However I have an interview next week , whilst I have lots of smart skirts I can't find a suitable top so looks like town tommorow. Any ideas what sort of top would impress in mental health ?
Hi I'm a manager of a supported housing for ppl with MH problems. When it comes to interviewing I think I don't really pay much attention to what ppl are wearing. Obviously a clean, crease free and fairly smart top/skirt/trousers but what I look for is someone who is clearly caring and committed, understands and articulates the problems/barriers ppl experiencing MH probs face (stigma, medication, isolation, etc), understands the risks faced to both clients and people working with them, and who is engaging. PM me if you want any advice.
Good luck! x
Oh also examples of times ppl have been resourceful in supporting a client overcome a particular problem their facing. The worst is when u ask this question and the interviewee cannot come up with an answer. Spend some time thinking of examples of things you have done to solve problems..DF as at 30/12/16

"found" a new outfit in my wardrobe yesterday!a skirt I had for ages that was hard to match things with, its brown silk with red, pale brown and mustard leaves on from CC.I bought a new top (did report it!) in red which matched as CC use the same colours all the time so matching easy.tried it on with the skirt but it showed my muffin top a bit:(,then noticed a red Windsmoor waterfall cardi I had that had not ealised was the eaact colour of the top:)...result a complete outfit that looked as tho it had all beeen bought together:rotfl:0

I am finding more things in my wardrobe that go together too since I started this challenge. I actually feel I look smarter nowadays than I did before.0

Inspired by everyone's ebaying I got OH to go up to the attic and bring down two boxes of size 12 clothes that I have had up there since I moved here two years ago. Decided that I will ebay them as I think its extremely unlikely that I will be able to slim down to a 12 from a 18/20 in the near future. Also when I started looking at them a lot of them were quite short which being in my 40's Im not so confident about wearing now. When I was showing OH what I had he agreed that I should ebay them and said that if I did get back to a size 12 he would buy me a brand new wardrobe - actually thinking about that better check he meant a whole load of new clothes and not literally a wardrobe:rotfl:
So have stuck the stuff without tags on it in the washing machine then I will iron and photograph. If it doesn't sell I will take it to the charity shops.
No new spends so far although M&S have sent me a £5 voucher to use with my M&S card - probably noticed I haven't been using it. So I was thinking I may treat myself to a cardi that I was eyeing up yesterday as it will only cost me £13. Alternatively I may buy myself some socks for £5 and therefore not spend anything - dilemas dilemas0 -
No new spends for me.0

Well done everyone! :beer:I have an interview next week , whilst I have lots of smart skirts I can't find a suitable top so looks like town tommorow. Any ideas what sort of top would impress in mental health ?
Don't do what someone did who I was interviewing last week and wear a top so low you could see her bright pink bra! Oh dear! You can get some lovely shirts in Matalan or Primark for about £5. Or just a jumper with a nice broach or something would be nice. I can't remember who said it, but the advice that as long as it's clean, ironed & not showing to much skin is right! Good luck! :A
I haven't got any spends to declare. I went to Matalan and saw some nice things in the sale, but decided not to bother. My next purchase is going to be a black cardigan as I really need one.
My mother-in-law just gave me a suit, but the trousers are too long by about an inch - any suggestions on where I can get them taken up? Unfortunately I don't know anyone who is handy like thatVirtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93

Now that its no longer arctic outside, I have been wearing a bright red leather jacket a la Michael Jackson in Thriller that my dad handed down to me. Its been kicking around his closet for about 30 years! Very MSE, and sustainably sourced, if I do say so myself!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
