Ooops Elysia beat me too it, didn't read all the posts.

Hi Sugarspun nice to see you, bet your little one is growing fast? Hope you and all your family are ok, your making me feel all cchristmassy with talk of trees and decorating. I love putting the decorations up with the kids, we make a full day of it here.

Clare I want to be doing christmassy things today:D Ive been feeling so christmassy this weekend, think its cos my mum's on her holiday and she phoned me on friday to tell me there is a big Christmas shop across the road from her hotel, she has promised to bring me lots of stuff back :j

Right its my first day working today :j my placement finished last week so its a bit scarey for me this morning, I've been up for over an hour I've drunk about 10 cups of coffee, don't know why I feel so nervous as I've been there 4 weeks already, maybe its because its my 1st proper day LOL :o

Anyhoo have a lovely day every1
    :D:D:D:D:D

    Hello :D

Yes, she's growing like a weed and so sweet and cute. At the moment she's just figured out how to use a phone. She was given a plastic bilingual toy phone for her birthday (her BIRTHDAY, my baby is one!) and likes to hold it up and chat into it :rotfl:

I'm a bit annoyed this morning, though - apparently the local postal system has a minimum requirement of 14.5cm for the length of anything going through the postal system, so my 11.5cm square cards will incur extra charges! I've found five cards that'll do for some of my family, but since there are about fifteen cards I need to send it's a bit annoying. Maybe I'll just put the small cards in bigger envelopes ;)

Good luck with your first proper day Sarah :)

Sarah - good luck today! Not that you'll need it! You'll be great!

Sugarspun - 1 already?? Blimey!! Saying that, Bethan's 8 months tomorrow. Yikes.
That's weird about the envelopes though....I know I wrote smaller cards last year, but can't remember if I send any of those in the post or not. I'm assuming not......They've never made it clear though have they. They make it clear about the larger envelopes.....

susan - sounds like you were dealing with a right so and so that day!! Grrrrrrr.

Ok, I have a few work and spooky related things to get done first, but then I'm in Christmas mode!! (I hope... )

Hope you all have a good day!

  • Hi :wave:right, more lists to be done today. Ordered all my cellaphane and ribbon. Need to buy coloured card and a new guillotine, mine is rubbish.

Am finally happy with my snowman soup so can get prepping for thatand now will get started on the reindeer food next.

Going to get the kids blackberry picking today in the garden while the sun is out, we have so many this year, then will wash and freeze for jam. Will make that in October. Apples aren't ready yet I don't think.

Mary, Love the idea of little pretend pill boxes with tic tacs in but like you say the pill bottles are hard to come by now aren't they, wonder if could use anything else.

I've decided not to make cards this year because I spent so much money on bits last year I think I'll give myself a year off and choose some instead. I will however make gift cards, bags and get the Royal Mail personalised stamps again.

I am really pleased as we finally :jmanaged to get 2 of the kids main presents yesterday, they both want the interactive Lotso bear from Toy Story 3 which even now is like gold dust to find. :T We finally got 2 from Argos through a friend that works there and got staff discount. I am really tempted to give them to the kids now because they so desperately want them..... but have to resist.

Have to wait for payday before buying anything else now!! Otherwise it'll be beans on toast for a week!!
A small Thank You can make a BIG difference ;)

    It goes so quick!

We live in Germany, which is why the rules on postage are so ridiculous. It shouldn't affect you in the UK :)

Just a quick thought re the tic tacs - know what you mean re tabs bottles there like god dust, know its a bigger, but would cocktail stick holders be any good, usually get 4 packs from most pound shops etc.

Or if you know anyone who has the small jewellery bags (come cheap off ebay), I think mine were 100 bags they were about £1.50, but there other uses as well as tic tacs - then put a sticker on the packet - make sure go for the resealable ones with the plastic seal at the top rather than the resealable that folds over xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Good ideas Mum2one, thanks, thinking about it they could be presented in anything really couldn't they?

Any ideas for tablets anybody.... I was thinking of (pretend) Christmas Eve Magic Pills to help Children go to sleep on Christmas Eve and Stressed out Mum Pills to be taken with a large glass of wine!!!!

    Hello,

Not sure if this is the right thread but I've started getting a few things for Christmas-got my Xmas cards for 89p from Oxfam the other day-I love CHRISTMAS!!

We've just come back from living abroad and we don't have any decorations-are there any places that do them cheapish this time of the year? Thanks.

You need Wilkinsons for cheap Decorations. It'll be next month though.

Welcome to the thread beachlou. Where did you used to live?
