    Hi chuggingtongirl.

    Definately keep the coat!

If you're fussy with coats and you've found one that looks lovely and makes you feel good in it then keep it. As it's a bargain as well then even better.

I've been wearing the same winter coat, it's 5 years this year and it really does need relegating to somewhere else (anywhere will do!), but I'm fussy too and usually they cost sooooo much to replace which makes me think " just one more year".

I think it's safe to say that as it's a 'keep you warm' variety, then it's not included in the challenge.

    Hi all,

Had a quite mellow day trailing round shops after my mum; she got two pairs of trousers and a top, and I spent £2.50 on two pairs of fancy tights as Ethel Austin was having a closing down sale - 50% off marked price on everything! Could have gone mad, quite glad all the clothes and shoes left were small sizes now. I bought a pair of padded ballerina slippers too, not quite sure where they would fit in the challenge but might as well declare - 75p!

I am trying to be good this year by focusing on what I want to purchase for each season and listing it down. This season I am allowing myself 1 x ditsy print flower dress (wanted one last year, could I find any? now they are everywhere) and one nautical item, though this has a ? by it as I do have a red and white striped vest top I purchased last summer. Hopefully by focusing my mind I won't get so distracted shopping, and by looking for something specific I can still have fun trawling the shops.....

Hey Rosemary54, yes indeedy - £100 for the whole year. Lula has put the basic rules on the first post and then people have done their own 'rules' as per their lifestyle (ie. Lula hasn't counted work clothes but I work in a casual place and so I'm going to count them as I wear the same both in and out of work).

It is brilliant for me as I was the kind of shopper who would go into the sales just because they were on, without any kind of plan and then buy all sorts of things because they were in my size, fitted and were cheap!

And then I'd get home and realise that I didn't need 3 new vest tops or a party skirt or whatever cos I had plenty in my wardrobe.

I've not been into the sales at all as I know I don't need anything. I have bought a couple of bits online but I've been really selective and kept taking things out of my basket thinking about the rest of the year to come!!

I'm hoping I'll manage to end up with £20 at the end of the year that I can just spend on something nice that I like and not just because i need it! :A

If £100 is just really completely unachievable, you can always make it a bit more. I would totally recommend joining though. Really focusses the mind!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

think I am stuffed before I start!
already been to the sales this year,BUT was quite good (for me)

evening cardi that will go with lots and I will wear down from £60 to £19.50,day cardi down from £30 to £20(bought with a £10 voucher so does that only count as £10?)
evening top down to £18 (not sure what from)
so my total is already £67.50 or £57.50 if you let me use the voucher!!!

OMG forgot the bra and swimsuit ,also bought with vouchers earned from filling in surveys so think that is another £26 or so but the swimsuit was essential as my last one stretched too much and was binned to protect public decency:rotfl:

I am really quite focused and only buy stuff I know I will wear and that goes with things already in my wardrobe and I only ever buy in the sales and buy things that last for years.

If I join the challenge it had better start from February :D

Hi everyone, still no spend here although the Next jeans I got in the sale with my voucher keep falling down so I may need to invest in a belt shortly! They are the loose fit/boyfriend style anyway but I must've been having a particularly porky day when I tried them on as they fitted really well! Haven't really had time to potter in town yet this month as very busy with work, will be working Monday-Friday only from next month and can't stand town on a Saturday, so am wondering when I will ever get to buy clothes again! Good for the challenge but not so good when I'm dressed in rags come December! (No-one mention online shopping as I haven't succumbed to this temptation yet) x

Finally broke into my purse and bought a top for £9. To be fair, I had seen it before christmas but resisted, walked into the shop and there's only one in the shop, in my size, reduced, ON PAY DAY.

It was obviously meant to be lol
