Decorative Liquid Soap Pumps
Recycle old soap pumps, and give them an individual look to coordinate with your bathroom using silk flowers and other inexpensive supplies.
Designed by Betty Dewille of Quick and Easy Recipes.
Decorative Soap Pumps
Supplies:
clear soap pump bottle
clear liquid soap
glass stones, marbles or coarse gravel*
silk flowers
(optional) plastic goldfish
Decorative Liquid Soaps
Craft Project Instructions:
1) Soap pump bottles can be purchased, or you can recycle clear bottles that come prefilled with your favorite liquid soap. Begin with an empty soap bottle, or remove labels from prefilled bottles and pour out about half of the soap from your bottle for later use as your bottle gradually empties.
2) Add glass stones to the bottom of the bottle, about 1-1/2 to 2" deep. Marbles or pretty gravel could also be used as a base if you wish.
3) Now insert silk flowers cut to fit the size of the bottle. Small flowers, like lily of the valley, sweet peas, or violets, are very effective. Insert the flowers stem side down into the bottle, using the stem of the pump to push the bottom of the flower stem into the glass stones to secure in place.
4)Fill the soap bottle about half full with clear liquid hand soap and, if your want the aquarium look, add small artificial fish. Once all embedded decorations are in place, fill the bottle to within 1 inch from top, allowing for displacement caused by replacing the pump aparatus.
You now have a custom made soap pump bottle that you can design to co-ordinate with your bath or kitchen color, decor, etc.
NOTE* if you use gravel, make sure the stones are larger than the hole in the pump dispenser tube, or it will clog when you dispense the soap.

Chocolate Milk Bath
by Jane Lake
What could be a better gift for chocolate lovers than a chocolate milk bath recipe? Bathing in chocolate, of course, is a seductively decadent idea - but oh, so very tempting!
Luxurious as it is, this simple chocolate milk bath recipe won't break your diet or your budget, but it does help soften and exfoliate your skin.
Chocolate Lover's Milk Bath Mix
2 cups powdered milk
1/4 cup cocoa
2 tablespoons cornstarch
optional: 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix together all ingredients and place in a glass jar or shaker jar.
Print the chocolate milk bath label shown below and glue it to the front of your container.
Decorate the top of the jar with ribbon, raffia, or a circle of fabric held on with an rubber band.

Mother's Day Mini Challenge
Well it's mothers day a week on sunday and I have been racking my brain for a mini challenge.... now it's a hard one really, because unlike all other occassions this one is aimed at us  and not all of us have kids so its really hard to think of something!!!! So what can we do..... Loved mum2ones craft ideas, and I have been hearing about the new crime wave hitting the country ..... the police are looking for strange women who have been running in and out of pubs pinching beer mats:rotfl:
Well really my mind is blank on this one, I have failed in my job as Elf and should be stripped of my sparkly tights LOL
If your like me mothers day is great the kids try extra hard to be nice all day, but it usually lasts til dinner time when dear daddy has had enough lol so this year I though we could do something with the kids I don't mean go out and spend money, well you can if you want, but I was thinking something simple like:
1. Do your own photo shoots lots of pics, all dressed up and go and get them printed somewhere... or lots of silly pics that can be made into a fun collage or little scrap book
2. Make plaster casts of all your hands or feet, or a large canvass with your hands and names on and the year... so you can look back in years to come
3. Get Some Old kitchen or Bathroom tiles and make a mosaic of the family (you could also do this using lots of little photos of the kids and family things
I'm sure you will all come up with different ideas, that we can all mix and match and share, but we can't really make anything for this one and thought it would be nice to have a bit of fun and do something that will bring memories of the day.
But after all that the last part of the challenge which you have to do no matter what, is have a nice treat...A Bar of Choc, glass of wine, nice hot bubble bath.
Happy Mothers Day Everyone!!!
And for anyone without kids or older kids who don't want to play you could always do the challenge with your partner or pets or even help a friend or reletive out and get them and their kids doing it help them take photo's or just give them the idea, or you could just Pamper yourselfs all day with some MN beuaty treatments.:D:D:D:D

Hello all :j
Thanks for the choc. bath recipe Sarah............definitely doing that for someone this year.
Don't know about Mothers Day challenge as my kids are miles away and we never made a big thing of it now but I'll definitely go for the chocolate and pampering (have to pass on the wine due to medication but OH will make up for it I'm sure............lol)
Well, I'm that thrilled with myself...............managed to make a button necklace !!:j After days and weeks of driving myself daft I grabbed a load of buttons from mums button jar at random, threaded them on some cord I'd got thinking 'what the heck if its rubbish' and it turned out ok..............:j Even OH thought so -hes got such a phobia about buttons but did take time for a quick glance...............lol
Book I ordered for £1 from amazon arrived -Reg Presleys book on Crop Circles........heard him on the radio talking about them and he made it sound worth a read.........and now sorted mums buttons into colours for bracelets and more necklaces...............very mse pressies..............think everyone will be getting one all nicely packaged in one of my empty tablet boxes that I'll cover.
So, think I've had a good day.............feel sure there's something else I've done but brain now ceased up..................lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

thanks for the mother's day challenge sarah. I will DEFINITELY be doing the treat bit, I think i will need it after Saturday - it is my eldest's birthday on Friday 12th and he's having a sleepover on the Saturday night, so come Mother's Day we will all be shattered. As for an activity, does watching a DVD together and eating birthday cake count?!0 -
