Hello all :j
mum2one -thanks for the tips at Buckfast -specially the tea shop and loos...............lol
sarah - my garden consists of a 'wild life' bit at the bottom with the pond -one of the lads we used to foster did it as a way of dealing with his problems -dug a bit hole with a vengeance he did.............lol.........the rest of it is full of what my mum would pull up as 'weeds' -to me they're wild flowers...............lol
Then we've got a large area of concrete we laughlingly call out 'patio/courtyard'.............lol full of containers of all sorts then there's OH's precious 'veg in pots' bit -not to be touch by anyone but him................lol
Erm - sorry you've not been up to par.............welcome back:T
Went into town today.........not much in the charity shops but I did buy some pretty buttons and computer ink. Got home and stiched the buttons on a tape/ribbon then fastened it with velcro............patted myself on the back then velcro kept coming undone...............:( Back to the drawing board...........again:(
Printer doesn't want to play despite new ink...........keeps sending me a message saying ink 'not compatible'...........well it jolly well is...............not refills, the proper stuff, number match and everything.
So I've fell out with it now, switched it off and unplugged it hoping it'll forget what its just said (I do often enough.................lol:rotfl:)
If that doesn't work it'll be either kitchen window, large hammer and several trips to the photocopy shop to copy the endless photos for my scrapbooks.............crikey, that'll take me ages.............:eek:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

LOL thanks Mary, that made me laugh! And trust me it's taking alot to even get a smile from me at the moment! but I promise I won't bore you all anymore!! You're all doing so well, keep it up! xx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0 -
hicarroll - well my Dad always said 'If I can make someone happy along the way then my living has not been in vain'.......................lol
Glad it made you laugh.............so did I when eventually after two goes at taking out ink and putting it back in printer decided to work....................lol Now I forgot what I was going to print....................:rotfl:
I've been saying about turning a gravy tub into an SOS pot...........things folk run out of............batteries, string, stickly plasters..............OH's just been tearing his hair out looking for a battery for the remote..............think I'd best make an SOS pot for him................lol (long as one of us remembers where it is................:rotfl:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Erm - good to see you back!
hlcarroll - you take it easy! And if it gets worse, go to the doctors and sit there until you're seen!! lol
Angela - my worry is that it's going to cost me a fortune! Everyone only likes raspberry jam, and they ain't cheap! lol
Managed to save a harddisk from our 'family' PC today which has loads of music and pictures on - the PC it was in was playing silly beggers and we don't use it that often AND I had to replace the hard disk not long after we got it (was a cheapy off ebay, but STILL.) so was a bit worried we'd loast things, but managed to work some magic on it with my Mum (she's fab at computer hardware things!) and everything seems in tact. So I blame the dodgy motherboard and the rest of the PC will be sent to the tip once my external harddrive case arrives tomorrow. Then the hard disk will be housed safely. Not exactly MSE - paid £9.99 for next day delivery from ebuyer (!!!) but it was only around £20 in the first place, and if I had to start from scratch with a new harddisk and external drive I'd be looking around £60 mark. So could be worse!!

Glad it's working now Mary, you're plan of getting it to forget what it said obviously worked LOL!
And thank you Claire, I will be, I can't even get off of the sofa LOL.I didn't understand the vast majority of your message (I don't get computers, I know how to use them once they're turned on, but all the techy stuff goes in one ear and out of the other lol) but glad to hear it ended up cheaper for you :O) xx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0 -
Hi girls,
Mary, what is it they say, a change is as good as a rest? Bet you'll have a great time and a change of scenery will get those creative little grey cells reactivated and I bet you'll get lots of inspiration from that trip for your hampers and scrapbooks.
Elysia - I have a couple of key ring holders (the type for cross stitch) and inside I've written that I'm allergic to penicillin. There are all sorts of bracelets, necklaces etc that you can buy especially for emergency info but I have found problems with all of them and find the key ring the easiest (and cheapest).
I like the sound of that garden competiton. Wonder what plans you have.
Back garden idea you asked about -one of my neighbours has dogs and they have all grass but in the corner is a very big decking structure with steps, pergola roof and very large pots (and table and chairs).
Flowerpot men - I was going to have a go initially at the small ones as I think the full sized heavy ones could be stressful if you make a mistake or drop them.
Thats a brilliant idea about the keyring, coz I'm allergic to pencillian its on gp records, but if I end up in a+e, esp if asthma plays up, hope you don't mind if I borrow the idea xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I like those ideas! Mother in law gave me a bag of jars to bring home with me! Think it was a hint for more jam... lol
mum2one - did you get your holiday booked in June? Loved the April fool joke by the way!
Hope everyone had a fab Easter! Weekend at the inlaws went really well and it was lovely not having to worry about food for a few days! lol
This thread is getting quiet - maybe the length of it is putting people off? Maybe a 'part 2' thread could be started now that Easter is done? Or maybe after Fathers day ready for the big Christmas build up?
Outdoor space? *puts fingers in ears and goes la la laaaaa* Our outdoor space is a nightmare, leave it at that. lol

Yep got the break booked again for end June, not the dates I originally wanted, 2 days later that sold out, but by booking direct I don't have to pay till 7 weeks b4 we go, so fingers crossed should get the ins sorted, the doc backing me all the way, and just £50 extra, its 11ngts, not 14 as originally, but for summer break and dd has to pay adult rate very plzed xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Not money xmas etc related, but had some good news and I wanted to share it.
My mum who 99% of the time is a pain in the rear...... but last week at the docs after the unpleasant exam he was concerned so he sent her to a specialist for a camera jobbie, he was cncerned,at the best it would be bad piles at the worst Bowel cancer.
So expecting a 6mth waiting list....... she had a letter 2 days later, and went in yesterday, the letter was depending on the finds it mat be 45 min procedure or she'll have to stay in overnight, depending on what they find and whather she has to be sedated, worst thing was she wasn't going into 3pm, so took dd and her friend out for the day, safer to be out of the way, as mum had to take medication to clear the way..:D.....
She got home at 7pm last ngt:) and the good news (excuse the expression), its very bad piles, she may need them treating in the future but for now shes ok, and got 100% clear its not bowel cancer.
Rebooked Tunisia for dd and me, hoping the ins pays out quicker.... but push comes to shove it can be credit carded for a month, booked direct so it didn't need to be till 7 weeks b4 we go, whereas at a travel agency its 12 weeks.
Very MSE were off half term down to Devon, though think dads staying at home, don't know whats going on, but realised I hadn't paid the holiday (rephrarse that on the credit card and mum and I go halves), rang the site direct and according to their records it was paid in full at time of booking, no way I do that coz don't like anyone having my money before they need it...... I only paid £20.00 low depoist, tried explaining, no no th computer says its been paid....... so who am I to argue!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Oh glad you got it rebooked mum2one! Very jealous - love Tunisia! And that's great news for your Mum and for your trip to Devon! lol
Sat waiting for the delivery man.Could have gone out in the nice weather, but hey. Hopefully will make more of it on the weekend.
