    Hi everyone,

Yesterday I got a craft at home book in the library full of large projects - quilting, painting chairs type of thing so you can imagine my surprise to come across a project to cover gravy type containers!

I wondered if Mary had ever tried this method - cover them with corrugated paper, then wind some string around the top, glue in place, then at the bottom, Make a label from card, stick it on then glue a piece of string round it.

Another present idea was to make a garden caddy - plastic bucket. Get a length of fabric to cover it and make some pockets in them (with velcro if you don't want to sew) then velcro it in place.

On the subject of children being ill, it's hard to recall as long ago but I was in a holiday cottage miles from anywhere, alone with DS as a baby. He was screaming in agony, no transport. I can't remember how I got hold of a doctor now as I don't think there was a phone.

Another time at Butlins, he got his fingers trapped in the door (they are those firedoors in the apartment).

Holiday period -late teens there was one week when - DS1 collapsed - ambulance to hospital, few days later DS2 collapsed - hospital and in the same week, my Dad also had a similar turn and went to hospital.

5 years ago I had another week from hell when -
Sunday - ex announced he was leaving me
Tuesday - mum rushed to hospital
    Thursday-dad taken to hospital
Mum and dad stayed for months including Christmas

Looking at that, all happens in threes.

Oh Anglea what a time you had! Hope everyone is keeping well for you now.

I think I jinxed myself as this morning I was helping at DD2 playgroup and got a phonecall from school asking if I could go and pick up DD1 (yes her again) as she has spent most of the morning asleep in the home corner in reception class. Brought her home and she has a high temperature and is just not herself - given paracetamol and temp seems to be coming down a bit now.

Mum2one - I can't believe we are almost ready for the March challenge - haven't done much of February's yet lol - suppose I had better get cracking then! :rotfl: Tell Miss Hoodie to be gentle on us this month :D

    Hi all

Jane - hope things improve with the temperature.

I remember when mine were at school, they seemed to always have a cough or something because as soon as one child has someone in the class, it gets passed on rapidly. Somedays I felt like screaming as they'd just get over one thing and then come down with another.

So for those of you with school age children - all that does eventually end but you might have to wait a long while :(

Mum2One, I love the way you've written that Miss Hoodie will try and 'be gentle'. I dread to think what she'd be setting us if you allowed her full rein :).

I know that feeling DS2 is off so much some months I get the feeling in the office they think I'm just keeping it off for the sake of it  but he always seems to pick up everything, yet DS1 has always managed to steer well clear and has had little time off

    Hello all :j
Just popping in quick to let you know how appt with boffin went. Well, seems there's still something lurking on OH's lung (been 6 months now!) but slowly its going......not as quick as boffin hoped but in the right direction so he doesn't want to see OH for 3 months which I expect is a good thing. He's got to watch out for any infections and get antibiotics straight away.
Did a bit of shopping........didn't get much but found a chunky wooden beaded bracelet in charity shop for 50p................couldn't believe a box of buttons was priced at 5p each
Got my elastic cotton for button bracelets, cheapo handbag size diary cos no-one bought me one this year -I can cover it with pretty paper -and got a ring bound notebook to use as a gardening record book...........covered that when I got home. Got some packs of card as well, cheap at Wilkos -that was about it really. Got home to find bank statement so now we know how much (or little)we have to live on with OH not able to work.... Going to be megga cheap birthdays and christmas this year...............now there's a challenge...............:rotfl: Wonder how cheap I can do it?
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
