ask and I'm pretty sure one of us will be able to help out

Have a nice break and hope to see you back on here!

Thanks giggles, might just order them anyway as its not like I will lose much.

I tried finding the free calendars from the cashback site and couldnt find them so I think they have done something to the settings. Here is the link for the free calendars x x

Claire - You have done amazing with the Avon, and your friends jewellery. I don't know how much the articles are for the silver clay set u have, could you make them for christmas / birthday?

    xx

To be honest, I just need to look at it - it's not stuff I can whip out, have a go at, and whip away again in. It's proper lay-out-on-the-table type stuff. Plus we really need to be raising money for our hols next year, so if I do make stuff, I'll probably sell it unless I create something that I think a certain person might love!

    Hi all

Thanks Clare re Mr A - you wouldn't believe this, but I wrote a post to you just now and had to delete it because I totally misread Asda, and thought you said Argos - so as you can imagine I was a bit stunned they were selling food :rotfl:

    Lol!! :rotfl: Love it!

    COMPLAINING WORKS:
Just had some FAB news!! To make a very long story short....
Bought new bed last August, cost £1000 (silly silly silly...) - by May the mattress was sagging - complained to Dreams (won't be touching them with a barge pole again!). They arranged for inspection - guy never turned up - complained to inspection company - rearranged date - guy who came was in foul mood, made me feel uncomfortable in own home, and his report said it was 'wear and tear' (in 9 months?!). Dreams tell us this, but perfectly happy to replace base anyway (too right - it had a big dent in the top where my head is!!) - not surprising really when the base arrived and we saw the cost - £120!!! That's all! Complained (IN WRITING!!!) to Dreams, inspection company, and demanded a response within 14 days or would be taking further (listed big wig independant inspection companies amongst others). Both companies phones, apologised (first set of apologies we;d had) and arranged for new senior inspector to come for free (they wanted to CHARGE!). Eventually he came (took a while - as it needed to be a day I was home), LOVELY guy, inspected the bed a week ago. Today, phone call from Dreams, they're going to replace our mattress!! Either for same one, or for another and they'd refund the difference!

WOooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Big chat with hubby tonight about what to do - same mattress or cheaper one and use the extra money for holiday next year?!

Sorry, so pleased. Been going on for SO long. Had to share. :T

  • Well done for remaining calm Clare and getting a good outcome. I thought Dreams were this type of company too

  • Hi Everyone

Just picked my car up from the garage - MOT today - cost £215 . Nothing is ever cheap where cars and me are concerned. It's my OH's mates garage so I know he didn't rip me off either. Very annoying. Roll on pay day (still 2 weeks to go and counting.)

Clare - well done with Dreams, I find a strongly worded letter always helps matters, especially if you chuck in a few companies you might escalate it to...

mum2one - like your suggestion about the glitter pens - might have a go (don't have any children to do it but it sounds like fun!)

susan - thanks for the offer of sending the tags, have PM'd you my address.

    See you later :)
  • Glad you got your money back clare and so glad I read your post as was looking at a bed in dreams last week but had decided to wait until after christmas now I will look elsewere.

Have finished the basket of chocolates for my nan, basket from freecycle and choccies from all the offers that have been on so total cost £5.60

DS's train table has arrived and it is to heavy for me to get it upstairs so need to wait for neighbours sons to get home from work luckily it is in a brown box and he cant tell what it is.

QUEENB - excellent news on the bullying, well done you :T

TQ16 - Good luck with the sock monkeys, i love them, i done a zebra. One bag of filling will be more than enough for 3 . Sorry you`re feeling under the weather and hope you`ll be fine soon

MUMTOONE - well done on making your jewellery. I can see a nice little business starting here.

I been out today over the market, brought back loads of bargains, took OH with a rucksack to carry, knew I`d find a use for him

There was a stall selling trendy polo shirts for a £1 so I had three of those, bought a pair of walking trousers for £3 which I`ve put on ebay. They were £45 originally named make so fingers crossed for them. I got a toastrack in the shape of sheep for DD £2 , real price £19.99. (Wish I`d bought more)

I got a knitted hoody for me £5 reduced from £25, a hood for SIL for xmas £5 originally £29.99

I bought loads of sweets because they were so cheap for my pots of gold.

3 enormus boxes of malteasers £ 5, not sure they`ll last until xmas :o

A wash mitt for a baby in the shape of a dog for a Baby hamper i`m putting together. £1

Was only there 1.5 hours had to come home because OH couldnt carry anymore and we`d gone on train .:(

I apologise for length of post but I can only come on for a few minutes each day and this forum moving along lovely now xx
