I had to go into town at lunch time and I passed my fav charity shop and there was the most gorgeouw summer dress from J Taylor in the doorway - pretty dusky orange and pale grey flowers easy to wear cotton dress - only £4.50 in excellent hardly worn condition - but it isn't the jeans that I need so I left it!
It was just sooooo tempting- really hard to leave it there but I did - I could feel all of you behind me tutting and scowling at me! :rotfl:
could save for another holiday BUT what about the ash cloud and DS waiting for an op so can't commit!!!!
to me the pleasure of hunting down and buying things is almost as good as actually owning them(sad or what?)
did "find" a new outfit in my wardrobe today, despite weight gain my size 12 jeans thta I do the gardening in continue to fall down(big tum ,small hips)so have ditched them and wearing pretty flowery skirt(old) with green vest(newish)ss cream cardi(last years) and green sandels(new).......pity I am only going to aqua fit and tesco!!!!
do need to edit wardrobe as so much stuff in there that things get squashed and i can't see what I have(often forget stuff!!):rotfl:
also often look for things(not just clothes) that i then remember throwing out:mad:0 -
Yet more decluttering of clothes has taken place: I now have 1/4 of what I did before. I did spend £8.50 on new girlie boxers from Primark yesterday as I've binned loads of old pants and socks etc.0
-
Flickering Ember you are an inspiration. Just can't seem to find the time to declutter anything at the moment.
I have been spending this week. Two tops, slippers, flip flops, welly boot socks and boot insoles (so my favourite black boots last me next winter as well!).
I know most of this others wouldn't count but if I personally didn't then I don't think there would be much of a challenge for me IYSWIM. I'd just take the money from another budget and would be back to square one........Loads of spending on clothes when I can't really afford it and I don't have anywhere to put it
.
So anyway, this lot came to £21.46. Total is now £61.46. *walks away muttering "must do better, must do better, must do better...........*
Thanks Lula.Life is knowing which bridges to burn and which bridges to build!

Hello,
I do apologise for such a long long absence & no updates - work has been chaotic, my spending on everything bar clothes has gone haywire so I've just been avoiding posting, although I have been noting all your spends & have finally updated the front page.
Very very happy new clothes to all :jsome really bargainous finds there & I too have been shopping for clothes  I cannot get myself off ebay at the moment, have bought a couple of fab pairs of almost brand new shoes for £6 & £4 but thankfully they dont count in the challenge. Today though I won a little cardi to go over the maxi dress for 99p, a skrt for 99p & another dress for £4 so that's very cheap.
I need to calm down now though & concentrate on debt & fat busting :undecided.
I'm really impressed with you all & plan to resume normal service shortly.
Lula
xx
ps - the new wardrobe is FAB0 -
hi all,
I know I am a lost cause:rotfl:but I did use a lot of self control today and did not use the 20% coupons at east and Wallis:Athere was a lovely top in east but it was £55 before discount:eek::eek::eek:
I did buy 2 tops at Phase eight with 20% off coupon(1 was size 14 and 1 size 18!!!!) and a nightie at White co with 15% off as VIP customer(just sign up for brouchures to get it)0 -
I want to join in. I will try for £30 a year, EVERYTHING including work clothes. It can be done.. I have bought shoes for 0.99 off ebay before (plus a few quid postage).. Primark sells ultra cheap stuff if anything falls to bits.. in the past i've bought jeans for £4, shirts for £5. Right now I have several pairs of jeans with a few years of life left in them, barring some kind of disaster. I have five work shirts, five or six regular shirts for with jeans or whatever. I have plenty of work clothes and a good jacket that can be used for everything. I'd like to do this to cut my debt down.0

Rosemary - you are very naughty, but at least you make me feel better about my spends, thank you0 -
Well I have been very naughty and bought a new top, jacket and a pair of shoes! Not all at once I must add! The jacket is a beautiful vintage argyle boys kilt jacket for £25, the top was for work and cost £9 with a free necklace and the shoes were M&S limited collection for a whopping £45!!! So I have spent £114!!!
I have decided therefore to update my limit to £150 and will endeavour to be really good for the next few months!0 -
OOps, forgot to declare I belt I found in the stockroom which was reduced from £30 to a fiver, so £2.50 to me, taking my personal spend to £7.50 for the year!'The road to a friends house is never long'0
