Hello all :j
susan - didn't know poundland did a self laminator -in fact never heard of one. I always thought you had to have you own machine or something.
I've got loads of long(ish) stirrirs that would make ideal plant sticks if they had something on the end...........oooohh...........I want one of those laminator things.............:rotfl:Could do with some plant sticks for myself so I remember what I've planted and where..........lol
Well, what a day...........our lad had appt. with college and decided abruptly he wasn't going and with face like smacked **** stormed out  Last seen with a mate of his I'm not too fond of................course at 15 he knows it all doesn't he and there was me forgetting that !
OH just got me some more ink so I can get long awaited stuff printed off.
Started filling in the grandparents book I've got -they never leave space for more than one marriage in these books do they........so I've based this one around my first marriage (he died in 1974) Grandchildren knew nothing or very little about him so it'll make it a bit special for them.
You all seem so busy...........100 days to go....
Less than that for taking sons and his families pressies.........we normally do that a week before so the panic is setting in:eek:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I have ordered some bags and a few bits from the 99p or less section, the bags look great value, guess the RRP would be to draw people in, but by what I've paid previously for bags for gifts def like the price.
Can't wait for the parcel to come xx
Thanks mum2one, trying to cut back but not look cheap and if they are the sort of thing that are sold in cheap shops for less than I've paid it will be embarrasing as well as annoying. Late night shopping not a good idea as I'm more likely to be less discerning iykwim.Second purse £101/100

Hi, I was looking for some inspiration on these boards late last night and came across the offer for the weekend bag from books direct. So I ordered a couple and the early learners and getting ready for school learning to write, add up etc. set. Today, I am wondering if these are real bargains or the type of things I would find in Home Bargains or similar for next to nothing. I don't have little ones myself so don't really know but wanted them for friends child. Can you help please? Thank you
If you mean are the books good value, then the ones I've received from there have been brilliant quality. I've done three orders altogether from the site and love all the books I've received. I've not ordered the luggage set though so cannot comment on that.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Thanks, that's reassuring.
Have just renewed a magazine subscription for my brother that I took out for last Christmas for him and there was a buy one get one free offer with the renewal letter so ordered another one for my son. Every little helps as one supermarket is so fond of telling us.Second purse £101/100

I bought it from my local co-op (just a small branch) and I'm sure it was less than £2, was quite suprised, it had nice recipes in it as well as the crafts.
I didn't make my chutney today as DD is teething and only managed to make some home made soup. Although I have picked the tomatoes so I have to make it now as I've got tonnes! :TMurphy's No More Pies Member No. 28 on hold0 -

Thanks Savvy and elysia for info on boots, will have a browse when kids in bed.
Would like to thank you all on for the support on the bullying problem. Took my daughter down this afternoon after keeping her home and demanded to see someone, was sick of waiting for them to call me back, anyway they were very helpful and promised to have stern words with boys involved. DD then came home later from school very content that the boys had appologised and had been nice to her for rest of day, lets hope it lasts.0 -

Thanks to you all for your suggestions on cellophane and tags.
mum2one - think I will try eBay for the cellophane. I also had an idea to wrap all my presents this year in plain brown paper and do some fancy decorating with ribbons and stuff. You can buy it on eBay and you get tons of the stuff for not much money.
I think the idea about the laminated pictures for the lolly sticks is a great one (sorry, can't remember who suggested it.) I was going to say something similar - you can get pictures of vegetables with smiley faces on google which are pretty cute as well as the other stuff.
susan42 - I thought of Wilkos - but I've never seen one in London in my life! Isn't that strange? I would absolutely love it if you could send me some in the post, but only if you don't mind...
Got the day iff work tomorrow but have to take the car in for it's MOT. Bound to cost me a fortune
That sounds lovely with the brown paper and the ribbons. A little brainwave, don't know if you have young children, but what I did with Miss Hoodie when she was younger, she had this thing about the glitter glue pens, (think that was me - when she was 3, decorated a pr of trs and black tshirt with glitter glue pens, - attempted was the word, to do cobwebs, witch, broomsticks, nightmare to dry, but she did look brill - it was her 1st Halloween party), so after that she would go through as much paper as she could, so I saved them and used them for wrapping smaller presents in.
Good luck with the car 2mor, hope it sails through ok, (if it doesn't I'll sned Miss Hoodie down to kick off for you, the I'll belly flop them!!), xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
