    Morning everyone

Blimey this thread is moving along so fast, I cant keep up lol. We have been busy decorating over the last couple of days, have nearly finished the hall now, just we run out of paper for one small wall so hoping they have some paper left when we go up there this morning. Cant wait to start on the spare room where my sewing machine is but think I will make a start on that room next week now as feel like I am getting a cold. Thought at first it was due to getting the old paint off with a heat gun as I just had a sore throat for a few days but its more like a cold today.

Havent really done anymore towards presents for a week or so. I need to get a battery sorted for the watch I won in the next few weeks ready for eldest daughters birthday so have got it out and left it on show so I dont forget.

Have done quite a bit of knitting with the barbie dolls clothes. Just want to make some sewn dresses etc now but cant get into the spare room to do it yet.

I have put a bid on some books for my eldest grandson for his birthday, its the second lot as I didnt win the first lot. I have £5 in my Paypal so wont have to pay much for them if I win. Sometimes I feel that people bid on my bids just to stop me winning lol. The last set of books I looked up the completed listings first to see what price they were going for and it wasnt that much so I bid what I thought was a good offer, it would have made the set cheaper by a couple of pounds to what I could buy them on one of these book sites. But then after the listing ended checked Ebay and I had lost them by 20p or something silly.

The weather looks nice and sunny out today down here in Kent, feels a bit colder though. We are off out later to hopefully get our extra wall paper and then to take OH's mum out for dinner as its her birthday today. Might pop to Co-op while out and pick up a tin of sweets to put away for Christmas.

Anyway, hope you all have a nice weekend, Rufus xx

    Hello all :j

Nicky -oh the hassles of moving house -don't envy you but it'll all come right in the end.

You're all so busy and seem to be well sorted. There's a boot fair at the school tomorrow morning so maybe (if it doesn't pour with rain and no-one turn up) I might get some bargains.

Today has been a lazy day (whats new?)......lol Sat up watching a horror film last night with our lad so overslept this morning !
All I've done is stick a couple of labels on some empty pill bottles for my sons, attempted to stick a big shell on top of an old herbal pot -label came off and it looked totalls white -goes with the shell - idea being that it gets shoved in a plant pot near his flat door with spare key in it............hoping it sticks enough !! Then found some tic tacs I forgot I'd got so covered the box with red paper then white on top, cut hole for the bottom of a snowman, stuck a white button on for his head, got my felt tips out to do his face and cut a piece of felt for a hat..............lol what a lot of fuss for a box of tic tacs........lol Did one last year that I thought was a bit naff but my son loved it.........so he's getting another one:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Hi everyone!

Well I got my order through from Books bargains. The bags are not quite what I was expecting.... I'd never pay what they said the RRP price for them was but none the less for £3 its not bad. I bought 2 sets and I think I'll use them to put things in for hampers or something similar. They're quite small.
The books and book sets are fantastic and well worth the money. I got 2 books, 2 bag sets and 2 childrens book sets as well as a free book set for £11.96 so I'm not complaining!

Hi all - after complaining it was too quiet on here about three weeks ago, I can't keep up now! :rotfl:

I've made another batch of chutney and have loads now. Will be great to give OH brothers and sisters with their pressies, say it's off DD. She grew the tomatoes and helped make it, so if it tastes awful I can blame her. ;)

Not much Christmas stuff happening here. I spent loads of time looking for things but no buying. DD2 at awkward stage, too old for dollies etc but too young for a mobile phone (only goes out with me so wouldn't need one anyway) and she has her own laptop, ipod and Nintendo DS already. Was thinking of DSi but not sure. Her birthday is January so I may get her one for that instead.

After feeling all geared up the other week, I'm a bit fed up again. DD1 back at Uni on Monday :j (after four months off). I may be able to get stuck into wrapping etc then. I need to make sock monkeys too.

I have booked our tickets for the Christmas Fair at NEC. Have been four years in a row. It's great - good for unusual presents, things you don't find on the high street.

Sorry for long post - not been on for a while.

Have a nice weekend everyone - Take care

    Thanks Fedup.

I looked online at Lakeland yesterday, I got loads of stuff in my basket and then had second thoughts. Funnily enough, I didn't see the Granpa's weeders. I nearly bought the weeder off QVC last week £15.24 plus p+p and these were only £7.99 no p+p :j

Fedup was your order over £20? There was a code for free silicone cupcake cases too. It didn't automatically appear in my invoice so I phoned up (015394 88100) and they added it manually. If you didn't get them, phone, it's worth a try. ;) The code was WH15

  • I spent £34 ish and added the code for the free P+P as it only accepted one code at a time. Plus I have plenty of sillicone bakeware so no real need for anymore!

I bought my weeder from QVC too! around April time - shame about it being more than this one from Lakeland

I got those watering bags x 2, maybe both for me and then the plant food for 49p - must be worth a go for that price and the garden aprons and some other things I can't quite remember now - was quite a big order as most things cost less than £1. Was tempted by that Patiogrow which has a massive reduction too.

As for me I restarted uni this week, after a 15yr break, your daughter's 4mth break is quite short, mind you I do and will be working full time too!

    Hiya everyone
Well I have sorted through all my Christmas pressies and stared to put hampers together they are looking good. My vistaprint order has been shipped out 11 days early so really happy about that it should arrive before thurs will let u know. I ordered a couple of bits off the book directbargins website today just off the 99p offer page but good little things for hampers.
I also bought myself a light that clips to my book when I read on a night as the lamp keeps hubby awake.

Does anyone know a cheap website for ps3 games and dvds or blue rays?
Also I was lookin on the halfcost website and they have a designer coat very cheap I was unsure weather to buy it as I'm not sure if its a fake or not. Has anyone bought off there before? Are they good products? I hope so as eldest son needs a jacket for his christmas. Xxx

  • I was in Tescos this afternoon and they have started putting the Christmas chocolates and sweets out! There was only about 1/2 an aisle so far but the other stuff in the aisle was the reduced garden things that I imagine will go soon.
