You've been on the thread for two years... how long have you actually be doing stuff for ;):p

What are you trying to say? I'll have you know I work very, very, very hard....

    ...sometimes :rotfl:xx

Utility room sorted - the caravan cable that has annoyed me for the last 2 months is now coiled up and in a big bag. DH kept promising to put it away because it had to be done in a certain way. Well now it's done my way and tough if it's wrong! I've also sorted out all the storage boxes, coathangers and put DS's duvet in the dryer otherwise it won't be finished for tonight.

Feet up for a few minutes and then I'll find something else to throw away!

soappie - good idea to stay in, getting wet will only make you worse. Do you have any thermals? I swear by them in winter, primark do cheap but decent ones.
    greenbee wrote: »
You should be wearing a hat, fleece (or two) and a scarf as well. I'm wearing cashmere socks, sheepskin boots, thermal undies, leggings, poloneck, fleece, down waistcoat and scarf, and my heating is on!

No thermals I'm afraid but I am now also wearing a scarf, a towelling dressing gown on top of the jumpers and a typhoo monkey beanie hat I found in the drawer where I keep my Christmas gift tags! I am busy wrapping presents. In about another hour I can go to NN's and soak in her bath!

this place is looking beautiful too, it's never too bad but lovely to just be able to enjoy it...and there's no one here to mess it up (might lock DH out later!)

Thats a great idea, might have to do it too. Place was beautiful yesterday, i worked really hard on it then DH came home from work and dumped crap everywhere:mad:

I went to [STRIKE]visit[/STRIKE] make redundant on her return from maternity leave  a former colleague and to meet her six month old baby (born at 28 weeks) when I was 28 weeks pregnant with DS1. She had three children and a husband, her lovely new build house was immaculate. I went off sick with stress the same day because my baby was not growing :o

For the next two years I measured my own inadequacy and tip of a terrace against her perfect house. Then I found out that her Mum lived a few doors away and helped daily with childcare, and she had a cleaner EVERY DAY! If I went back to work we could have a cleaner, a gardener, a nanny and be perfect at everything but we both think our boys prefer the chaos and mummy at home. If any of my family actually liked children and lived closer I am sure that would help too.

On which note I am pleased to report that the playroom is now spotless :T:T:T

It's snowing here, really heavily! And the sky reception is messing up:( I rung DH when it started and told him he'd better set off home in case it was setting in. Good job my friend left when she did.

Now I really must move all the prezzies back into spare room and put my feet up and watch casualty!

Oh, and I bought some marrowfat peas in Asda - I fancy ham and pea soup. Do I REALLY have to soak them for 12 hours or is there a quicker method like there is for pearl barley etc. (e.g. pouring boiling water on them?)
yes ......just cook them longer, we used to make pea and ham soup at work with no soaking beforehand, but we did have the pot on the stove ALL day;)
