    Hello all :j

About the joke pills............I never give them to my little grandson -just in case -just the teenage ones (18 this year) and as a joke to add to a couple of friends with ''shopholic'' labels and stuff like that.
Better idea for a small child might be a specially wrapped ''santa sweetie'' thats just a chocolate wrapped in red paper maybe.

Well, had an ''organising day'' (sort of).......put all the photos away that I'd dragged out to print for scrapbooks and cleared out two drawers in my desk that were full of odd bits of paper...........now they're all neat with just the scrapbooks in and scrapbook paper. Then spent half my time looking for some original letters from the war office about my Uncle who died before I was born..........can I find them ?? No way..........I know they're somewhere safe and I've copied them anyway but I just wanted to find them..........but you know how it is...........the more you look the less you see................so I've given up on it for now. It felt like a bit of a wasted day so tomorrow I'll cover my shoe boxes and gravy tubs -least I'll feel I've done something.

Karen -welcome to the thread. You'll enjoy it.....everyones a great help.............:T

Got lots of seeds today in Wilkos at 75% off and I'm now off to think about getting some more to bundle into mum's pressie hamper as they work out at a few pence for most of them!

Just managed to catch up on the last 5 pages, I mustn't go on holiday again, it took ages to read everything!

Welcome to all the new people, it's lovely to have more people joining us :T

I haven't been thinking about Christmas much over the last week but now I'm back I'll throw myself back in. On Friday I'm off to Tesco to double up all my vouchers I've been saving. I'll be able to get plenty of toys for ds either for his birthday or for Christmas, so that will be a huge help.

I want to get plenty done over the next 2 weeks, before I go back to work. Term starts for me on the 2nd September so the more I have done before then the better as I will be stupidly busy after that. I really like the idea of making chutneys and jams so I might try out an easy recipe to see if I can do it! If it works okay then it's a possible prezzie idea for DH as he loves stuff like that, and also for his gran.

I think I might do my dad a gardening hamper as that seems to be a growing passion of his now he's retired. When I was last in Poundland I saw some fantastic gardening tools. They were decent sizes and looked pretty sturdy. They had loads of other stuff (hanging baskets, seeds, pots, gardening gloves etc) and I wish I had thought of getting them for him at the time. Oh well, just means another shopping trip :D

I think I might make some snowman soup this year. I made pots of gold for my family last year and they went down really well. I want to do something different though so I'll give the snowman soup a try. I'll have to discreetly find out if everyone likes hot chocolate!

    Hi Anglea

We live abroad and are coming back to UK in October as we can't come back at Christmas this year! So have to buy all the presents to leave in UK for friends and family. Also prices for toys etc here is more expensive than in UK and it is a Muslim country so difficult to get Christmas items so I need to get everything to take back for our Christmas here! Trying to order the majority online so I don't spend the whole of our trip home running around like a headless chicken!! The upside of this is we wont have huge bills around December, but the downside is we are used to big family Christmases, last year there was 20 of us Christmas day, so I want to start some new traditions and things to make our quiet Christmas special for our daughter and my stepson!

    Hello all :j

turn3r -welcome to the forum

Had a busy(ish) day...........got my gravy tubs covered with ''snowy'' paper all ready for bon bons (snowballs) and popped penguin and polar bear face mitt on them.........they look a treat !
Plodded on with decorating scrapbooks so they're nearly done now-decorators been here so that hindered me a little bit. Intended covering the 4 shoe boxes sitting in wait but didn't get around to it........tomorrow maybe ??

Hope you've all had a good day:)
