I'm now hime from work via the shops and tip, and am now officially on holiday :xmastree: :snow_laug :santa2: :xmassmile :rudolf: :snow_grin
Just having some lunch (crumpets and butter  ) then HHC 15:30 - 16:00
Penny, x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Afternoon all
Thanks for the link Triker - the only problem is, the ignition isn't firing at all so I don't think it's an airlock like yours was.
Excellent advice from Greenbee there as always about preparing for a heating emergency. I was fortunate in that I knew exactly where my boiler manual was which is why I know the issue isn't a simple reset one. Oh and I bought two more hot water bottles from Asda this afternoon - they were only £2 each.
Thanks for the cards LL - they arrived today
RoseP - glad you're getting some help from the Jobcentre
I was really frozen by the time I got to work. There was black ice everywhere on the pavements outside so walking was slow and slippy. I finally thawed out about 11.30. And now I'm back home and cooling down again! You'd laugh if you saw me.
I have three pairs of socks on, one short sleeved tshirt underneath a long sleeved tshirt underneath a large cotton rugby shirt and I'm typing this wearing a pair of fingerless gloves DD bought for me when I was involved in running a community market stall for a while and I have a hot water bottle on my knee.
BB and I are holed up in the kitchen at the moment with the oven on. I have abandoned my idea of going for a brisk walk with her - it's raining again and almost cold enough for snow. It wouldn't be fun getting in all damp and wet. So I shall just go and do what I can on the list.
Oh, and I bought some marrowfat peas in Asda - I fancy ham and pea soup. Do I REALLY have to soak them for 12 hours or is there a quicker method like there is for pearl barley etc. (e.g. pouring boiling water on them?)I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Just checked my reciepts and a payment went to an ebay seller on the 5th of Dec and I have not yet heard from her....should I email her or wait a bit longer?
Have emailed the seller on Amazon as well, just waiting for a reply...
Haven't got to the ironing yet!!!!!0 -
Thank you Penny, Yes I have come to the conclusion that this is not a hill worth dying on.......But I am changing the password on my computer, he can have the tv and lots of food
Meanie :rotfl:I can honestly say I have never heard of anyone cleaning the back passage ooooer :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Before I moved house, I used to visit a friend by going to his back door. When I moved, it was more convenient to use the front door. He never looked at me the same again when I told him that I'd miss the "walk up his back passage":rotfl::rotfl:

I haven't been following what's happened here, but if it's an ebay question, get yourself over to the ebay board - soolin and the others are really helpful :T

Mmmmm. I've done a lot but I've not swept my back passage so feel a bit of a failure
:rotfl:. Sorry Summermoon, couldn't resist!
Big hugs Rosepink - it must be hard for you right now xx
Well, vacuum cleaner man has been a fixed the dyson. The only insurance that's ever been worth having. £30 a year and they fix pretty much anything.
I have cleaned the house to within an inch of it's life. It's never looked this clean. I also used up some brown bananas in some banana bread. There's a quarter of it left as children and friends children demolished it! So yummy straight out of the oven.
Going to watch a Christmas film with the children now.
Hugs to all xx
Monday Mayhem..
Make sure you have all the shopping
Make sure the last of the presents are wrapped
I'll finish the wrapping when the children are in bed tonight. Last bit of shopping will happen over the next few days xx0 -
Thanks Penpen....on my way over there now.....0

I'm exhausted! Walked to the next street to post Christmas cards to the old neighbours. I have been asking DD to do this for the past 3 weeks and she has just been ignoring me. I had to post a 60th birthday card so I needed to go out anyway. She is in the bad books as she pinched my woolly gloves to go to school on Friday and guess what? She cant find them. What a f e c king surprise. Hmmm, am going to watch Nigella on Good Food. Then I can tick off the half hour doing nothing for myself0
