Thanks Chris. I've had a look at those bags, I take it you've made a few. They sound good, and will make a nice gift as well as being environmentally friendly to boot!
Next week when OH is off work, I'm going to get some material from the market and make some.I don't have any material as I sell all my old curtains on ebay.
Now I'm being nosy...Chris what does the roadkill stand for in your sig? I hope you don'tmind me asking.
Sarah - You're a star!!! Just what I need - something a bit different. I can get the kids involved (stop them moaning for a bit). DD2 has planted her raised bed with veg seeds, she's waiting anxiously for the shoots to appear.I desperately need to sort out the pots and stuff, although I did cheat and buy a planted hanging backet today - it was a bargain from Asda, the plants in it cost more than I paid. :j

Morning Everyone
Mary - Your Garden sounds lovley, I wish mine looked like thatthats the reason behind the challenge for me, my yard area is so plain and boring and the garden bit is full of mud at the moment and kids toys:eek: I saw some lovely ideas on reusing old stuff yesterday but I know mine would look rubbish.
Elysia - I thought the challenge should involve the kids and the men lol I have seeds in the cupboard ready to plant with the kids this week, did you did you get the big dig seeds?? I will find the link and post it for anyone who wants them....
Theres lots of things to do to get organised for the summer so will do it in mini challenges..... yes there is more.... but the next one is not as much WORK (Mary...:rotfl:) and this one is a good one for now as the kids are off and they can help and it will keep them occupied:D:D:D:D

Hi all
I'm going to check out the new mini challenge in a minute but first just had to say something before I forget.
The Santa challenge this month - medicine box. Where I live there was an initiative some years back with one of the pharmacies, where you could collect a special plastic box (like a large vitamin bottle) and you kept it in your fridge. There was a sticker to put on the fridge and on the inside of your front door. So that if you were ill and an ambulance was called, all the medical details for everyone in the family was easily found - in the fridge.
So this little box would contain a rulled up paper sheet with photos (or identifying details) for all members of the family, their medication, allergies, medical details, emergency phone numbers etc.
It could be a good idea for everyone. My box is years out of date so I hope to re-do it for the challenge.0 -

Thats a really brilliant idea, following on from that, (gave me an idea), maybe do a copy of your tablets and dosage and put them in the back of your purse , or make it credit card size and put it in the slots.
Another idea you reminded of, doing the rounds last year via email.
ICE - In case of emergency
In your mobile we all have family stored, hubby, boyfriend, parents etc but as names
The idea beind ICE was as well as having them as normal names have your emergency contacts listed as
ICE1
ICE 2
etc etc - with the numbers,
Think the original idea was by the ambulance service,
I'm def borrowing your idea for the fridge etc. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Anyone play Pogo Games at www.pogo.com??
I've had a free months trail and have 4 FREE 5 day game passes to give out, if anyone wants one send me a PM.... There Free!!! and my trail ends in 4 days so will loose them:(.
Warning though - The Games are addictive - you wont get any organising done:D:D:D:D

Hi girls,
Mum2One glad the fridge medical info appealed to you. I think it could have many uses, not just about paramedics, but for visitors and the house occupant has passed out etc. That ICE phone idea is a good one too.
At this rate, everyone on this thread will be the most organised ever!
Sarah, those are really good suggestions for the summer.
I've got some outdoor jobs that I avoid like the plagueas I live alone and don't fancy them, so it might be nice to do at least one of them. Plus I came across some ideas for deterring cats from the garden I want to try out. At present I've got netting all over the lawn. There are about 70 cats in my area as every household apart from me has about 3 of them - so I came across using foil containers with water in them, large lemonade bottles full of water, bubble wrap and orange peel, coffee grounds, eggshells.
So other potential jobs - repaint carport, repaint swing seat (this has been in the garage for years half done), clean patio stones, cats
.
I will plant basil and lettuce seeds in the kitchen.
Unusual decorations - I've always fancied making a flower pot man. And there's a cross stitch orange geranium on plastic canvas that appeals to me - to make into a plant pot stick.0 -
Oh I like the sound of the plant pot stick Anglea - heres another challenge for you - post a photo of it when it's done!!!
Theres some brilliant things on that link Sarah. When you scroll down, some of them do look very obviously like junk but there's a lovely idea quite a way down, that makes some plant pots 'tipsy'. Looking at the instructions, you only need some pipe or dowelling and some pots with a hole in - would only take 5 mins to make, and it looks really nice. I'll do that one - It'll look nice in front garden. I have an old Belfast sink that's planted up, out the front too.
I have to make my garden extra good this year. Mum won a local competition for best kept front garden last summer, and I'm going to try and beat her!
Back garden, used to look lovely but the dog (got her in July) has both trampled my plants down, and weed on them and killed them. I need a miracle for the back garden, if anyone's got one going spare! :rotfl:I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
