mmmmm I have 2 pairs of grey shoes(1 sandal type and 1 kitten heel)but no grey bag(threw mine out after having "colours" done:()I have a white bag but feel a bit "footballers" wife using it,plus the only white shoes I have are heeled mules....must have been having a WAG moment!!!!
I did spot a lovely purple bag at Debs but no time to go there now and of course the purple would not go with the pink outfit!!!so am guessing I will end up with boring black :(It's funny I thought Sarah would go for the purple outfit as the ponk one is a lot more "grown up" but she really seemed to love the pink one:rotfl:

may have to be naughty and go to Next sale(we have one nearer than town) to see if they have any bags.My bags are either very small bought years ago( and I am talking pre children here....YS now 21!!!)or very big bought in recent years when big bags came in but thye don't feel very dressy for a night out.....trouble is small bags now too small as I need to take glasses with me OMG:eek:

ok update!I wore the pink flowery dress with black sandels, did not need the jacket as very hot day:rotfl:

did not take other outfit in the end but wore a black/pink skirt so could save on packing different shoes.

went shopping and bought 2 bags,a black one and a green one to match new skirt, both leather and only cost £28 for the two in sales:)

went to Stratford with OH and bought 2 pairs of Rohde sandels( wear them all the time with my fat feet)a purple cashmere cardi and t shirt from Marks(purple theme going on here still) both sadly full price!!!

Ooh, can I be a late joiner? This will get me into thinking about not buying things now my maternity pay has run out!

Can't do a £100 though - I had a look through my money spreadsheet and my total this year so far is £164  but in my defence about £40 of that was breastfeeding tops that I have worn loads (and am now saving for another day ;)) and I have gone down from a pre-pregnancy size 14 to a lovely 10/12 so have had to get new things.

The only thing I know I need is some new work trousers for when I return to work so I'll aim for £200 for the year. Thank you for the thread!
  • Happy new clothes everyone & welcome always29 !! Also congrats on the baby & shifting the weight!

Quick one from me...I've been updating my spreadsheet so have my new total. I've sold a few things on eBay and have decided that whatever I make on there I can transfer to my clothes pot. So my total has actually gone DOWN!! Yay! :T

I have now only spent £13.17 of my own money on clothes in 2010!!!

Thanks to people buying my eBay stuff!!!

does anyone else put an item on from their wardrobe and suddenly decide it looks awful????Did that last night with a shrugg that have worn a lot and thought OMG it looks far too big and not very flattering!!!so into the charity bag it goes along with another the moths have left a hole in(I know I could mend it but it's in a very promenant place:(....and I do need to cull the clothes a bit to give DS room in the wardrobe:rotfl:

As planned shrug was no good I tried one that I have not worn with the dress before and was very pleased at how good it looked:):)

went out for 30th wedding anniversary with DH and felt really good :)

Can I join? I have already overspent by £15 as have had a few unavoidable clothes expenses, (I lost most of baby weight so needed new clothes, I was also a bridesmaid and needed shoes/accessories of a certain shade) I think I should be able to stick to £150, this gives me £35 for the rest of the year and I love a challenge :j

    Hello all :D

welcome to newcomers; ELMLY ( are you sure this is the right thread for you ? ;):rotfl:) always29 & allchange :hello:

I've been wanting to update for days but I'd lost my notes of everyone's spends - yes ladies, even when I dont post I am watching & counting  - anyway, thankfully I found it today, have updated the totals & added our new recruits.

The observant among you may notice that according to my sig I am within whispering distance of blowing my budget :(. Tis true, I have been losing out on bids left, right & centre on ebay & having lost a fab dress (only 'atmoshpere' but exactly what I wanted) by a mere 50p in the last minute  I found a very similar item but from Monsoon & was determined to win at any cost.

I sat there with my finger poised over the 'gamble-your-clothes challenge-money-away-just because-you-want-to-win' button & eventually won the item for £11 - which for a pristine condition Monsoon dress is good value :j. It arrived with the sleeve buttons undone & when I didi them up they were far too tight which may be why the seller sold it, but 5 mintures with a needle & thread & now they fit fine & I have a lovely polka dot tea dress that goes beautifuly with the gorgeous brand new Faith sandals I won :D.

Happy days .... until I remember that I only have 36p left :rotfl:... fortunately I do have £13 in my Paypal account which I've earned from surveys so will use that if I find something I need.

I think I will definitely need to increase my budget for next year

Keep up the brilliant saving or spending in Rosemary's case ;):D

    thanks Lula,
I do think I have changed a lot this year and am much more choosy about what I am buying.I have tened to go for the same stuff for years now and just buy anything from my fav shops without thinking too much about if it actually looks good.
I am enjoying my new look and think it gives me more of a shape albeit slightly bigger shape!!!!as I now go in at the waist instead of straight down from waist in long skirts:rotfl:

DS3 was shocked when I said I had about(really a guess)20 pairs of shoes and even more so when I said some people count shoes in the 100s!!!

DH now wants me to throw some of my older clothes and I can see his point but it is painful:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:also all new stuff is purple(is there something of the "when I grow old I shall wear purple" in me??????
would be good to do a GW and wear more of less clothes:)

    Hi rosemary,

I quite agree about wearing more of less Gok style - I'm still not sure I could get it simplified down to just 24 pieces though ;) I keep going through my wardrobe & putting outfits together & realising that not everything really suits me ... but like you, I really struggle to get rid of stuff I have bought even though I know deep down that I probably wont wear it.

This is where ebay probably comes into its own for most people.

Really need to get over my phobia & just do it ...

    Hi all,

Sorry haven't been around but had other things on my mind. I am almost 13 weeks pregnant and out growing all my clothes at an alarming rate!!

I must declare £12.50 for a very pretty maternity dress that I bought in the Red Herring Sale a couple of weeks ago as I have a couple of weddings etc coming up!!

    My total is now £52.50.

Any suggestions where I can get some nice maternity wear from? Most of the places I have looked stock stuff that I just wouldn't wear!!

    Take care all

    Sarah xx
