Flying visit, just about to go and help dd find her jeweleery making kit....

Thought I'm a brianbox, put in the last challenge to use this month for birthday organisation and where we'd got to, any only just remembered to put mine in..

    Here goes

Pretty impressed as we have had 2 18th bdays, their main present was a Morgan watch each, 2 x 30th boxes, 1 main present was a silver neck;lace, the other a morgan watch , 1 x 60th box - main present that gold locket from Argos reduced £60 to £30 and mum paid for it as its her friend.

    I love Argos sales xx

    Hello all :j
Thanks for all the ideas for SOS box..........have to limit the size of stuff as they're those little plastic boxes from 98p shop in Torquay (mum2one knows the ones)
Made a note of all those bits anyway so I'll fit in what I can...............many thanks. Saves my brain cells..............:rotfl:

Been covering a plastic notebook -cheapo one from wilkos - not bother covering plastic again ! It all looked ok then the glue came unstuck..........I've done it again and stuck it under something heavy..........just let it dare come unstuck again
Oh lor..........there's me saying I won't cover plastic again and I've got to put something on the plastic S0S boxes -says 'boys toys' on them at the minute...............lol:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi Mary. Have you tried Fablon for covering plastic? It's sticky on one side, its great for covering things like notebooks, and boxes etc. They had some rolls in Hobbycraft last week at only 59p a roll. They was loads of colours too. Not many patterned ones but they had some funky hologaphic ones.

susan -sorry if I'm giving you sleepless nights...............lol:j

elysia - hadn't thought of fablon..............just used pva before and its worked on fabric and paper -just not tried it on a plastic notebook before. Thought it might be a way of using up some of my off cuts of scrapbook paper and that way keep the cost down.
Have now put notebook under two really big heavy books.............so we'll see what tomorrow brings................lol:rotfl:

Found some lovely wallpaper border in a box when I was looking for something totally different.........its old fashioned children at the seaside and I think it'll be wide (or should I say deep?) enough to go round a shoe box and the lid..........perfect for sons girlfriend who lives in Worthing. If plastic overcomes me I'll cover a shoe box instead..............lol:rotfl:

Those boxes are brilliant, got 2, but wish I'd of got some more.

Were down Torquay again Aug, so plan be to hit the 98p shop again, thinking of using one for Uncles xmas prezzies (the uncle dd calls grandad), he his a choco -holic, but may resort to the bit and bobs the ones that we all raided the £1 shop for.

Thinking of you Mary, saw it at a market in Tavistock, and the idea jumped out, they did a tissue holder,

(have to excuse the description - just incase anyone fanices a bash at one)

Main material, then had a lining.
The pack of mini tissues fitted in sugnly
Then the coer / flap over - that came half way down the front of the tissue holder, it was stuck with a press stud, but they had sewn a button onto the front to make it look as thou it was buttoned down.

Could do the same principle with make up bag, could do a fold over, or zip top (just got 6 x 9in cream zips from ebay 98p - free postage).

Its on the to do list.

So funny now become a buzzagent, got my box of splenda, looking at the sugar container, and thinking what would Mary decorate it with, what could go in it.... Your crafting skills working the magic. xx

mcjordi - Don't worry about it, they'll soon let you know what they want. DD1 and 2 have both put in their orders with Santa already.

Just had a thought (my brain aches) ........ Rufus these would be really quick and easy. They don't cost a lot to make, and yet you could charge a £3 or £4 for them on your craft stall.
