    Hello all :j
All went well at hospital yesterday except the long wait:mad: Boffin doesn't want to see OH till december and the xray looked a lot better than previous.
Got some bargains while we were out.......charity shops I found six pieces of fabric I'm making specs cases with (looks like everyones having one this year.............lol), alphabet letters for scrapbook, nipped into Boyes and found 30 sheets of scrapbook paper for £5.99 so thats scrapbook no.2 sorted, stocked up with post it notes, notebooks to cover and loads of glue so I'm raring to go...........:j
Well would be if I hadn't had to wait up till 4 this morning for police after our lad didn';t come home last night. He came back this morning -knew he would..................I've had a lie in so recovering (I think.........lol)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Hi all

Mary, glad you finally made it to the charity shop. Lots of bargains - hope you caught up on your sleep.

I think I'm going mad LOL. Earlier in the week I had a call from the care home my son lives and they mentioned he's coming today with some birthday cards - his dad (my ex) and my mum and one for Father's Day.

Well today when I looked at the cards after he arrived by car with the support worker, there were only 2 cards, one said Happy FD on it and the other just To Dad. And none for mum.

At that moment my memory seemed to go and I wondered if someone had made a mistake and wrote Dad on both cards instead of Mum on one of them.

I was carefully inspecting the writing on one of the cards wondering if it was just a case of the wrong spelling and was seeing if it could look like my mum's name at a different angle.

Eventually I took it to the support worker and told her I think they put the wrong name on the envelope and it was supposed to be for mum.

She looked at me a bit startled and said no, it was for dad's birthday. I don't know how, but I'd totally forgotten about it even though I was thinking about it moment beforehand.

I think they must have posted mum's card, that's what usually happens.

Glad the xrays were ok Mary.

Sarah - shouldn't laugh at your OH, but it was funny to read about his on the trampoline.

    ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Feel better now!! lol Got a manic couple of weeks ahead - decorator coming Monday for 3 days (for which we need to clear out our wardrobes in our bedroom and move the wardrobes themselves too - they are MASSIVE!! - but nowhere really for the clothes to go.....), then Thurday we're off to visit family in France until Sunday, then carpet fitters the following Tuesday to put carpet in bedroom and lino in bathroom, and hopefully same day or the next day we'll have our new (mould free!) wardrobes delivered!! Blimey, why does everything happen in one go?!?! lol

    Hope you're all well!!

Been busy all day getting ready for the party tomorrow. OH is lying on settee watching the world cup with a very swollen bruiesd ankle. Just thought I'd pop on and say hi while I was checking my messages. Have just been on cokezone and order Operation board game for 100 points (I knew I would use them eventually, they been sat in the account for about 12 months :o) so thats another present out the way.:j

MARY I know this is silly but i`m still thinking about your scrapbooks..., i cant sleep.....perhaps on the front you could put a tree on then leaves, and in the leaves you could have little photos of people in the scrapbook...:rotfl: I`m sure i`m cracking up

Had an idea last night for some jewellery bits, turned light on 1am to sketch my thoughts, OH asked me was i ill........ no i said, have you got a pen...he thought he`d dreampt it ....:D

Mary how do you make spec cases? :o

    Hello all :j

susan - I've already done images of trees and added the names- on the opposite page are photos
so I've covered that part really.
I was really thinking of something in the way of wording...........like 'all about us', or something along those lines.
It's been driving me daft thinking about it so I've switched brain off for now.....................lol
Specs cases...........oh, now how do I explain.......I think it was qwiksave who did one on the crafting thread in foam -when I tried it I got fingernail marks and all sorts on it. So, OH suggested using foam as the inside and put fabric round it so I've done it that way.............bet that sounds all gobbledogook...................lol Basically you cut the foam to the size of a normal specs case and wrap it in fabric then sew it all up.............I've done mine in blanket stitch all round the edges as I've no sewing machine. They're all done now...........seven altogether !!!! For the folk I know who don't where specs they'll do for sunglasses.................lol:cool:

What jewellry bits are you doing ? I can't stretch to buying the 'kits' so am trying to concoct things out of old beads so it has to be really easy.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I'm going to be back joining in with the challenges this month! I have hardly anything sorted for Christmas, going to cut down on present for birthdays and Christmas as totally skint this year. And nightmare...we're going to be doing the Christmas dinner. At this rate I'll be asking for donations!!!

Thanks Sarah. Just got in, I've been shopping for OH father's day pressies.

I bought him 4 tshirts from BHS. Should be £7.50 each but on 2 for £10. Paid with Toluna gift vouchers so only cost me £5.00.

My four hot prints books came this morning - worked out about £2.00 each. Ones for him, and one each for grandads's, one for DD2.

So there's the tshirts (£5) and the photobook (£2) and card (50p p+p) and will give him a deodorant/showergel set I bought in Boots' sale (£8 reduced to £2) That's him sorted for the amazing total of £9.50.

OH is getting spolit rotten, love the boots set, both grandads have one.. I got them the botanics mens version, £8 to £2 xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
