Hello all!! Remember me?!
So sorry I haven't been around - Bethan is 3 months old and I finally feel like I can catch up with you all! Granted, I haven't read all 70+ pages of this thread (cor, you've all been busy!!) but I've read since page 70.
Bethan's doing great! Has her second load of immunisations tomorrow so that will be..um..interesting! lol
Had an ok first mothers day - hubby is in the middle of his OU course and has a big essay due, so it was pretty much like any other day, AND I did the cooking - but I have been promised a 'mother's day' another weekend when he hasn't got an essay due and Bethan did get me a lovely card and the Mothers Know Best Hairy Bikers book! (not bad for a 3 month old...well done daddy! lol) So I'm looking forward to my mothers day in the coming weeks.
Not had the most MSE couple of weeks. Going for a long weekend to the south of france in June to visit my grandfather before he sells up and moves elsewhere - we weren't going to go, but considering his age it might be the last time we see him, and I haven't seen him for 10 years as it is (he's my Dad's dad and relationship isn't perfect, and there was a bit of an issue last time we visited 10 years ago....). Anyway, will be the first time he and his wife meets my hubby and of course his great granddaughter. Bit pricey, but I've stuck it on the credit card. Sometimes you just have to.
However, on the plus side, it's my Mum's birthday this week and have managed to get her £30 worth of DVDs by just paying £5 - had some vouchers from surveys!
THANK YOU everyone who mentioned Dooyoo in the last few pages - I completley forgot about Dooyoo!! Will get back on it - I did well out of them in the run up to Christmas!
Hope you're all well! Good to be back! How are the other pregnant ladies doing?!

Hi Sarah, I hope your feeling a little more optimistic today. What did you think of the film? We saw it too. I quite liked it, and written my review for dooyoo, just waiting for suggestion to be added now.
Will get reviewing on Dooyoo later on if I get chance. DD2 not been too good lately. It doesn't look like she'll be at school tomorrow.
Have had lots of presents for Mother's day, (anyone would think I'd got ten kids not two) and have been spoiled rotten. I hope you all have too. xxx
We didn't get in, got there for 10am and there was over 200 people queing and kids running round outside, the cinema was shut, the film was due to start at 10.15 and the cinema was still shut, we were near the end of the que too, my mum was with us and she has a really bad knee and cant stand for very long so at 10.25 when there was till not sign of it opening:mad: we had to go, gutted really but the kids understand about grandmas knee so we took them for a walk round town and got them some treats and took them to pizza hut for dinner.
Very dissapointed with it really, have said so on my feedback email as the tickets said 10.15am PROMT start. Last month when we went to see Astro boy they started the film 30 mins early:mad:
Will definately take them to see it in a few weeks when it comes out though:D:D:D:D

My name’s Matt and I am from Comet.
I can certainly appreciate your frustration regarding the power lead, however, our policy is to confirm the fault to the lead which is why Acer have asked for this to be returned. When the fault is confirmed they will then arrange for a replacement power lead to be sent out, however, the timescales you have been quoted for this to be completed are unreasonable.
Therefore, please could you send me an e-mail via the link below with the purchase information, the serial number of the laptop and any repair case reference numbers that you may have. I will then ensure that this matter is resolved for you as quickly as possible.

You will need to register a few details with us in order to be able to send your e-mail in.
Thanks
Matt
OOOOhhhhh I nearly fell off my chair then!!!!!!!!
Good news ladies ( and Matt LOL)
Acer said they couldn't repair the power lead and as such, have scrapped the whole computer. Mum took delivery of a brand new Packard Bell laptop on Saturday morning. Well done Comet!!!I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Oh well done you Elysia! (I don't know, talk about favouritism
)
Well, I have had a very productive morning - I finished off 5 flannel bunnies and 6 flannel chicks for teachers presents for Easter (2x DS teachers, 2 DD1 teachers, 1x headteacher, 1x lollipop lady, 5x DD2 playgroup staff - they are all well thought of by my children!), plus 2x 1 litre kilner jars filled with various sweeties for mum and sister's pressies. Bought 3x Easter eggs at Asda yesterday for others 2 were in 2 for £3 and the other was rolled back to £2, so not too bad really!
I also covered a notebook to make a nice diary for DS to use now - he's wanted one for a while, but never really got round to it - it looks really nice - might use that one for presents for teachers in Summer when they leave their current classes - notebooks were 38p in Asda.
Oh also, another tip - I found some packs of 10 kids birthday cards for £1 each in Asda - girls and boys packs - useful to fit in with mum2one's challenge as I will always have some cards in ready and not get surprised like I did last week when I got 2 days notice of a birthday tea and had no boys things in ready so had to put £5 in a last minute bought card  (would have got to pound shop or something but DD1 was off school ill!).

Hello all :j

Well, not exactly been megga busy today but have covered whisky bottle tube and pringles tube with fancy paper and filled them with freebie bits I'd got and some cheapo bubble bath I'd decanted into a pretty bottle out the kitchen cupboard -they're 'pamper pots'..............lol:rotfl:Someone will get them for christmas or birthday........even had enough little freebies to put in empty gravy tub...............:j
OH out in the garden now and making me feel guilty for now giving him a hand.....................so best go and get gardening gloves on:(I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!0 -
sarah - think everyone must be busy 'organising'...........;)
I've had my ears syringed today so hopefully that will keep me 'balanced' (well in one way..........lol)
Finished off my 'pamper pots'..........found some tags on google that fit the bill so they're upstairs in my 'stash room'. While I was up there I found three twiglets tubs..........I'd covered two of them with this nice red textured wallpaper I got cheap from charity shop. Mind boggled now what to put in them......any ideas welcome.............:j
Its out wedding anniversary tomorrow.........we don't normally bother with these sort of things but I've had a look and seems its something to do with flowers on one website and on another its cotton...............well, I've used that much cotton wool with my ears lately much to OH's amusement when I can't hear what he's saying.........think I'll give him a cotton wool ball........:rotfl: He normally gets me flowers on Thursdays anyway as its market day so that takes care of both things.
Friend just rang me and reminded me when her birthday is cos I forgot to put it in my book............April 14th  Have to think pretty quick what to do for her that I can post...............:eek:something cheap and cheerful and not 'smellies' (I always seem to get her those............lol) and another friend is 60 in April........oh lor..........hope I'm not expected to do anything special.............normally we do a 'bag of bits' for each other..........:o
Have to get thinking cap on.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hello all
I'm having a 'famous last words' day after I stated on here during the last challenge that I never needed spare presents so don't bother getting any. Well I've changed my mind because lately I keep leaving everything to the last moment and end up in problems for immediate family.
So I want to get a number of spare presents that could be suitable for anyone e.g. really nice choccies/biscuits as well as have the ingredients in the house to hand make choccies. For the last few years I've made hamper type presents for some people but would like to do something different therefore need to PLAN WELL IN ADVANCE.
Mary - I can't believe you've run out of ideas for those twiglet tubs.:) Thinking about what I wrote in the para above, what about putting together ingredients to make something or a craft kit?
Welcome back Clare.0
