Just had a thought (my brain aches) ........ Rufus these would be really quick and easy. They don't cost a lot to make, and yet you could charge a £3 or £4 for them on your craft stall.

I beat you to it lol, have already made a few of them xx

    Hello all :j
fairydust -welcome to the thread and I'm sure whatever you make it'll be super :T

elysia -thanks for the link. Had thought of putting tissues in the little SOS boxes (as there's no room for loo roll) but hadn't thought of making a holder for them.

mum2one - I only got 2 of those boxes -wish I'd got more...........oh well, if I had I'd be scratching my head as to what to put in them.
Covered the top of mine today -well one of them - with some foam so I get a smooth surface then I'm covering that with blue paper so it all sort of blends in then add SOS in felt letters on the top.

Apart from that I've covered a shoe box with the wallpaper border of old fashioned children at the seaside -it'll do for sons girlfriend...........OH is well impressesed but it was a pain to do.........kept coming unstuck.............I used wallpaper paste on the assumption that it was a wallpaper border so would stick ok..............oh well, it's done now so thats another thing out the way.

At last, appointment for physio -June 24th.........:T
Just hope it works or am I expecting miracles ??

Also there is a beautiful photo frame which she shows how to make but I have no idea where to get the glass beads she talks about, does anyone have any ideas?

fairydust - I like the frames..........not sure where you get the beads from though other than a card making shop that would sell them for embellishments. You could look on the Jewellry thread.........maybe someone on there has the answer.
They really do look good..............wouldn't mind having a go myself.
Loved the specs case she'd made from a pot holder...........just made 7 myself from remnants and bits of foam...........seemed to take forever.......:rotfl:

Those beads look like little glass nuggets. I've seen them in garden centres in a bag. It may be worth looking on ebay. I'm just off to bed now, but I'll have a mooch about on there tomorrow. I wouldn't mind making one of those myself.

    Thanks fairydust. xxx

Re the photo frame, just found these on studio website, they'd be perfect for around the mirror frame

There £4.99, then p+P, if you were to order a few bits makes the postage worth while. x

    Hello all :j

Well after all my battles with glue the little SOS box cleaned up a treat..........all I had to do was wipe the lid I'd covered with black foam and all the gunky glue came off.................so I set to and covered the lid of the other one. Found some bright yellow stick on letters to put SOS on the top and started raiding out stuff to start filling one of them up (makes me feel I'm nearly finished) So far I've put in
    Batteries (2 sorts)
Pen and pencil (in case pen runs out)
    Sticky plasters
    Candles and matches
    Small screwdriver
    2 paracetamol
    2 rennies
alka saltzer sachet I got as freebie
    I small bandage
sachet of muscle relief gel (another freebie I got)

Still to get tissues, blu tak and safety pins (can't believe I haven't got any !

So, not too bad a day :j

Thank you for all the good wishes, survived the exam, very handy room as I was next dr to the loo...... the OU really go out of their way to help, coz of health and the crutches, they arrange for me to have to have 1 to exam, local location and 30mins break on a 3hr exam, taken as and when needed it.

Bit shocked we'd been given a trial exam paper and last yrs exam but this was harder.

The 1st part you had to answer all 5 questions, they were based on each of the business subjects, then the 2nd part, again same subjects but more indepth and u picked 2. You can tell how difficult I found it, for one of my 2 choices I did a accountancy question, the subject I didn't study, bar the 1st 10 pages, but touch wood, I think I knew what I was doing, 40 is the pass mark, and as one of the ladies put on our OU forum, "look at it like this 40% pass, that means we can get 60% wrong"........ so now have to wait to September, but gave it my best xx
