went to the docs and before I had chance to tell her the problem she was weighing me and going on about losing weight!!!!said I had been the same weight for years(due I feel to eating less as if I now ate what I used to I would be really overweight!)so then she went on about more excersise but shut up when I said well I swim 2x a week, aqua fit 1x and ballroom dancing 3x!!!!
finally got to tell her the problem and she wanted to sign me of work(not what I want so said no)
Did not tell her that if I did lose weight I would have to do some serious shopping to replace all my clothes:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Sarahangel I really admire your using clothes challenge money to buy maternity clothes ... BUT - I really dont think they should count, unles you want them too.
Sorry haven't been around but althought I don't have to, I have kept to the spirit of the challenge!
My SIL has lent me some of her maternity clothes as she was only pregnant last year and I fished out the ones I had with DD - eight years ago!!
Only bought one or two bits in the New Look sale a couple of weeks ago which can be mixed and matched. So I think I have enough to be going on with for a bit, just now looking for a suitable winter coat.
I think the challenge will be harder next year when I'm trying to lose the baby weight!!
Keep up the good work ladies and I'll go back to lurking!!Virtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110 -
well done sarahangel on keeping within budget whilst pregnant - maternity clothes can cost a total fortune! Keep us posted on how you do.
A spend to declare - £3.99 on an oasis check shift dress - sleeveless, crossover v front, camel/tan type tones, and ends just under the knee - very mad men and good for this season. Like it with a plain top under it too as a bit more casual for work. My local charity shop is fab.
More exciting news for those who wanted to live vicariously through my dress win (for those who don't, look away now!). Went on Friday to choose my clothes. Picked:
http://www.alicebytemperley.com/shop/dresses/wing-dress_6330 jumper dress which is beautiful on, really flattering to my curves and super comfy
another dress which I can't see online, is midnight blue with studs in a polka dot style - sleeveless, just low cut enough... will wear for wedding this week.
This belthttp://www.alicebytemperley.com/shop/belts/firebird-belt_6390
This skirt http://www.alicebytemperley.com/shop/skirts/floral-mini-claudia-skirt_6309
and this leather jacket http://www.alicebytemperley.com/shop/outerwear/corsica-jacket_6378
Have a £400 credit note to go back too :j:j :rotfl:
Was a fantastic experience trying everything on, DD came with me and LOVED it, she charmed the pants off the staff talking fashion and managed to come home with a free £70 scarf! (she is 7 btw :rotfl:, and no, she cannot wear it to school, no matter how much she asks). Was funny to see how the wealthy can shop - greeted by name, made tea, brought everything in the right size - and then didn't have to carry it home, had stuff sent back for them (this was from the main Temperley range which is uber expensive!).
The new dress I got looks fab with my leather jacket, and that £10 puff sleeve black 80s style oasis dress i got in the summer looks blinding with the belt!

I recently changed bra size to a 36FF so have been looking for some new bras at a reasonable price(love bravissimo but a bit expensive!)so had a look on Marks website.I could not see any size 36FF and it is a size that does not exist on their size chart!
I emailed them and the reply was sorry I looked online and there were non and called the local stores and they don't stock that size either!!!!
no explanation as to why, would not mind but they do stock 36GG:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
anyone else noticed strange sizing at marks?I checke dbravissimo and John lewis and they stock around 60 styles and never had a problem at brastop or figleaves0 -
decided I hate marks!,after the bra incident i went in and tried(or tried to try!) on some tummy control vest tops, got as far as under my armpits with size 18(I am normally a 14/16 cami in most ranges inc marks)where it got stuck:eek::eek::eek:thought I'd have to ring the bell for help or call out to DH to get me out of it!!!!!
complained to assistant when I did eventually get it off and she said yes they are very small to squash you in....there is small and small, think they would fit a size 10 at most:mad::mad::mad: glad i did not order online and pay post, will now empty my online basket and look elesewhere for bras and vests!0 -

I'm not taking part in the challenge, but I was just wondering how much I have spent on clothes this year. I remember buying some child's shorts, and a pair of shoes. Maybe a top. It soon adds up, considering I more or less never buy clothes!
PS: can anyone tell me what IYSWIM is?

Marks' bra sizing is really stupid. I'm a 34G everywhere except there cos their 34G is really a 34FF IYSWIM, and they don't do many nice ones in a GG, which is really a G. I stick to Debenhams for bras. More choice, more sensible and better csa's.0 -
A quick update just spent £4.49 on a hoodie and t-shirt, £56.96 left to spend.Crazy 2011 clothes challenge, #60 - £193.20/£2000

Hmmmm... I have been missing in action for months now... I was lost in a sea of charity shops! You must understand, they overwhelmed me, they overpowered me and they made me buy the pretty clothes...
I'm well and truly bust.
I've even stopped counting!
Though I do fully intend to get around to that at some point! And I also fully intend on ebaying too, one day soon! So I may get myself back into the black!
I won't beat myself up if I don't though... I've learnt loads and think much more about whether I need something (with the occassional blip!). I also know I need to be a bit more realistic with my budget, so next year I'll separate work from play! And maybe have a separate "special occasions" budget, in that I might allow myself a one off posh frock separately (it's always the wedding invites that are my downfall. I can never resist the temptation of shopping for a stunning dress!!!!) Especially when I've succumbed to a pair of stunning shoes - they simply have to have a dress that can hold it's own against their fabulousness! In fact, all my dresses from now on must match the fabulousness of these shoes!!!
Mind you... if my dressmaking course goes well, I can put all of that in a "hobby" budget and side-step the "clothing" issue altogether.
Very well done to all of you who are still on target! I'm impressed and inspired! :T:T:TJan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
