Ok, I need to declare a spend of £15 on a dress from Oasis, only was supposed to go to Topshop for a necklace, oops! Didn't buy the necklace as wasn't as nice as I thought, quite cheap looking actually. The dress I can wear with cropped leggings and gladiator sandals for the summer and right now with tights, boots and my leather jacket, sorted! Was £55 originally, so was a good price.0

ok get someone to pin (standing on a table is best with shes on) them to the length u want turn up to the outside. Measure how much u need to cut off. Pin around the leg at this length i.e. if you need to take off 2" use tape measure to measure 2 " from the bottom put pins all way around at 2". Then measure 1" from the bottom, this is for 1" for the hem and pin all around. Cut trousers at the bottom pins (1"), then fold up so the 2" pin is the bottom of the hem - is that clear? as mud I think!
Thanks - but you missed the important part of how to stitch it!! Too scared to do it myself anyway. Have given it to my housemate insteadshame as I needed some new work trousers!

The sewing part isn't too hard for hems. Firstly find cotton which is a good match to the item you're sewing.
Then, working with the trousers inside out and the hem pinned up start by securing the thread at one end. Don't use a knot, instead do several tiny stitches all on top of each other. Then start by sewing a stitch through the turned up fabric (not the outside fabric that you will see when wearing trousers) - make this stitch close to the top of the folded bit. Then the next stitch is a small stitch in the outside fabric. The next do another stitch in the folded bit - these can be bigger stitches as they will not show on the outside. Continue this all the way round.
Because the only strain on this hem will be the weight of the fabric you don't need to do lots of stitches and it doesn't have to be super-strong.
If you are turning up jeans, you can just run around the whole thing with a sewing machine, the jeans I'm wearing now aren't hemmed properly, have been turned up and then a solid line of stitching round.
I tried to find some pictures to link to but all the 'how-to' guides I found just had descriptions!
I hope this is clear enough, really hard to explain something in words which is so straightforward in reality!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -

went to town and into Wallis as had some vouchers....bought 4 T shirts on offer @2 for £15, a cardi and cami.(so -£10)
cost £73 but had a 20% off coupon so that knocked off another £12.60 and as I had vouchers I ended up paying 40p:j:j:j
I did stray a bit in Alex and co and bought a cardi for £13.50 down from £45:j:jwhich will be great for summer and holidays
