    Helloooooooooooooo everyone :-)

I bought a lovely pair of cropped cargo trousers from M&S and a little dress from New Look for £6 today so i have a £15.50 spend to declare please. Didnt think that was a bad price for either though really. They had loads of lovely tops in M&S and they are doing sets now where you get a cami a top and a necklace so you have a ready made coordinated outfit for £25. Tempted but resisted!

    Morning all!

Sorry for not posting for a while but have had sooooo much to do and sooo little time to do it in.

Well in the past couple of weeks I have attended a few functions which included

Attending a function that the Queen was at - only got the invite evening before so no panic there then to decide what to wear:eek:...much! LOL

Ended up wearing my good ol' standby silk tea dress in purple green and gold fern like swirls pattern with my gold wedges and felt quiet good about it :)

A hen party in another town and only knowing the hen not the other 16 girls! Had to wear one of those hen party printed T- shirts (but I didn't pay for it thankfully) & I wore a pair of loose white linen crop trousers given to me by a neighbour last year but never worn myself so that was good and flat gold gladiator sandals from last year and I had a fab time and all the girls made me feel so welcome - can't wait to meet up with them at the wedding.

And then tonight its a local sports presentation/trophy night that I am helping to run for a local footy team so have to look smart/fun/but workable.......but do you know what I feel so more confident about just going to my "boutique" in my bedroom and pulling out whatever with what ever accesories shoes etc because I can see everything, know where it all is,it won't need ironing as am a good girl now and do it on a regular basis and i feel happy wearing it......so I will let you know what I pull out of the magic wardrobe later!

But am still on look out for jeans to replace my old pair - Would like a straight legged pair in Indigo/ dark inky colour - cant find any that i like at least am not buying just any pair of jeans.May have to redye my old ones again -2nd time this year but the material is getting really worn.

    And still no more spends!:T

whilst waiting for grocery delivery(therfore unable to dye hair!) I decided to sort the wardrobe yet again.

decided I usually go for things to wear at the end nearest the door so moved clothes round so furthest things now near door, they happened to be brighter summery things so hopefully will wear more.
note to self to wear less black in summer and put wintery stuff in case.

pulled out a dress I bought 3 years ago as loved the fabric(rust crushed velvet) that never fitted round the bust and was no good for dancing as could not raise arms in it and felt too much cleavage on show.I cut the top off and as it is elasticated at the under bust I was left with a neat tunnel with elastic that I can just make tighter to fit.....now have new long skirt to wear dancing :):):)(also bought a jade one so will do the same with that)

also threw out a load of things that have not worn (but wardrobe still looks full!)and hope only to buy new things I really will wear

    Morning all!

Nearly had to declare somethng this morning - from a spend in the most unlikely of places!

A bingo hall was having a jumble sale and tombola in its foyer for charity and I spyed a kooky cream and green floral type dress/top from outside through the window, so went in and snatched it up - cost £1 - that was the only thing I saw or wanted so came out but when I got home DD3 also spyed it and had it on before I had chance to even say where I got it from!:rotfl:

Anyway managed to try it on but it's too small for me so she can have it!

Thing is I can remember Jumble sales when stuff cost 5p 10p etc - those were the days- used to love going with them with my late Mum.
People used to plan their weekends round jumblies - same faces etc- and you used to complain if you had to pay 10p entrance and pay for kids too!bonus though if it included a cuppa and biccy!
And if you were savvy enough you could hang about till the end and fill a bag for 10p or whatever! It was great!

Where are all the jumble sales now? never seem to be as many as there used to be.I suppose Car boots and charity shops have taken over.

oh the good old days of jumbles:)our church stopped them years ago which was agreat shame as used to get loads of really good stuff there.
many years ago another church did them and they were a regular treat as in thoses days most of our clothes came from them, charity shops just are not the same:(
  • Well I have been very naughty and bought a new top, jacket and a pair of shoes!

    Shoes don't count :j:j:j

Hi everyone i was out shopping today with DD and never spent a penny on clothes i cant believe i am managing to keep to this.

    Hi Raven,

I am so proud of you , when you first started posting I never thought you'd make it this far as you seemed to go shopping almost every day. I think you're doing brillantly :A.

Lisinglasgow - I just love your accounting skills ;) - increasing the allowance rather than declaring yourself bankrupt is truly inspired :rotfl: however, Kerfuffle is right, we dont count shoes :j which is rather fortunate as I have been going completely bonkers buying them on ebay recently :o; but 4 pairs of brand new unworn leather shoes or sandals from Faith for £41 is pretty cheap :D.

The white top I won on has arrived but I dont like it so am passing it straight on to the charity shop so wont count that in my totals.

I still have bids on other items but they have days to run yet & I've been outbid on a pair of jeans so have decided to let them go rather than get all competitive about it.

Ebay is a whole heap of temptation though, I have developed a fascination with Mulberry handbags  but cant bring myself to bid in 3 figures, yet.

Nearly halfway there now :j girls, we are so good :D

:mad::mad: dress does not fit well, very short in the waist( and I think I am short waisted)so elasticated waistline about 3 inches too high so self belt loooks stupid with it.only option I can see is to go and buy a wide belt to go over it(not very 40s and not a cheap option....perils of ebuying I guess!!!!)
