Haven't had a lot of time for posting recently, but always browsing to see what everyone is up to!
Have had a very nice month so far, it was my birthday last week and I got a bike (purchased from Amazon and got nectar points) also had a new car, not for my birthday understand, but we were going to p-ex the old one, decided to put it on Autotrader (thru Quidco) and ended up getting an extra £500! Went to the football on Saturday and for a £2 bet guessed the correct score and scorer and won £135, so well chuffed! We now have our spending money for our holiday in June and also for the kids trampoline for their birthday! Have also had quite a successful tidy up month, sorted out the garage last weekend, and found a few bits for ebay, sorted through the boxes that need listing, just need time to do it now! We are redecorating dd bedroom tomorrow, my gran is giving us a bed with storage underneath, no cost to us, which means we will have the cot bed to sell! Already got the paint from Homebase last year, was on the discontinued shelf so got a large tin for only £4.25 or something similar! The only thing that has cost us is her new bedding! I just need to keep the kids entertained tomorrow while hubby does the painting!
Have managed to sell a few bits on ebay this month, and I keep buying a few bits and bobs to go in the present box, picked up a Hannah Montana hat, scarf and gloves set from Matalan in the week for £1.75 reduced from £7 which will make a great Christmas present!
Got the inlaws coming for lunch on Mothers Day, still need to get gifts but hoping it will stop raining long enough later for me to pop into town before fetching ds from school!
That's me all caught up!!!Motto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j

Rufus if you are looking for a sewing machine, and you happen to have a JTF near you, the one in sheffield has an absolute bargain sewing machine in at the moment (not that I know much about sewing machines! lol) it was £29.99 60 stiches, My MIL said it was brilliant, so ill take her word for it lol! Obviously you would have to register (it's like macro) or borrow a card, but it seems quite easy to apply! xx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0

Hello all :j
Well, bit of a 'nothing' day today...........OH took young lad to see house to rent and seems everyone else had appt at the same time -13 couples in all........then he finds out that the deposit is more than he was told so that was all a bit depressing.
rufus Attempted button bracelet again - still not right............was ok when I tried it out with thread then I bought some elastic cotton -shirring I think its called. Think I need thicker cotton -trouble is, then I need a bigger needle and it won't go through the holes in the buttons  Wondering whether to stitch the buttons on to a piece of elastic and forget the cotton............any ideas welcome.........;)
Started on another button necklace and was going on a treat till I ran out of thread.............my own fault:mad: Could smack myself sometimes:(
Then had call from one of my sons -he's been off work with some sort of virus for 8 weeks and now he's been put on half pay:( He's all worried about his rent etc. and doesn't feel up to ringing the benefits office to see if he's eligible for some sort of top up.................oh ain't there always something:(
Sorry for winge.........just one of those days;)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

its def worth him phoning or 1st step try www.entitledto.com website, you don't need to put personal details such as name, area etc, and it would give him a rough idea as to whether he'd be entitled to anything
Sorry for winge.........just one of those days;)
If you can't winge between friends its a pour look out, hope you get the necklaces and buttons sorted, thats out of my area xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Morning All
Oh Mary I know just how you feel, hope your Son and everything gets sorted soon for you, I know what its like going on sick pay, get him to ring up the benifts though he will be entitled to some help, but I know men can be so stubborn about these things.
Not sure what I'm doing today yet, not planning anything after yesterday as everything seemed to go wrong, so today I'm gonna go with the flow LOL:):D:D:D:D

Mary-op I think you can get a thicker elastic which might thread through the buttons without a needle . I had some before to make bead bracelets with, I bought it on Ebay but reckon they would sell it in a haberdashery. Thats what I am going to look for next time I am up there.
Thanks to everyone about the sewing machines. Typical I dont have any of the shops mentioned near to me. I got my own one back, man said theres nothing wrong with it and its the way I am threading it top and bottom. I cant make that one out as there is only one way to thread it both ends and I do it the same every time, but still its working at the moment, just a nuisance I cant use the nice embroidery threads I bought or I am scared I will mess it up again.
Got 4 crayon rolls finished off yesterday for my stall if ever I get one. Just off up there again to do some more bits.0
