Soappie - that is wonderful.
Rach - hope he makes it home soon. Looks like my DH has been able to cancel his meetings all week because of the weather and is working from home which is both :j and  cos he gets in the way.
Mudbath - I am not far behind you tbh so don't feel bad. It has only taken three or more years of posting on here both under this name and my previous one

rach - hope DH gets home safely and isn't too grumpy!
soappie - great hat!
I've been stitching mum and dad's cards and am now heading off to Fratton Park for mince pies, mulled wine and Christmas Carols"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

soappie and hex - thanks. He's made of stern stuff and surefooted as a mountain goat so fingers crossed he'll be ok. I keep looking out of the window here and the same people are at the bus stop and no sign of a bus so think he made the right call. He's got a decent waterproof jacket with sipped in fleece but of course won't have his walking trousers on!
ETA: he's just replied to my text and seems he's a good half way home and has just passed 2 buses!
Better get the wedges in for dinner!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday 3tabbycats, have a lovely day.
Well managed to get the last of the parcels sent off to ebay buyers....now to start on the next pile.:o
Picked up item from Argos and managed to score a £10.00 giftcard as my item was missing yesterday from the other Argos.:D Gave it to DD1 who bought her two closest friends a pressie each.
DD1 also told me that she's managed to get DD2 a hat that she wanted for christmas, apparently it should have been about £16.00 but DD1 said there was a misprice and she managed to get it for ......a £1.00, that's my MSE girl.:D Cue proud mum.:T
Couldn't collect prescription as they don't have my meds in until tomorrow, argh. that means I have to get right back into town and it was heaving when I got there late afternoon.
So tonight I have to get wrapping.
Still haven't heard from work re my parking pass, getting quite fed up about this situation.
Starting to feel a little christmassy now, just a little.:rudolf:
Pigpen, why don't you ask your OH's Mum why she sent 2 cards, just ask 'I just wondered why you sent 2 seperate cards, I wondered if there was a reason because I was worried that you have reservations about me and OH'?
Rosepink so sorry that life is treating you harshly at the mo, I hope work for your OH picks up soon. xx

No point in chasing them as the appt isn't actually scheduled until tomorrow morning between 8 and 12. Have just put the incredibly expensive electric fire on in the living room to warm it up a tad. DD is due home from work soon. As soon as she gets in, BB and I will nip next door and I'll wallow in NN's bath.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

:bdaycake:Happy birthday 3tabbycats!!!:bdaycake:
I've been here three years now - and no, my house isn't anywhere near immaculate! I think if I ebayed the teens, and stopped buying plants, books and magazines, then I may stand a slim chance...:D
There has been rain here all afternoon, and I was so pleased to see the ice gone, but there is a severe weather warning out again for Kent and Medway...DD and I were going to have a trip out, but that may have to be postponed. I have an optician's appt at 9.30 too.
Monday Mayhem..- Make sure the last of the presents are wrapped I will not have people sitting up while 5am on Christmas morning wrapping! All of them still to do - happily, the teens have all chosen large and expensive items so they have only a couple each!
- S&S the bathroom/s and loo's -later this week
- Clean the oven ready for your feast! - do I have to?? Oh alright, tomorrow then.
- Change any bedding you need to get washed before the fat guy arrives.. and I do not mean the OH/parent/ etc Wednesday

Make sure you have backup heating (oil filled radiator/halogen heater - fan heaters use too much electricity). Oil filled heaters take up more room but are a better investment if you can afford it - get one on wheels with a timer as well as thermostat.0
