Another 4 presents wrapped now - MIL's all done, Moon's all done. Must wash my hair and get dressed and then go out to Aldi and MrA before dropping elderly neighbour's pressie and card in to her this afternoon.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Not a very successful HHC - I cleared the drainer and washed a few dishes while I cooked waffles then fed Gemma.

    I'd better carry on!

Is it vital that he come  If not, he can stay at home ;) There's nothing worse than a reluctant party guest with "that face" on :p I try to select batles with my teens very carefully, and only the ones I'm sure of winning :T

    Penny. x

Thank you Penny, Yes I have come to the conclusion that this is not a hill worth dying on.......But I am changing the password on my computer, he can have the tv and lots of food :D

Got my flowers, topped up at local Tesco, dh is doing the wholefood shop in town. Off to S&S kitchen and hopefully fit in a short nap before going out.
  • Hiya everyone - had a couple of days offline, just too busy.

    Monday Mayhem.. ALL DONE!!!!!

[STRIKE]Make sure you have all the shopping you need to take you through to next week.. milk and bread especially! It is Bank Holiday on Monday so some shops are not open.. the big supermarkets are.[/STRIKE]Well that's OK, because I seem to have enough food until next Christmas
[STRIKE]Make sure the last of the presents are wrapped I will not have people sitting up while 5am on Christmas morning wrapping!
    Have we located stockings?[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]S&S the kitchen
    S&S the bathroom/s and loo's
Clean the oven and hob ready for your feast!
Clean the fridge to accommodate you bounty of food
Change any bedding you need to get washed before the fat guy arrives.. and I do not mean the OH/parent/ etc
Make sure your timetable for christmas day is sorted and everyone knows their tasks.. who is spud peeling? Who is stuffing the bird etc..?
Catch up on the laundry .. ironing is tomorrows job!
Phone someone you 'forgot' to post a card/present to in time.. just so they know you've not forgotten them...
Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself.. reading.. relaxing.. goggling... remember you are important too.
Change pet bedding and wash blankies etc.. we don't want them putting you off your christmas sprouts!
    Dust
    do a crazy HHC decluttering[/STRIKE]

    Extras

Fixed iron as Bloke pulled dial off.
Stressed as OU haven't been able to post exam results by their expected date. Hopefully tomorrow now.
Gave cats mini pedicure - no more clickety clacks across the laminate.
Donated old portable TV to person downstairs. She has psych issues and her mum is about 90. Held breath for entire time of taking it in their [STRIKE]squalid hovel[/STRIKE] flat, setting it down and plugging it in. Came back and scrubbed hands with everything antibacterial I could find.

DD2 came back from Dad's with the intention of finishing off her side of the room today. After a night apparently spent shivering (why she didn't wake me up, I have no idea), she began to complain of a headache. Climbed in her bed (listening for the slats screaming for mercy) to warm her up. One decongestant, one ibuprofen, one cuppa later and she went back to sleep. I delegated childcare to the Bloke and went to get last shopping (other than fish for Xmas Eve - will get that tomorrow or Wednesday). Came back to find her sipping chicken soup from mug with a cat sitting on each foot. She felt better - until I asked if she was better enough to pick the dirty socks off the bedroom floor. 'Oh no, mummy, I don't feel well enough for that'

So, after slinging out some black sunflower seeds for the birdies, realised I don't have much to do now. I think, other than actual cooking, all I need is to go over the floors with a mop and polish the woodwork.

    I'm nearly relaxed!
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

My Christmas cards have arrived - thank you all so very much.

I couldn't get the car out of its parking space, so anything involving going out will just have to wait. We set off walking, but DS2's gloves aren't waterproof, so his hands got cold very quickly, because he couldn't resist playing with the snow. If the person parked in front of us moves their car anytime soon, I may still have a chance. Otherwise I'll walk up by myself when DS1 is back to look after DS2.

Just deciding between a short nap and a strong coffee before getting on with jobs. May have to have both.

  • Hello! I'm in, although not really following the lists this week. Thanks Pigpen, Toots and Soappie.

We spent the whole morning at the job centre to see what benefits we can qualify for - when we phoned the contact centre last week the man didn't have a clue what to say to us so he just made us an appointment at the job centre! They were very confused to start with as he'd put down all sorts of wrong things on our info but I must say the people we saw were very helpful. We've filled in lots of forms and DH is on the phone now as they said we could be given a crisis loan to keep us going until the benefits come through. As we have to buy food, petrol and pay bills over the next couple of weeks that will be handy, and then they take £6 of your benefits a week to pay back the loan. Not too amused about getting more debt, but we need to eat and heat our flat!

This afternoon I'm going to have a nap as am absolutely worn out after all that thinking! Then I need to carry on tidying the corner by the bed and clear out my shoe cupboard so we can treat the mould that is growing there. I don't know how many of my shoes will be ruined, hopefully not too many.

Poohbear how nice of the petrol station man to take in your parcels, nice community spirit!

Soappie – no heating!! Oh no! Hope they mend it soon. I hope your dd is ok after her ditch problems

FFP, I hope your OH managed to get home in the end and wasn’t too cold or fed up

Natty I hope your time with Toxic goes ok

Ishtar I hope your poor lil boy gets better soon

Tag your kittens sounds so sweet!

    See you all later!

I did several HHCs together, got 6 baskets of dry laundry sorted out, box of toiletries/junk from caravan sorted, linen & towels away, all mine & DPs clothes away, waiting until I can get in the boys room to put the rest away. DP has actually helped, shocked but pleased, his side of our room now clean, tidy, windows done etc. Put his own clothes away too!!! Boys have sorted through many boxes deciding what to fling & keep, but loads more to do so back to the grind xx
One day I might be more organised...........
