  • Good evening everyone!

Have not posted for what seems ages - but that's because I still have been good ( but not as good as those who have not spent a penny this year- now that is :A)

I even went to a local big car boot to suss it out before I hopefully take all my tat down to sell one weekend - wanted to get a feel for it all - prices etc . And I can't believe I came away without spending anything - I didn't even rummage through any of the boots with clothes at all - I just looked and skimmed over the stalls.

Also the other day I met up with a old school friend who it turned out was also a bit of a charity shop diva- so we visited every CS in my local town and had a fab time - but again I never bought a thing to wear (ok I succumbed to cookery book huge HB £2.50 and some sanctuary mini smellies that were BN in a box 6 for £1.49 but that's different)My friend is going on holiday in Turkey so we were looking for clothes for her teen DD1- so I looked for stuff for her but I didn't see anything I personally needed or wanted myself - and if I did it was too big or too small or past its best IYSWIM.

Can't believe that this challenge is making me look at my wardrobe in new light - I have become more tidier in looking after my clothes - I mend them if needed rather than throw them to one side and have stopped buying new instantly to replace tatty - I even research before I buy even a T- shirt!

And I have to admit I use the excuse as ironing as "me" time as I watch all the murder mysteries re runs on TV!LOL Never thought that day would come!

So thanks Lula et Al - we are into month 9 and I feel for once in control of my wardrobe!:)

Hey all, bought some new work trousers from Gap (£25) and a work dress and shirt (£32 with discount) so my work total is now £369!!! EEK!!! In my defence I work in retail so have to buy new stuff from wherever I'm working and have just taken a step up so need to be even smarter than usual.

Rosemary Morgan are French and make proper tiny clothes so don't worry!!!

Have loved doing this challenge and have decluttered my wardrobe right down. Aiming for the Capsule Wardrobe by the end of the year X

  • Hi - this time last year there was a thread which I can no longer find about no new clothes buying for a year. I signed up and my year was over on the 1st September. I have bought nothing, not so much as a pair of pants in that time! It was very boring, but I am very proud of myself. I wish I could say I was going on a spending spree now to celebrate, but unforunatley I have no more money now than I did a year ago, so still wont be buying much:(
Good luck to all of you attempting the same sort of thing x

was a bad girl and bought a LA linen skirt on saturday as was on promotion at half price:)

taking it back as really not happy with the fit:(I bought a 16 and it is tight round the waist.....would not mind but most of my skirts are 12/14 and the last LA one was a 16 which is a bit too big....why can't firms stick to proper british standard sizes any more?????
I won't buy the 18 as then it will be too big on the hips DH did not like it much anyway but stupidly I feel cheated and will have to spend half a day taking it back(bought whilst away for weekend but nearest shop a 2 hour return trip so then will feel the need to buy something to justify waste of time/money:rotfl:

have seen stuff I like in kew catalogue which sadly(!!!!) is not available online yet so maybe that will be in the shops!!!!(I know I am a lost cause:rotfl::rotfl:)

Just getting back into things and spending a little time getting back onto the site, I was a serial watcher for ages before haha.

Nice challenge, I think I can honestly say I have spent less than £100 on clothes between Jan 2009 and now, I am a right tight !!! when it comes to things like that, always buy cheap and cheerful and only every buy anything when I absolutely have to, that includes boxers, socks etc. I don't think I even own a pair of socks that I haven't gone through at the ball of both feet hahaha.

  • Hello everyone  twas funny reading thru the most recent post :rotfl:(so thank you :A) have a spend to declare £3.50 on a leopard print, but in b&w IYSWIM, so my total is £147.39/£300 :j. Being as broke & staying in as much as is humaly possibly (and probably a bit lame! :o)I wrote a list of clothes I wanted to get & a cardie was on my list, so practically virtuous! :rotfl:

This thread has really helped me reign in my clothes spending, I am only 1/2 way through my allocated budget set at the begining of the year and we're 3/4 of the way through 2010 :D
