My mother-in-law just gave me a suit, but the trousers are too long by about an inch - any suggestions on where I can get them taken up? Unfortunately I don't know anyone who is handy like that
Take them up urself so easy! My friend taught me how to when I was 21 and I'm a terrible sewerok get someone to pin (standing on a table is best with shes on) them to the length u want turn up to the outside. Measure how much u need to cut off. Pin around the leg at this length i.e. if you need to take off 2" use tape measure to measure 2 " from the bottom put pins all way around at 2". Then measure 1" from the bottom, this is for 1" for the hem and pin all around. Cut trousers at the bottom pins (1"), then fold up so the 2" pin is the bottom of the hem - is that clear? as mud I think!

Just poping in to say still no spends for this year - does help that my sister has lost a lot of weight so has given me all the clothes that no longer fit her - i have come away with two outfits for the 2 summer weddings that i have to attend - was expecting to buy something but glad i don't need to. Also shorts & skirts for the summer, will only need to purchase some t-shirts at this rate."Life's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get" Forest Gump0

Forgive me Lula, but I am about to sin....
well, not really!
Off to M&S sale clutching my £40 in Pigsback vouchers & my 'virtual' birthday money (next week :j).
I do have a list: I need underwear & possibly a pair of cold weather 'work' shoes, but then the red mist descends.....NO!, I shall think of Lula & stick within my budget, or the nearest parallel dimension
Edit: Later
the power of Lula is strong...and they hadn't got what I actually need, which helps.
So, no change to my total as what I did get, eg boring navy 'work' cardigan & a bra, don't count & the new jeans were covered by the vouchers.
This means DH will have to think of something other than clothes for my birthdayI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

Hi all
Everyone on here is doing so well, still sitting at zero spending but spring colours are tempting me i have a real thing for buying green clothes.
Does anyone else find that sunny weather makes them want to shop?Sealed Pot 7 (No. 296 )

...and the new jeans have been taken back because they were a dreadful fit. So I'm £12 up but still need/want a smarter pair of jeans.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
