Well done you! Good to hear you got on so well, big pat on the back. :T
Ask me what I'm doing right now?I'm starting a new Excel worksheet for our new budget for next year. I've been putting it off for ages but I bit the bullet tonight and am writing out some scarily big numbers. I've just logged in to all our cc accounts, mortgage etc and got accurate and up to date figures........I'm now off to join the ebay board or the 'how can I make extra money' board.
I wish I'd procrastinated for another while. I'm sure I'd have been happier in my ignorance.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Well done Frugal, just read your thread and you have done brilliantly over the last 2 days. You have motivated me to make a start, I've re-joined Flylady and started on my kitchen. I do feel guilty to be constantly cleaning, cooking, washing etc when the girls are off school, but then saying that it's no different to when they are at school!! Though I'm sure with nearly 2 weeks off work I shouldn't have so much to do!
Anyway you have inspired me to kick my self up the whatsit and get cracking. Today/tomorrow having a good cleanup, it's not that dirty it's just christmas everywhere! And Ironing to do, 2 more loads of washing, I hate ironing!
Well done to you again, and I'll keep checking your thread to get some motivation!
TaffyNeed to sort my life out! :T0 -
Frugal - and everyone else that got motivated - you deserve that SC & coke ! job well done, and I bet you feel good for it! Well done on getting so much sorted! Its easy to sink deeper when it gets like that, but a good day like today can make all the difference
Aliasojo - the same applies, but facing it, rather than fearing has to be better right? We cant start to deal with it till we face it - trust me I have days/weeks where I simply "daren't" log the account to see whats left if anything, but ultimately, once I know, I can work out ways to deal with it, rather than just keep my fingers crossed that everything gets paid!
Congrats all to a day well spent, whatever you did or didn't do
JexI will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0 -
Hi Frugal, just popped by to say WELL DONE!
I'm a hoarder and I seem to magnetise clutter around me
The best advice I was given was 'you can't organise clutter - the only way to deal with it is get it out of the door'.
Literally anything that is cluttering up your home and not serving any useful purpose (unless it is important to you for special memories) get it out of the house.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Frugal, you go girl! Have the kids noticed? I guess they're back now?
I have a nearly 3 year old and a 4 1/2 year old. They're not very helpful either, my fault for not persisting. My new year's resolution is to get them to start putting their toys away and help out a bit more, instead of trying to ask them and then just doing it myself because they're ignoring me (again).
I'm so pleased for you that you're feeling more in control it's one of the most fab feelings when you've been feeling helpless about things. Back in the saddle! Keep rewarding yourself and don't forget that even if you do let it slip, don't beat yourself up. Just come on here and get motivated and then you'll be able to deal with it again.
Now, please can you send me a bottle of enthusiasm so I can get going too? LoL! xxxxx  (ps I have a bottle of Sc I had given for xmas - I am going to start using that as a reward instead of a way to drown my sorrows!)0 -
LOL at the SC as reward instead of drowning sorrows!!!
My head is so much clearer now my house is done - I am not saying its perfect but it is certainly liveable now and I can work on getting rid of the clutter once the kids are back at preschool. I am going to keep on top of it this year. That is my New Year Resolution.
I shall get rid of a bag of clutter twice a week to keep it down to a minimum.
SO, a tidy house = a tidy mind
Thanks ladies xx xx0 -
It was a giveaway with Candis magazine a charity mag I subscribe to -
It's not actually a charity magazine...it's a firm that sells subscriptions to their own magazine and gives less than 10% to charity [not that you would know that from the sales reps patter]Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
